Who does this insane thing? Raises hand... "Me?"
Well, how else are us daytime and other time zone posters gonna get caught up? And now I have to run away - the real world is calling me, and I must answer. I'm on a mission, I have a quest, I am called.
Actually, I have to drag the girls out of bed, vacuum and go shopping, but that sounded much cooler. More long strings of posts later, talk a lot, S'cubies, so I have a lot to respond to!

Who does this insane thing? Those of us who are online at different times from the all-night partiers. D. (*snark*)

Looks like you all had some good discussions while I was away. Still reading thru the last part and staying caught up with this part.

Okay, so not working. With all the talk about Virgo's, I thought this was interesting from an interview with Harry Groener, the Mayor on BtVS. How much creative input do you have when it comes to the character of the Mayor? I had some input with regards to the Mayor’s character but it was all pretty much on the page. I could add little touches in the scenes that I felt were him. Things that reflected his fastidiousness, his obsessive cleanliness. He seemed a Virgo to me. He seems to be an “everything in its place” kind of guy. Including the bodies. No mess and no foul language. Here's the link: harrygroener.com/mongerint.html

Calling All S'cubies (and especially Rusty).
I just created three new threads on the Interviews & Articles Board for the several articles I copied from the Lost Souls Websites along with their URLs.
Question, are we supposed to copy and paste the whole articles because one had to be split up between three posts, it is so long.
The really lengthy one is a transcript of JM's Q&A from the Harvest Con last month. It is different from what I read from Cleveland, New Moon Rising and what I saw in Chicago. Go and see for yourselves.
One is a good article/interview from Dreamwatch last month (never heard of it but guess it's a magazine).
The last one is just a GOTR concert review (no interviews with JM or any of the other band members). The only reason I posted it (ARE YOU READING THIS, RUSTY?) is because it features a photo of the band all wearing kilts. The photo didn't come accross in the copy and paste though, so you'll have to use the URL to see it at Lost Souls.
Enjoy.

Deborah, have you chosen your Ascended Name yet? Maybe the stars come back when you do. (None is showing now--not even Master S'cubie.) I still haven't thought of one. I must have misunderstood Patti when she offered me the Founder designation because I'd thought that it was an either/or deal. But I see all the other Founders have both so I'll have to think one up. Rae answered my PM asking about my stars and she's going to check with Vlad. Apparently he had to go in and make the necessary adjustment name by name rather than a single fix (poor baby) and he just may not have gotten to my name yet. BTW, I can't see your new avatar, Nan. Just one of those little boxes with the red X in it. Does anyone else not see it either? Thanks for your suggestion about the stars, Nan.

Deborah, as one of the location impaired, I must confess I can't find this topic (interviews & articles) anymore. Is it on the Main board, or one step back on the SSS, as the Fanfiction discussion topic is? I know I've seen it in the past (i.e. it exists), but I've looked on all 3 pages of the Main board without spotting it. LATER: It's on the SSS board, 1 up from Main. I found it. Never mind. Didn't find the kilt pic, though. I'll wait for someone to find and go collect it. PS: Deborah, thanks for alerting me that my avatar wasn't appearing. I'll go back to the bed-crawl until Betsy has time to collect and post the new one for me. *I* see it!

Nan - nice to see your Spike avatar back. It isn't annoying at all. If we all had them, the board might get a little messy. That's the best of all of them I've seen.

Hi - I'm harkening back to a previous discussion. I disagree with Gail that Angel does good for the sake of good. He does good because he is attempting to make amends for his vicious years as Angelus. I do agree that Angel constantly tries to fight down Angelus and refuses to accept him. Angelus was truly demonic. But he also tries to fight down Liam who was rather a degenerate. As he told Buffy - "It's not the demon who needs killing, it's the man." In further despair he asks her "Am I a thing worth saving, am I a righteous man?" He feels he has much to atone for, both as Angelus and as Liam.
As we've talked about, Spike is an anomoly - a vampire who is able to love someone unconditionally. As Spike said, he embraces all parts of himself. Angel does not. Spike was not a bad man, just a bad poet and he is a romantic who does keep going on until he's stopped.
Angel is stricken by guilt for his actions as Angelus, but also for his actions as Liam. "I am weak, I've never been anything else." That weakness allowed Darla to change him. It also allowed him to make love to Buffy and thus unleash his demon side.
I do agree that he can have fun like with Cordelia's clothes but I also agree that he is afraid to let himself go because of the curse. He let himself go once and destroyed almost everything in his life. None of them - Buffy, Giles, Xander, Willow - will ever forget what he did, although they may accept that it was the demon acting. The demon wears Angel's face. Angel has to keep himself tightly controlled both for himself but for everyone around him. What a terrible burden!
When I am in a really bad mood or when I am distracted with worry, I steer clear of everyone as much as I can. I don't blame Angel at all for being wound so tightly. Spike does not have the same burden. It doesn't seem that his crimes as a vampire were as vicious as Angelus' although we don't really see much of his evil side, except of course the killing of the 2 slayers.
I guess I sympathize more with Angel because of his constant struggle to suppress the demon. Spike became much stronger than poor, weak William. Of course he would like himself better as a vampire. Angel regrets Liam as well as Angelus.
Spike is easy to like both as a vampire and as a souled man. Angel is difficult. I guess I just have a weakness for troubled men.
Remember after Buffy stopped Jonathon from killing himself and she was afraid he would ask her to the prom? Giles said it would be nice if she would go with him. She responded with "What am I St. Buffy?" I'm certainly not a saint, but I went to both my proms with boys on the far edge of school society because they asked me and I knew no one else would go with them. The fun, handsome boys always get the girls. Of course all through high school I wanted to be a Maryknoll missionary so that might have had something to do with my decision. I went to college and never again thought about being a nun, though quite often I feel like a literacy missionary in my school.
Sorry for the long post and I do hope I didn't sound pompous or something else equally as unpleasant.
Lori

I couldn't see Nan's new avatar, but I'm thrilled she put back the old one. I love watching Spikey do the bed crawl. We'll have to put that in my fantasy Olympics as an event, along with dwarf-tossing, wizard-slamming, vampire-staking, orc-hunting, etc.
