Doctor Who makes me happy!
I like it! I like the title, and I like the opening credits, and I love the new coat. It moves real good. Also, purple lining.
Clara is becoming Clara Oswin Oswald, who she wasn't at the start. So whatever is going to happen to make her be many is in this one's future? I'm betting City of Death type explosion. But we don't have clues yet so we find out later. This one is all Mystery and Surprise.
Great Intelligence! That was a very good ending. I like the whole wifi thing, and being uploaded, and it looks like the Library and Forest of the Dead. Except the Doctor just called this version hell and got everyone out of it and probably killed a lot of them. It is hell because there are no books there? Or probably because the Great Intelligence eats them. That would be a problem.
Hackable people. I like it. With little sliders for personalities. I am playing Sims a lot at the moment so it's like Giant LARP Sims. Active camouflage was good too, and pulling images from their subconscious, so she sees the Doctor and the little girl on the book cover.
Amelia Williams! ... drat, I probably need to include this in my dissertation. No, wait, I do not need to try and keep up, it's studying particular seasons. It was supposed to be particular episodes but my brain apparently refuses to do that. I think I need to rewrite Amy's section to get it to focus properly anyway, it's the most rambly because it's at the end and I haven't worked on it as much. ... okay, dissertation derailment, :-p to that, squee time now.
I love that Amy's books are part of the world now.
Spoonheads are excellent. With a face inside they look like the exhibit, the big Doctor Who thing, that projected a face on a dummy so it would look 3D and it looked all weird and wrong. You couldn't cosplay a spoonhead side view but from directly at the back the distortions are doable. But active camouflage and a silly name equals really easy to play at. Excellent.
... spliced in computer skills. Envy? Yes, envy. There'd be biases built in and potentially buggy code and you wouldn't want your brain hacked even for Matrix style skillsets... except for how you totally would, because who hasn't got something they continue to fail at big time? *sigh*
The Shard: well of course. There's a new building in London, it hasn't been blown up by Doctor Who yet.
Motorbike! Triumph is cool enough, but anti-gravity :-)
Clara... why wouldn't she be a nanny? People are. It's a job people do. Being just a friend of the family works too. Families are complicated. I'm puzzled by his puzzlement. But now she has tragic backstory.
It felt like Future Clara and Past Clara we saw him fall for, we saw why he would. Now Clara is just... there. Getting pulled along into his world. With a mug of tea she doesn't get to finish. (That was a cool bit, with the plane. Scary and cool.) The hacking via face pictures is very concise statement of seperate spheres of Doctor and Companions - he does tech, they does people. So she's nice, she looks after kids, she wants to travel, and she was a bit ignorant at computers but now she's super zoomy. It's a start. It felt like this one was more about making her fall for him, it was the Doctor's turn to be shiny. Also he was trying really, really hard this time.
It was kind of funny watching her notice him trying and him keep falling on his face.
And she told him to come back tomorrow. I like it. Deciding on the spot makes it seem more like not deciding at all.
I also liked when he's leaning on the console and you can see him notice the height difference and try and correct and realise that's too far to lean and readjust. He's giant next to her. She is much more reasonable size.
I'm not sold on the new TARDIS interior. He keeps his clothes under the console now? The Doctor doing the choosing an outfit thing usually happens when he regenerates, but this time he'd kind of given up on being him for a while, and only was him again when he found his friend again. Which is a bit worrying really.
All these mentions of snogging and no mention he's a married man. Not that River seems to mind dating other people, but it niggles in case of Clue.
I liked the title because phone ringing next to St John's ambulance sign is not the first thing you'd think of but it's incredibly obvious once you see. It's kind of troll LOL? No guessing anything from the title. But it's still important, because HOW did she manage to phone him? Who is the woman in the shop? Clue! Many clue! :-)
... silly phone with the giant long connector cable. Is different from last time it rang. All new.
I like all the parts and I like this story and I look forward to getting the next bit.

Good thoughts, be. I also tended to wonder what became of River, what with the Doctor acting all smitten and all.

Good thoughts, be. I also tended to wonder what became of River, what with the Doctor acting all smitten and all. , especially about River. Clara is a bit too much manic pixie dream girl for me, but I'm reserving judgement for now. She might get better.
