Once again, Faith thinks that Giles is only thinking about Buffy. And she may be right, but I don't think so. At least not entirely. Whether or not Giles knew about the direct threat to Buffy, I think he sent Faith on this mission because he saw a larger threat. Not to mention, this woman has already killed at least one other slayer in the "hunt" we saw. Plus, the whole connection to the larger big bad that the guy with the wand has. But the fact that the target is Buffy definitely doesn't help Faith's inner "I'm not considerered worthy" monologue. And, yeah, the plan is so very screwy, as becca points out. 'Cuz how on earth will killing Buffy put the murderer in charge of things? And all this talk about how Buffy has made the slayers be "serfs"? Well, I'm thinking that far more what this chick wants to do. I mean, she's the one looking down on everyone else. And surely, Faith can see that she is only liked because Genevieve thinks Faith is a snooty titled woman like herself and that she'd have no problem with offing Faith is she weren't? And that can't possibly sit well with Faith. Which makes me believe that all the mentions of Faith going "native" and the way she seems to take Genevieve's side? Not gonna happen. In the end, Faith won't go for this kind of deal. If only Buffy will get out of her own mental loops and realize that. I'm also really wondering about the various prophesy things that both Roden and Giles seem to be reading. Probably the same prophesy, but they each have their preferred outcome. I totally think that Roden's comment about how the nightmares will end if Buffy is killed was the spin he put on it to hook Genevieve. 'Cuz I'm thinking it's more of a "the nightmares will stop because all the slayers will be dead and my evil partners and minions will rule the world" kind of thing. On the other side of the coin, I also want to know who's "deep pockets" are financing Buffy and co. And, boy, they're totally making Genevieve be a mirror of Faith's past, aren't they? Including the "make the guys think they're exploiting you while you use them" thinking. Excellent touch with Faith saying they hit the shallow end of the water just as Buffy goes totally all shallow. I mean, yeah, Faith was there, but to automatically jump to conclusions and say you're "not surprised" that Faith is starting "her own evil slayer club"? Harsh. And also living in the past just as much as Faith. Why not at least start with "what the hell is going on, Faith?" Or even, "what do we need to do/who are we fighting, Faith?" And oh, how they are fighting over Giles' approval and interest. Snap out of it, you two! And now, Genevieve. Who is feeling betrayed, like Faith did, back in the day. Which is another mirror. Little things that I just loved: Heh! Giles and his "freelancer"? Hee! Willow saying "Ms. Tech's mystic tech support". Buffy telling Roden that he's sooo gonna pay for her chicken ceasar wrap. That what makes Buffy really really mad is that Genevieve is using her slayer power to kill other slayers.
