Welcome to Part 1127 of the Soulful Spike Society [/center] Since I was just using it earlier this evening... Actually, a menu wouldn't do you any good around here: we offer such a wide variety of awesome posts, pictures, conversations, and observations there's simply no way to categorize or catalog it all. You'll simply have to dive on in and enjoy the feast. However, we do have a couple of requirements—our version of "no shirt, no shoes, no service," if you will: 1. Read and follow the rules.2. However, this doesn't mean the conversation is limited; instead, if you want to talk about stuff that's verboten on the main board, go here and chat to your heart's content. 3. Don't post spoilers anywhere but here. Seriously. Otherwise, we will cut you. And then feed you to the cat. 4. Check out the great reviews and essays on the S3 home page. And that does it. So tuck in a napkin, pull up a chair, and start posting!

So, I"m going to tape "CHAOS" this Friday. I think the promo is something like "CIA agents who work outside the box." Pic has 4 males (no women?).
Mostly I"m a big Eric Close fan. LOVED his show years ago -- Now and Again. Was extremely upset with it's cancellation.
On the other hand I just can't get excited about Falling Skies on TNT with Noah Wylie. Just looks like a remake of every Alien Invasion movie I've ever seen. Which might work in a movie or mini-series but stretched out through episodes (years?) without resolution? It's the same problem I have with Walking Dead. I want the good guys to win.
I think Buffy did a good job of satisfying that for me because she had at least a small victory every episode and a big one each season. Plus, I started following it on FX when I got the big season ender pay-off about every 2 weeks since they showed 2 episodes a day.
I suspect there are other shows that I would like in that format but don't have the patience to follow on a week by week basis, especially with the long hiatuses that occur now.

grumblegrowlsnarlwhinebitchmoan Normally, I'd vent on my lj, but since that outlet is currently unavailable (and can I just say that that is one scary goat demon ), and if I don't vent somewhere soon I'm gonna blow my stack, you'll just have to put up with me here. The good: Emily cooked dinner two nights in a row. The bad: She's still home on spring break, until next Monday, on which day Paul and Kitty will both be home instead. Also, I can't seem to get started on anything creative and/or fun, so I've been trying to reorganize various rooms including but not confined to the walk-in closet in the den (aka The Cave), which is next to impossible because of Other People's *coughPaulcough* trash treasures. And furthermore, I see no possibility of fun for me anytime in the forseeable future. And we haven't even watched this week's Castle yet, because Paul needs to work on the taxes, like, NOW, and he's very easily distracted by TV or anything else (Look! Solitaire game on the computer!). I've even been brushing Patches for him, and she is Not Happy about having a substitute furdresser, I can tell you. Shadow isn't too pleased that her Mom is brushing Cootie Sister, either. Cats. S'cubies, I'm going to scrounge up some breakfast and then go do some grocery research for Aged Mum, who wants... she isn't sure what, but I'm sure whatever I buy will be the wrong thing. Again. And don't even get me started on the stunt she pulled when Bestest Buddy kindly offered to do a grocery run for her - AM had BB on cell phone reading off all the available frozen vegetables on offer, and refusing each and every one. BB finally said, "Look, that's all Albertson's has, there are no more," and AM agreed, after further questions, that sugar snap peas might do... I am very, very glad I don't have a cell phone right now, as I can just see AM doing that to me, for every item on her two-week shopping list, and it already takes over an hour to find everything as it is.

I have not heard about these shows you mention, but let us know what you think if you tune in! I have seen some promos for a few shows that have slightly piqued my interest, but I have yet to make an effort to DVR them. The Breakout Kings on A&E has gotten some good buzz, but I don't know if it's any good. Anyone seen it? The main attraction for me is the show has Jimmi Simpson, who was so great when he guest starred on House. The other show that looks kinda interesting is Body of Proof with Dana Delaney, which I guess just aired last night on ABC according to their web site. Speaking of House, at first glance it appears to be drawing heavily on that type of character--a smart, cocky medical professional that experienced a physical setback. And in light of the news that Mad Men is going to be delayed until 2012 (*SIGH*), I might give this AMC murder mystery series a shot: The Killing. Ooh, that premieres this Sunday, so I haven't missed any eps yet!

JUlia, back awake, sort of, after lying down at 6:30 and having the usual two-and-a-half hours of vivid dreams.

Next week I'll at least have Tuesday and Thursday until around 2PM anyway and possibly a bit of Wednesday, but that's about as good as it ever gets. I'll have to catch up on the TV I DVR'd and get all the computer maintenance done during those windows, too, because Goddess forbid anybody should be denied their rightful internet playtime. Except me, of course, because I don't count as anybody important. Gah. I'm seriously considering going back to bed, possibly with the covers over my head, until it's time to deal with Aged Mum's daily call.
