“Apropos of nothing at all except that it has been on my mind and I think I had better say it because it accounts for a good deal of my behaviour. There is a strong streak in me that wishes not to exist and really does not believe that I do, so that I tend to become unnerved when these curious ideas are proved to be not really true because someone (in this case you) has responded to something I have said or done just as if I were an actual person the same as you (especially) or anyone else. Some of it is, I guess, just the worst sorts of arrogance and irresponsibility , but not all of it, as I really don't think I exist a lot of the time, so I'm asking you to bear with it, me, whatever, for the sake of what?—friendship I suppose, which I want to be capable of, which is obviously not enough. More brains might help, but enough unseemly remarks for eight o'clock in the morning and the shivering in pyjama bottoms syndrome.” ― Edward Gorey, Floating Worlds: The Letters of Edward Gorey & Peter F. Neumeyer www.google.com/(Thought of you, Erin, when I saw it was his birthday.)

Neumeyer www.google.com/(Thought of you, Erin, when I saw it was his birthday.) Hee! I LOVE that you thought of me when you thought of Edward Gorey. Fascinating quote, too. I think I rather understand what he means, in a strange sort of way. Do you know, it's funny, Mom and I have been on this Masterpiece Mystery kick for months now (I think I've got a bit of a crush on Sgt. Hathaway on Inspector Lewis), and, of course, each episode starts with Gorey animation, and has since I can remember. But it was only a month or so ago that I actually remembered that that opening sequence used to scare the HELL out of me as a kid. As in, running-out-of-the-room-when-it-came-on scared. Every kid has got something; one of my college friends apparently used to be terrified of the opening sequence of The Electric Company.

Hey, scubes!
I had to do some emergency home repair due to squirrel yesterday (which the squirrel immediately undid, dammit) and otherwise ended up making my cold worse.
I thought all the pieces on PR last night were boring, and a couple of them were REALLY UGLY.
Oh, well.
Julia, storming too hard to take care of the animals, which is not earning me any points as a keeper.

I didn't mean were we ABLE to upload, I meant is FB a place where we're ALLOWED to upload. Remember our ban on hotlinking and stuff? Our ban was for using other public sites (like say, a photo on a news story somewhere), or other people's sites/photo albums. You can use your own facebook photo just like you can use your own photobucket photo. The technopagans can correct me if I'm wrong, but I can't see a difference between using a pic on your photobucket account, and using one on your facebook account.

You're absolutely right; in both cases, you're essentially linking from a personal account. At least, that's the way I see it.

When Nicole Kidman was being interviewed on the red carpet tonight, Keith Urban said he had picked out her dress: number 316 at the imdb red carpet pictures demonstrates the "dress that a husband will appreciate" aspects of the gown (which I think is the best thing she's worn for years). #wavey#
I went to a con in Coventry and now I am home
Redemption was great. I booked for the next one already.
... now I am ill a bit with coughing and probably the same ill as several people at the convention. ... that's less good.
There was a wedding at the con but I did not go. Apparently three couples so far have had their weddings at the con. Including the con chair, who got married as Londo and G'Kar.
... some things, they not so much easy to explain to mundanes...
I talked all weekend. Not like continuously, I mean I only started stuttering on Sunday night. I said things when I wanted to say things. I win.

I need a trim. Have called daughter to ask where she goes, but I need a STYLE.
Getting my hair cut is always a traumatic event for me. I won't cut it short and I don't trust layering it. Am still growing out layers cut in four years ago. I don't like the current "messy" look so popular right now. It looks too much like someone was too lazy to bother. But I am tired of either twisting up a bun on top of my head or wearing it in a single braid. Both do nothing for my very, very round face.
What kind of long hairstyle is appropriate for a woman turning 65, that looks stylish and fairly neat, works with wavy thin hair, can still be worn up sometimes in the Houston heat, and is easy, easy, easy to care for?
For the record, I hate curling and flat irons, styling gels and mousses, and there will be NO perms.
Photos would be nice.

So I slipped and fell on the ice today and broke my wrist today. The good news this is that this happened right outside the clinic where i'm doing my rotation so a) i didn't have to go to the ER and b) my preceptor went over the x-ray and casting etc with me. He mentioned the possibility of surgery, but I'm really hoping it doesn't come to that. #xfingers# Now, I'm going to study up on wrist fractures,
