Welcome to the temporary Works in Progress Thread The Reading Recommendations section is soon to be undergoing some major reorganization...something about junk bonds and the IRS, I really wasn't clear...at any rate, the most immediate problem is that we need a place to store WIP update notifications, where they won't be lost in the morass that is currently the fanfic threads.
So...temporarily, until I get stuff under control, please note all updates on recommended WIPs here. In the near future, there will, with luck, be individual threads for each WIP, with calendars and/or update notifications.Whoa...stakes...look at those....

And, one more.
The plan is this: If you have a WIP that you're reading and recommending, we'll give it its own thread. This thread will open with a post that provides a brief synopsis of the fic and the link, states whether it's slash or het, provides a "rating" (e.g. PG, R, NC-17), and, if appropriate, indicates how often the fic is updated (provided there's a reliable calendar). If there's no calendar, and the fic is updated irregularly, then that thread will become the place to say, "hey, (your favorite fic here) has updated".
It'll provide a quick way to see if your fic of interest has updated, and to chat about the latest chapter(s) if you so desire.
So...if you want a WIP thread for a fic, you need to send me the information above so that I can create the thread, or, if you're feeling adventuresome, create the thread yourself, but PLEASE provide all of the above information in the opening post. It'll allow people who haven't read a particular fic to decide whether it's of interest to them. And drop me an IM, so that I can keep things organized.
Recs for one-shots and WIPs that you're not quite sure need their own thread will also have a new place to live very soon....
Julia, Nan, or Lola - will one of you please provide the info for "No More Snakes and Ladders", please, so's we can get started?
(And at your leisure, whatever other WIPs you feel strongly about.)

No More Snakes and Ladders by Tabaqui and Reremouse Pairing: Spike/Xander, sometimes Spike/Xander/Wesley Rating: NC-17, as a guess. www.livejournal.com/community/snakes_ladders/Updated alternate Mondays, at this point In a nutshell: Following NFA, construction guy Xander, who's turning the Sunnydale crater into prime real estate, discovers seriously injured/ill Spike in the crater. With Wesley's help, Xander nurses Spike back to health and mutual lurve ensues--eventually including Wes, who's had a prior relationship with Spike. They "Nest" a lot. And something's off with the crater itself, reason yet to be disclosed.

These are great, Julia and Nan. Thanks so much. I'm wiped, but I'm going to start making inroads on organizing all this in the next few days. I'll likely bug you for a bit of help, or occasionally a bunch of info.

Nice Shirt, Glossing's X/O with extra hugs and kisses, NVC-17 in infrequent part, has updated with the seventh of eight chapters; I misread the notice, and thought it was complete; I was wrong. www.exitseraphim.net/glossings/niceshirt.htmlIf you haven't been reading this, do. Really. Glossing writes Oz better than anyone, but mostly writes G/O which I know is a big squick for many; this has all her strengths withough the generation gap. Julia, sweet piece of writing.

Angel: No Limits has updated. This is the second half of a two-part episode, but it has different authors than the last part: ats-nolimits.com/episodes/ep0612.phpJulia, glad of that!
