ARGH. How long has it been since I posted? Bright blue sunnuvabitch few days starting with the massive thunderstorm Friday afternoon/evening and I'm both in serious joint pain in every bendy bit and still massively behind on essentially every bit of my real-world maintanence.
Y'all seen this?
Julia, oh, goody: more thundershowers overnight and the clouds just cleared so we can steam-bake for a while.

Hi Julia! I'm waving to you from Bellingham, en route to Slayage in Vancouver. Sending big hugs to S'cubies who are struggling. Some good news: Another abstract was accepted for another book about SPN! I'm trying to build up my publications, perhaps as a way to write a book-long treatment of SPN myself. to all. Congratulations on getting the abstract accepted! You rock like a rocking thing! I have to say, I am a bit surprised at the longevity of SPN. It's going into its 8th season, right? And the fandom is perhaps even more dedicated (and more contentious?) than Buffy fans. Amazin'. Thank you, my dear! It is nice, and after this conference I might have a few more things in the hopper to work on as well. I must back Sue up (who attended the very first one); Slayage is a great time...everyone was welcoming, exciting, and all around just...neat. I would recommend any S'cubie, if you're so inclined, to attend.

The person I was supposed to work with this afternoon was sick today, so I got the afternoon off. And the morning worked out much better than yesterday, so that all works out.

Upsetting news, but I thought some of you would want to know:
S'cubie Cal posted on Facebook that her much anticipated grandson was stillborn today.
Very sad. She has gotten many comments and condolensces.

Sue, I think I wished you well and swallowed my envy when you first announced your cruise, but if not: boy, I wish I was going! Julia, needing chickensitters and money.

You know, I was sure I'd said something this morning. Antihistamines are making me deeply, deeply stupid and the grass I cut in May is up and blooming again, which helps nothing.
Is anyone watching Teen Wolf? What about Lost Girl? I wish there was some SF which wasn't either apocalyptic or horror-influenced: I'm hoping Alphas is going to be good this season, although when they killed off CKR I lost interest.
Julia, where are the Treks of yesteryear?
