Hope you all had a great weekend. Hi Erin! Hope your weekend was fine, too! My son (21) broke his collarbone playing football with his friends. So, no snowboarding for him for a good long time. Boy, is he po'd. He also drives a shift stick, and broke his right side bone, so he's going to have fun begging rides off his brother for a few weeks, who'll make him pay like brothers do, I'm sure. Sounds like it was a banner weekend for some of the S'cubies and their familes. {{{{S'cubies}}}}

Well, I found it. I guess it's really not that great of a picture. His eyes are squinty, but for some reason, when I saw it last night, I thought they looked really blue. I should try going to bed before midnight sometime ktla.trb.com/entertainment/wbnetwork/stv-angel-smv-pg,0,437357.photogallery?index=26 There are several pictures of everyone there. Just go to the box that says "26. James Marsters" and click the down arrow. They look pretty blue (and really pretty) to me! He looks llike he's planning mischief... OK, I got it bad for James Marsters...

Hope you all had a great weekend. Hey Erin. I had a good weekend. How about you? I've been meaning to ask you if you go to many clubs? I have a friend who is in a couple of bands there.

Things are kind of quiet right now - yeah! The family is basically fine. My Mom likes the increased care hospice provides, and even though the doc feels she is in her last year of life, and she can barely talk or move due to the Parkinson's, she retains an active interest in her surroundings and smiles and enjoys things. My older son is still living away from home. He is doing OK taking care of his health and taking that complicated medication and getting to doc appointments. I try not to nag and worry. He calls or stops by frequently, even calling me yesterday to say, "Well, I'm just here alone and kinda bored, so I thought I would call you." WHAT? Calling Mom is LESS boring and MORE attractive than just vegging or watching TV or staring out the window? Wow. I am movin' up in the world!! The recently divorced houseguest and her dog are doing OK, and are being pretty good houseguests, though my dog might disagree. She has been with me since July, trying to get on her feet. She is not quite yet able to get her own place, but she is seriously working on that goal - and I love her, but it will be a relief when she finally does that. She likes to move where I keep various pots and pans. Why?? I go reach for the pan I need, and I can't find it. I have decided it is because, after what her ex did to her, she wants to feel she has some rudimentary power and control - over something, even if it is only my pots and pans. Sigh, sigh, double-sigh.

Hey Erin. I had a good weekend. How about you? I've been meaning to ask you if you go to many clubs? I have a friend who is in a couple of bands there. I used to: Park West, the Metro, the Vic, the late, great Lounge Ax (which you've seen if you've ever seen the movie "High Fidelity"), but not so much now since most of my friends have gotten married and/or had kids. i think the last band i saw live was nick cave and the bad seeds. what bands are your friends in?

Out of all of my injuries, a broken collarbone hasn’t been one. *knocks on wood* How long will be laid up? My sympathies to him AND you and the rest of your family! {{KAREN}}

Uh, well, I'm not sure. I haven't heard from her in a while (she's gotten too cool for Appleton) and her website isn't up anymore. She plays all sorts of musical styles. She was in a 70's retro band for a while and is in a contemporary jazz ensemble with her husband. Who knows what she's doing now. Ever listen to contemporary jazz or 70's retro?

Caraleigh - Congrats on your fine picture - that was my original choice, but I HAD to vote for Giles... Anne, I knew you voted for Giles! (Wonder who the otehr 3 were, I voted for Caraleigh, even tho I posted Giles!) Rae--Thanks for putting up the Spike in a milk mustache pic--it's one of my favorites. Vlad--I had forgotten about you being in the Indy area. I'm thinking Eddie Berlin was paid to fumble! Of course, for Tennesseans, a win-win sitch. Mostly we want the Titans, but when Indianapolis wins its "all because of Peyton" (who, you understand is a GOD in Knoxville, having quarterbacked for UT (which we all know is Univ. of TENNESSEE, not univ of texas)). What a miserable fiasco, but McNair still almost pulled it out. (And after that embarrassing game on Monday night, too!) Dave--Haven't heard much from the NYC S'cubies, but my sister said the roads and sidewalks were pretty clear. On the other hand, Princeton had 20 inches and they shut down the university on Friday. (Which, unfortunately does nothing to delay Carolyn's organic chem test tonight.) Rae--glad to see you are no longer evil! (Evil people don't let nieces do their hair.) Well, I thought I'd have some free time today, but (in the vein of current conversation) just spent 2 hours at the emergency room with my sister's mother-in-law. She lives in Nashville and both her sons are out of state. She accidently took her PM meds with her AM meds and her caregiver panicked and called an ambulance! She's perfectly fine--just embarrassed. Sorry about the other injuries and illnesses, tho. Patti--what were you doing on at 3 AM last night? Vampire hours, my dear. Nicki--I will be mailing the book. I couldn't find it--turned out I sent it to my sister accidently when I mailed her a stack of other books. She's sending it back. Had another short email from Mary S.--still without computer. Well, can't think of anything else to say to procrastinate, I'm not nearly as creative as all of you. (Thought of you all while I was folding sheets earlier, tho.) How come John, Vlad, Dave, Rob, Dev (and where is Len?) never share their house-keeping tips? Thank heavens for FX and TNT and DVDs.

Well, I read the comments on Spike's appearance and how he should wear the hair and the clothes and the prominence and lack thereof of his cheekbones, and all I can say is: Me like Spike. Me like Spike no matter what is going on with the hair, or what end of his usual weight range he is occupying. All I ask is that he continue to wear the snug jeans with some frequency. And do lots of shirtless.

Diane, I'm actually none too hopeful that this would even work, but could Ian try to speak to Anne's doctor to see if he can get the real story? Over here, the doctor might refuse to speak to him based on privacy grounds, but perhaps if Anne or Robin gave consent, you could get a better handle on what's going on, and that way be able to make better preparations -- whatever those are.
I'll be going to Mass today (it's a Catholic holy day), so I'll pray for your family. First I want to thank everyone for their good wishes and prayers. I never turn down either. I will take the advice to Ian and see if he wants to give it a try. As Anne's sibling, maybe they'll talk to him. I've always been one who refused to borrow trouble. It finds you all by itself and needs no help. I'm holding onto the the knowledge that encapsulated tumors and cervical cancers are much easier to cure than the ovarian variety and also the knowledge that Anne is a tough bird with a great attitude. The rest is in wait-and-see mode. To everyone on the injured list, take care of yourself. Rest, keep the hurt part elevated and use the down time to Buffy yourself into happy oblivion. God/Godess Bless.
