anaross is at it again. A new WIP (mostly finished, she says) entitled "Ransomed, Healed, Restored, Forgiven." It's centered on Spike after Chosen. Months later, he just shows up one night--hurt, disoriented, breathing--outside Wolfram and Hart, holding the amulet. And passes into Angel's bewildered care. Not shippy, says anaross, but R all the same. This is part 1: www.livejournal.com/users/anaross/2005/03/11/This is part 2: www.livejournal.com/users/anaross/22544.html?#cutid1

I usually wait until the fourth chapter to recommend works in progress, but Camisha finished things, and Camisha just posted chapter 2 of "Waking Up", wherein Xander has several particularly unpleasant awakenings in a different Season 4; there's a link to Chapter 1 in the author notes: www.livejournal.com/users/camisha/28692.html?#cutid1Julia, again, this is an author who rarely puts a foot wrong OH- S/X, but not yet more than them being locked in the same initiative cell Chapter 3 posted: www.livejournal.com/users/camisha/29368.html

This updates slowly, so I'm not 100% positive which chapter I last read. But I think 9 and 10 are new. This is the fine "Home Front" by Pip, at Tea at the Ford. The one with Audrey the Brownie (or whatever she is), Spike, and Illyria (after NFA) in Britain, trying to foil the apocalyptic plans of Wolfram and Hart, concerning which Giles and Co. (particularly including Andrew) are making a research effort to determine, exactly, what those plans are. They apparently include deliberately-induced worldwide famine. Here's the chapter listing: www.teaattheford.net/conversation.php?id=1285

And I've been checking relentlessly, at noon every day, because I wanted more so much. YAY for more "Home Front" and I wonder if Professor Mary knows? Julia, came to add the update to Camisha's fic and found you'd beaten me to it.

"Three Fathers", NWHepcat's meditation on loss and grief with Xander and Wes taking the largest part (not slashy, very sad, and blessedly short and well structured) has finished at Chapter 9: www.livejournal.com/users/nwhepcat/391958.html?view=3158038I'll be writing a rec for this for the fic recs thread, but probably not for 24 hours or so (by noon March 14, 2005) as I am on 100% time committment between now and then. Julia, classically tragic but not drug out to ridiculous limits
