Also? Soooo nice to be doing this from home on a normal-size keyboard again.

When fandoms collide... you get t-shirts like this: If you're interested, you can buy the t-shirt here. There's a nice variety of options for the t-shirt's color, so if light blue isn't your thing you can get the image put on a shade you like better.

Holy crap. Today's Amazon Gold Box deal is for Firefly on blu-ray for less than $25. On the one hand, I REALLY don't need to be spending more money right now. On the other, that's an incredible deal I might never see again. Decisions, decisions...

For you... And, just because it's been a while...
Ah, you are as ever the Mistress of Pretty People! Thanks indeed! Julia, assessing the concept of lovely lovely painkillers

Julia--a replacement Browder! (Good thing I kept the receipt. ) Oh, lovely! I was trying, last night, to analyse the points of not-Benness in the other photo, which was perhaps a bit compulsive, but since it got me away from the consideration of how Mags Bennett developed her fatal charms, it was probably a good thing. Julia, but she does like explaining herself to someone who knows how it is to grow up in the hills.

So, Birthday: I know how I'm finishing the chicken coop, and may be able to do so this morning. Also, Sam gave me a Vampire Willow to go with the Fuzzy Pink Sweater Willow so I've got two large-size Doppelgangerland figures, how cool is that? And I had Chinese for dinner, and a jellyroll after, and Franklin got me s1 Justified, , and then when I came home there was a woman on the BYC board with a lone apparent cockeral Spangled Hamburg roo, and though she lives in Davis she has family in Shelton so I don't even ask my relatives to drag me a chicken up from the Bay Area, probably. And then all these pretties, and it was a happy birthday to meeeeeee! Julia, nor do I have to sink $100 on a show-quality cockeral, either! Calloo Callay!

Let mom or dad or Greg or somebody know that they can get you a birthday/Christmas present for a good deal now?

That's quite a haul, and all tribute well-deserved! Paul is home sick again today, although his cold is slowly passing off , so it's another day of manly TV, by which I mean CNBC/Fox News/whatever he can find on the cable movie channels, which yesterday was Jaws. I have nothing against Jaws, but I had planned to watch other things while embroidering. I am feeling seriously put-upon and sorry for myself, so, after much thought and guilt-tripping, I asked Emily if she'd mind walking to as well as from the dentist. She said she'd been about to offer. Sometimes she's a very good daughter, which almost makes up for the times when I'd really like to strangle her. So I ran necessary errands, among them being Borders for a book I've been considering buying, the current Somerset Life and an iced chai latte. Necessary in this particular case being to my sanity. I am now off to clean out the freezer, with my NPR station as background (so there). Wish me luck. I may be some time...

For some perspective: Franklin has found a station that plays Petticoat Junction four times a day, he's DVRing it, and it's not even the first couple of goodish seasons. Julia, sick husbands are pretty much like old sitcoms, anyway.

Julia, sick husbands are pretty much like old sitcoms, anyway. Word.Paul only just recently cleaned last season's American Idol off the DVR, with great regret and gnashing of teeth. Now he's recording every episode of the current season to watch over, and over and over... Also he's got all of this season of Glee sitting there for repeat viewing. His tastes and mine are not always in accord, but at least I save my unpopular things for when there's nobody else home to be affronted.

I need to know how to add a circle encompassing both that says "Things that involve getting my feet wet" It stopped raining at about 7pm yesterday but the grass is still so wet I can't go out without getting my feet soaked. This is not my idea of a plaeasant condition, especially after a day when I soaked every work coat I own right through to the skin. Julia, argh Not quite what you were looking for, but maybe it'll do anyway...

At least I managed to shuck going to Home Depot for yet more 2X2 and 1X2 off onto Anna, because I've smashed my left thumbnail sideways and then run a drill bit into the adjacent index finger nail bed. So I'm resting and staring in bemusement at a waterproof bandage on the fingernail where the bloodstain has finally stopped spreading. Oh, well, chickens make us do funny things, just like love.
