no, that was not my convention report. Deborah and I were at different conventions. My report is on the website. Oops, my bad. I'm going to reread that. People were posting at Scoopme and also here then weren't they?

You will find my report on the website (link below) under what's new (although, not so new...) its in a little brown box called (I think) patti's cleveland report...something like that. It's long. It has pictures.

Go away for a little while, and you've all moved! Grumble, grumble... Anyway, I took the dream date quiz, answered honestly (given some of the choices) and got - Giles! Yay!!!
Look at it this way, more Spike to go around for the rest of you! (Or less wear on Spike, whatever) I tried three times to take the test, but it wouldn't work for me....If I were able to get past the first question, I'd hope to get Giles as a dream date. Spike is adorable, but I wouldn't want him chomping on my dogs.

Was that someone else or did I just dream it? The picture aren't coming up. Have they been removed? I looked at those just the other day.

I watched another episode of AtS last night. I don't know what it was called, but it was the one where Fred realises it is the blood that makes people see Jasmine for what she is so Fred exposes Angel et al to Jasmine's blood. I've got to say all those people who declared they were the biggest Conner fans were mistaken. I am. I think he is great. The sight of him and Angel singing "Jasmine" was hilarious. It was good to see a teenager not whine and just look happy and confident. Can anyone tell me how many AtS epsiodes I have left? I am relatively spoiler-free for AtS and I don't want to go on any AtS sites and be tempted. I think my favourite characters on AtS (in descending order) are Conner, Fred, Wesley, Gunn, Lorne and tying for last place Angel and Cordelia. I am so glad I shared that with you. I am also absolutely sure that you are all intrigued. ;D Can you tell that I am bored? Oh well, I am going now. My husband and I are watching Surprise and Innocence tonight. Should be good. See you tommorrow. (Please notice the lack of controversy - I need to be rewarded for such good behaviour .)

Sigh, I'll never get to do any of it and will have to live vicariously through all of you. Make sure you do something really exciting okay? Maybe us stay-at-homes can send our respective spouses and offspring to the movies (or just out in the yard) and have a pseudo-convention posting party to make up for it.
I haven't been to a convention since, let's see, a Dr Who con when Emily was three. I don't think I have the stamina anymore... ;D

Hi everyone! I've missed being here. I have been computerless since a day or two after I got home from the Gymnastics meet, and with new rules at work, have been unable to get online at all. Talk about withdrawal! So - I haven't read anything in nearly 3 weeks, and am hoping to catch up with things like EME and Triangles, etc. soon, but will be writing for a while anyway - trying to catch up on that! I see there are some new recs at the fanfic thread - I'm going to seriously pretend I don't see them until I can get a new chapter off myself. James - Al Toon had to cancel at the last minute, so no autograph - sorry! I never ask any of the celebs for autographs, and this was the first time I was going to do so - just for you. Maybe another opportunity will arise... I won't forget. Here's hoping my computer will work for more than a few days this time, and that I'll be able to start popping in again here soon. How is everyone? What have I missed? Mary

Mary, you were much missed! Welcome back! Don't worry about commenting on EME. I only have a few chapters yet to do, so comments on those already written are valuable but not crucial.
Delighted your computer problems seem to have been resolved.

I'm pretty sure which one you mean with the pages and pages of pics, and I also have lost souls...going to go post now... Yes, that was exactly the site I was looking for. I'm exploring the possibility of (gasp) replacing Winnie. Sue

It was good to see a teenager not whine and just look happy and confident. (Please notice the lack of controversy - I need to be rewarded for such good behaviour .) Kerrie, I'd love to reward you, but poor naive child--you foment controversy even unwittingly. (Sue pats you patronizingly on head--just kidding.) Fortunately since this board is much more BtVS than AtS it might slide under the radar. But if you could get into the ScoopMe Archives and read the episode discussions for Angel you would find that Connor-bashing (and the resultant occassional, but passionate defense) is pretty much the equivalent to the B/S vs B/A debate; or the "is Spike really seeking/earning redemption or does it not count because he does it all for selfish reasons?" issue--in other words: huge debate. In other words: In some circles your post would be hyper-controversial. Especially the part about Connor being happy and confident because that had to be the only ep in which he appears that way. Rest of the time he is beyond sullen, brooding and downright antagonistic to the point of....well, don't want to spoil you. Trust me, people hate Connor much much more virulently than Kennedy. His defenders tend to point to his horrifically abusive childhood and his confusion about who to trust. But non-controversial, he ain't. I'll check on how many eps after the one you described.

For those of you who may be interested, the Sunday New York Times Book Review for 7/13/03 features a review of the new Harry Potter. I've copied it and posted it in the "Interviews and Articles" forum. (Sorry, I don't know how to link there. It's the one under the Fan Fictional Forum.) It's a little long, so it's in two consecutive posts -- still pretty easy to read.
The review contains no spoilers, and makes some interesting observations about how different people interpret the whole Harry Potter phenomenon in different ways. Now, what other pop-culture icon do we know that elicits the same intellectual debates? Hmmm. Really gotta think about that one. ;D

Laura,
Don't know if you are still keeping track of who can and can't see Miss Kitty.
But I can't (thinking maybe I could at one point, but know it's been several days now) and I do usually see most everything else.
