OK, it's been 6 years since anyone responded on this thread, and I was gonna reply to the most current thread on the board for AFterlife but that wouldn't be right, so I hope someone reads this, especially Spring Summers. I am so utterly blown away by your literary analysis, between Conrad and Apocalypse now, and light and dark, etc. etc. This should be a published thesis, if it hasn't already been. Spring, do you present papers at Slayage conferences? There was one in Florida this year. You are a scholar, a true literary critic of this series. Your writing is superb, and i have to say, not slagging anyone deliberately, but compared to Nikki Stafford whose work is reportorial at best, your work is a beautiful synthesis of theory, literature and emotion. I could go on. You rock and deserve to be published. If you haven't already. The world needs this stuff.

I could go on. You rock and deserve to be published. If you haven't already. The world needs this stuff. Em First and most importantly - WELCOME EM! Thanks so much for taking the trouble to comment, and especially for your kind words about my analyses. I started writing these analyses because when I searched the internet for good analyses of BtVS, I found some good essays and such, but nothing that really did the sort of in-depth analyses I was craving. So when my friend started this Spike-centered site and was looking for people to contribute to it, I volunteered to write some Spike-centered ep analyses. I wanted to share my thoughts on this amazing series in a cohesive way, and get feedback from others who could take my insights, and add more. And that's what happened. I have never made any attempt to get these ready for publication, or found out about how I would go about such a thing. I did these reviews while I was very, very busy and pre-occupied with many major things going on in my life, and I didn't have time to think about anything but slapping them down. My reviews also stalled for awhile due to the outside challenges. Then when I thought I was getting a breather I attempted to start again, only to again face major and unexpected personal disruptions in my life. But I hope to get back to them once again, perhaps this winter. I am only two years from being able to retire, so I'm thinking if I can get these done - all the eps analyzed - maybe I could look into both publishing and presenting at that point (though currently, I am totally clueless as to how I would even begin. I'm guessing preparing them for publication would be quite an effort in itself). Thanks again for your praise and encouragement! It is really helpful to me to hear this kind of thing.
