As you know, if you've been following the main board, I challenged Barbalurina to a poetry competition. She (brave, hardy, foolish soul) has accepted. I'm setting up this part for anyone else who wishes to enter.
The rules we've agreed on are as follows: There are no rules.
That is to say, any form of poetry is acceptable. This is an enduro, so there is no time limit. Other Scubie poets are welcome to participate.
I'm posting our first volleys here so you may catch up.
Come and see Rhymers we Lovers of Buffy and Serenity

I came to the poet's board to play and found that it had gone away I cried and sobbed, my teeth I gnashed What has happened? Have we crashed?
No, my friends, have no fear Techopagan Erin's near Though we were in danger dire Erin saved us from the fire
So we relocate right here Poets all stand up and cheer Join me in a benediction She saved our poems from extinction!
Thanks Erin!

Sitting in my room all day working merrily away I could call my plight a fix But I'm watching Buffy Six
Sewing panels could be hardening if I weren't watching Bargaining and the work would seem surreal if I didn't have Life Serial
I can devote my time today and give myself All The Way Sending all my chores reeling While I watch Once More With Feeling
Tabula Rasa while I hem Smashed and Wrecked and Gone again Doublemeat Palace keeps my interest high Dead Things makes the time pass by
I'll be Older and Far Away As You Were just yesterday Hell's Bells, there's so much to do Normal Again? Not till I'm through!
Entropy I fear if I am Seeing Red in my eye Villains? No, just Two to Go Grave my plight if I don't sew.
Sitting in my room all day working steadily away I could call my plight a fix But I have my Buffy Six!

I cannot answer for my kin, But the RenFaire is my sin! Tho' come November back again Rhymes to write and poems to spin. Wrote this for the RenFreaks board, but it kinda goes with the sentiment above. Sing to "Over the Rainbow." Some day When faire is over I’ll sleep in There's a room that I heard of Free of the campground din Some day when faire is over baths I’ll take And the rooms that I dare to clean And all the beds I’ll make Some day I'll have a weekend free and wake up with my aching feet behind me When I can dress for weather hot or cold it really matters not Home’s where you’ll find me Some day, when faire is over Life is fine Patrons live outside festival Why then, oh why can't I? Some day there’ll be a weekend mine when there will be so much free time When I can do what e’er I please No schedules in twos and threes Home’s where you’ll find me! Some day, when faire is over Life I’ll bide Patrons have lives of their own Why then, oh why can't I? If silly little patrons have lives outside faire Why, oh why can't I?

Diane your song was really fun Wish I could play but I must run! The things I've promised I would do Will fill the day and still won't be through I miss you on the board my friend, So when your fairing's at an end, Let's meet and have a a cup or two Starbucks of course - s'ok with you?

Well the time for RenFaire's passed and so much work have I amassed And here I am, back in your midst To rejoin and learn what I've missed
Does anyone out there want to play upon the poet's board today? There's much to tell and lots of time to tell your stories here--in rhyme.

What a nice surprise to find: Thread moved, someone rhymed Just popped in to check bulletin Should be writing essay for handin’ in One day of university to go Then just info for Jan exams to know How was Renfaire? For I know not, what happens there. (Anybody else waiting to see if santa brings: Extended edition - Lord of the Rings?)

I feel strange...something is weird. Not a big deal...not to be feared. It's been a while since I've been here. Here's something for you...Diane, dear. Buffy's a girl who made a big name kicking demon ass and not being lame Willow's her friend, a nice redhead witch Magic and potions...only sometimes a glitch Xander's a friend, too, he has a big heart Many things happened...he's usually a part Giles is her watcher, teaches her things Plays the guitar...and sometimes he sings. These few folks, the original four Have saved the world, but who's keeping score? We only hope now that scattered they are Are still doing so, even from afar. Happy Holidays Diane. {{{Diane}}} *shakes head* Wow....what just happened? How did I get here?

This rhyme is just a chance To say I love that Snoopy Dance! Barb, your sig line animation Is the perfect decoration!
Did you make it all by yourself? Like some diligent Santa's elf? When it comes to picking a scene You're a regular avatar queen!
