Saw the first Angel a little while ago. It was a pretty good ep. for a pilot. I have to say that I like the character much more when he's not around Buffy. I also liked Cordelia alot. I'm looking forward to getting caught up with everyone else. Me too, Caraleigh. Angel seems to get it together better without Buffy. I've seen a couple Angel eps, but didn't know the backstory, so it didn't make much impression. So nice to be able to watch from the beginning.

You're welcome Nan. Angel has a cool car. Thought it was funny a vampire driving a convertible in LA. Guise Will be Guise....(Season Two) Angel thinks he's consulting a swami, but the T'sh Magev is actually an assasin... Magev: "Nice ride." Angel: "Sorry?" Magev: "The car. Very slick." Angel: "Thanks." Magev: "What kind of mileage do you get with that thing?" Angel: "I don't know. 12 in the city, maybe." Magev nods: "Gas hog. Still, probably a chick magnet, right?" Angel: "What? (Magev looks at him) No." Magev: "If you say so." Angel after a moment: "I though we were gonna talk about my problems." Magev: "That car is your problem, pal. Says everything about you." Angel: "The car." Magev: "Yes, the car. You live in L.A. It's all about the car you drive." Angel: "I really don't think..." Magev: "Vampire, living in a city known for its sun - driving a convertible. - Why do you hate yourself?" Angel: "I don't. I mean, I got a deal." Magev: "You got a deal. - Why not a personalized license plate that says 'irony'?"

True - the comaraderie was really missing, especially in Season 7. The lessening of the "tight-knittiness" between them though, began in Season 4 - as soon as they got out of High School, and it just kept deteriorating from there. It was . . . sad. I did miss it. But letting it happen to that bunch of HS buds - the way it really does happen to most of us - is what I loved about BtVS - it's what made it so different from the rest, so head-and-shoulders above the rest. I do understand missing the more flowery romance and togetherness and regretting its passing - but I felt it was made up for, if you know what I mean, by the unique way the series spoke to its viewers, to their real-life experiences. If they were just high school buds, I could probably understand and deal with some deterioration...but Buffy, Xander and Willow were FAR more than simple friends. They were the equivalent of foxhole buddies...and there is a closeness between them that lasts forever. On the positive side, however, I think they were all extremely close for most of Season 5 after some tough sledding in Season 4. Season 6 was all about being DIS-connected...yet the final episode gives a clear message that this is: 1. Unhealthy, and 2. Always redeemable if people love one another enough. I can live with those themes. Season Seven really isn't ALL that disconnected, except for Buffy in episodes 15-20 and Giles...well, I didn't recognize him much except in certain areas. Still, I think it's pretty clear that Buffy, Xander and Willow loved one another greatly...thing is, any terrible situation can put a strain on things. You generally take out your frustrations on those who are most on your side. They're available. I think in my own personal mythical Season 8 everyone reconnects nicely...because that's how it's supposed to be, dammit! The preceding post was brought to you by Cranky Rob. In no way does it change his opinion that Spring is brilliant, even if she depresses him a tad bit sometimes. 'Tis not her fault.

But even foxhole buds lost track of each other when the war was over or new guys joined the unit. Having said that, I must add that I like your Season 8 too, Rob. Just keep writing it and we'll all be happy together.

My thanks to all, especially to Nan (I am so not worthy, and such not a technopagan or technoperson) regarding the downloading, and the zipping, and the unzipping, (Not what you all think!!), and the clicking and the mousing......
BECAUSE, I WAS ABLE TO DOWNLOAD AND OPEN THE VIDEOCLIP. ;D
AND NOW I CAN SEE WHAT Y'ALL SAW ;D
AND, WHOO, HOO, AND HOO-HAW!!
It's not a long clip, but it clearly shows that Ms. Summers, affectionately known as Buffy, was an oh-so-willing, aggressive, partner in her sexcapades with Spike.
She didn't look at all suffering to me.... and, poor JM, having to endure all that straddling, that up and down, and up and down, well.....that there acting job is truly rough! ;D

I am so aggravated. Everything I've downloaded at home has worked...except the buffy/spike sex. It's not fair. This is because I have no life and TPTB won't let me live it vicariously.
I've got unzipperers. I think I have every media player on the internet. I've followed Nan's directions and Betsy's (was that you? I don't recall, I'll have to go back and look.) Nothing. Nada. Zip.
Acrobat Reader is a piece of crap. (I thought I'd just throw that in because it doesn't work either.)

We'll convert the lot of ya . . . . (inserts evil laugh here) . . . right Lee, Lori . . . Welcome to the Dark Side . . . . On the lighter side, or maybe darker side...I have come to enjoy Angel so much...with Spike added, I can't imagine how good it's going to be. I read summaries of the show and thought the show was really bizarre, but when you actually see it come togther, it's a V8 moment. You think...of course...I see it now.

I had trouble with it too, but finally right-clicked on the download icon and it asked what program I wanted to open it with. That's when it finally worked. Maybe you've already tried this, but I'm such a technomoron that for me it's all trial and error.

Maybe you've already tried this, but I'm such a technomoron that for me it's all trial and error. I had two files of this, so I deleted them both and started over. I right clicked and checked out the properties and it's and AVI file. Evidently I don't have an AVI file reader. I tried sending it to the DVX player, still didn't work. I loaded that player from Dave's second link. I think I'll go back and pick up Nan's link and look for a player that specifies AVI type files.

There are still lots of chances for him to annoy me He has made a good effort to win me over with this episode, though. We'll see how he does tomorrow
