And with this post, I should be a junior S'Cubie! Ten more, and you'll be matched with Vlad and Rae. For better or worse, I envision a day when the S 3 is a large and respected presence in the online community. On that day, people will kill to have those little Gold Stars. For to be a S'Cubie, even a Junior one, is to be more than just human. As a great man once said, [glow=yellow,2,300]We are AS GOOOOODS!!![/glow]

Is there any other way to start a new post except reply to an old one?

Is there any other way to start a new post except reply to an old one? Nan Nan, it seems as if "replying" on here is posting a new post, because what you reply to is the original post. It appears you can post a new topic, but that would form a whole new thread that might not get any attention from folks already in a topic. If you want to reply directly to someone's comments, then choose "quote". You can still edit their original text if you don't want to quote the whole thing. Only drawback is, you can't take a long quote from someone and break it up with answers to individual sections, or at least I haven't figured out how to do it. And you can change the subject line at any point.

I've read a couple of comments from people noting the ads and popups. I haven't seen them. I run blocker software on my computer, and the stuff works -- even in here.
I've got Norton's Personal Firewall, but I'm sure there's plenty of titles out there just as effective.

I haven't had one show up while I was just posting in the same section yet.

I just had password trouble and had to log in again. It seems to be case sensitive, which I gotta remember.
I'm so used to ScoopMe format (the only board I've ever belonged to) that there will be a steep learning curve for me at least at first, I fear.
I'm modifying a post! I'm modifying a post! I HAVE AN EDIT BUTTON! WHEE! I see this also has "preview" mode: I'm gonna see what that looks like.

Don't know if that means that when I'm off the board it shows that I'm on, but it does mean that I don't have to remember my silly password and log in each time.

What makes the stars come by people's names? Nan The stars are controlled by the number of posts you make. So far it seems to be in incriments of 10. 10 posts earn you another star. 10 posts is a junior S'Cubie, 20 is a S'Cubie ... no one has yet to hit 30, 40, 50, etc., to see what happens there. But give us a day or two ....

Thanks, David. I'm learning. I'm going to go archive some more of Thread #16 now. But I WANT MY STARS!

I like that face... wacky eyes All that happens if you aren't logged in is apparently you don't get all your special stuff, like picture at the left, etc. You're just a "guest". Also, guests apparently can't participate in the polls/debates. You have to be logged in.
