Erin, I thought of you when I saw that this morning. [hugs] *hugs* to you as well! How are you feeling? I'm getting better, slowly but surely - I guess Julia told you about the damnèd Gallbother? Sorry I didn't post about the whole thing here, there were just too many people to tell.

She did! Hope you're feeling better now that it's out! (And I'm sorry about Alan Rickman...) It's slow, but I am getting better, thanks! Glad you're feeling better. Things are wild and crazy here . . . one thing I can say about having a stream of foster children ages 2 months to 17 yrs old is that life is never boring. Right now I have my daughter Roxy (now 16) and a 20 month old girl. And then I do respite care (keeping kids for a few days when their regular foster parents need that assistance for some reason). We had a 3 yr old for 5 days recently and it was quite a scene. He was a cutie pie, very smart, and somewhat bossy with the 20 month old. He even tried to put her on "time out." And he put his hands in Roxy's bright red Splat hair dye. This created chaos for a little while. Fortunately, I was able to remove all trace of it before he went home.

#wavey#
my exciting life lately goes: get rid of old bed, buy new bed, discover quality of new bed, phone to return new bed, sleep on floor for a couple weeks and counting.
take opportunity to go order new carpet for now empty bedroom. have allergic reaction to carpet shop. take sample home. still can't tell if I'm allergic to it or just have kind of a cough ish. contemplate not getting new carpet.
at some point I shall probably take the library books back. that'll be neat. but the social group was cancelled, so I have no regular go to library day lately.
wow I miss conversation.
On the other hand, the characters of our favourite TV shows could only dream of a life this boring, so, there's that.

I'll bet you do miss the social group conversation. I miss this place sometimes. Lots of the S'cubes are over on FB, and some of us are in a Buffy FB group, so I stay in touch. But the back and forth is not nearly as fun.

I have neither a new bed nor a new carpet. the shop isn't taking back the bed they're refunding until the end of the month, because shops can do that. and the allergy issue is not yet resolved, so new carpet cannot be acquired. but its not like its urgent. the floor isn't going anywhere. ... #xfingers# ...

Granddaughter interviewed last week for a scholarship to UCLA. She is becoming very much the costumer/makeup artist. I keep teasing her about appearing on Face Off. She needs to work on her fabrication but she says she's thinking in over. The interviewers at UCLA are nuts about her (and about half a dozen other colleges too!) Unfortunately, her grades are an issue. It will be a disappointment if she doesn't get in, but the lady who talked to her said she could go elsewhere, get the grades up, and transfer OR finish her degree and go to UCLA for her Masters. MY granddaughter going for a Masters.

I hope things are working out. I just FINALLY put my old home on the market. Too bad you don't live on this side of the pond . . . I think you would like it.

I have a bed :-) The delivery guys assembled it :-) Already one of the legs is wobbles :-(
*sigh* they left half an hour before I discovered the flaw. is not awesome.
I still don't got a new mattress. But if I had a mattress then I'd have to decide if the wobble was still structurally sound and if it should go on the bed.

Hope it is has been resolved and you have both a comfy bed and mattress . . . . I am trying to type with a 2 yr old putting her fingers on the keys. Ugh.

Granddaughter Maddi won the Robert Redford scholarship to Santa Fe University of Art and Design at the University of New Mexico! THEY invited HER to come and interview. They were so blown away by her work that they brought it to Redford to review and he LOVED LOVED LOVED it. $20K a year plus living stipend! Won't cover it ALL, but will cover a LOT. She can also transfer to UCLA later, or for her Masters.
Yes, we are all blown right out of our socks!

I fixed mine years ago by wedging a bit of wood under the short leg.
