Anyone who is actually bored enough to comment on this silly little story may do so here. Not bored! If I was bored I wouldn't bother to comment. Really liked this piece, Rob; the pace was really nice...no sense of "lull" in the story. You have a good ear for the both the "voice" of the characters and their individual speech patterns: "Umm…fyi, the whole seduction bit flies out the window when you make chicken noises," is something I could actually hear Spike saying without resorting to an overabundance of british-isms. Also, it's nice to see the characters in a seriocomic situation that's a bit more comic and less serio. Your Faith and Xander are lovely. And Spike as Santa Claus; truly inspired. Those are my initial impressions...more later.

Anyone who is actually bored enough to comment on this silly little story may do so here. Rob, I was not bored at all! *sigh* A true gift you have. And while this was supposed to be a sexy/funny Buffy/Spike story, I found myself even more enchanted by the Xander/Faith exchanges. I know that you seek to get away from the Sorenson "Chronicles" canon after all this time, but let me say, I hope it isn't permanently. You created so many really special moments. I know that at some point you will hear the call once more and return to the wonderful pairings you have written so brilliantly. This little "one off" simply proves that there is more story there to tell. Thank you for this Christmas gift to Erin...for us all! Vlad

Anyone who is actually bored enough to comment on this silly little story may do so here. If this is an example of you in a silly little story mood, can we keep you there permanently? Loved this fic, Rob! You have such an ear for dialog, for the character's voices (as Vlad and Erin have already commented). But in addition to the voices ("Silent Fight", Buffy making the chicken sounds, but being all breathy and sexy as she does it LOL, "Next time I'm mixin' the nog", "Look, a sale on leather!", "like a chick can fight wearin' that outfit", etc. etc.), you have such a great understanding of the characters themselves. Xander's attempts to always deflect and disarm with humor and distraction. Faith's defensiveness and underlying feelings of unworthiness. Buffy's usual level of slight self-absorption and flightyness that changes in a split second to complete focus when her slayer abilities are needed. Spike's bluff and bluster that he uses to hide his complete soppiness when it comes to someone he loves - as well as his directness and honesty. Dawn's mental toughness that comes from her relationship with a group that will always think of her, as least in a small way, even when they know better, as the young kid that needs to be protected and kept away from things. This is really a very very nice little gem of a story. Just enough plot to let the characters move forward and show themselves to us. Funny and sexy and with a lovely little bit of action with the vamp and the disruption to everyone's lives. Hey, I'd love it just for the visuals of Xander singing and dancing to distract the kiddies followed by Santa Spike alone! Golden, dude, golden! Lola This story should be filmed so they can show it every Christmas! Or at least, it should be pimped all over the place so many many people can read it!

I loved this, Rob. As I've told you before, I love your Faith and Xander. They're so right for each other in your stories. Spike as Santa Claus was hilarious! I could just imagine him all dressed up...mmm...oh, where was I? Oh yes...Spike. I can't seem to get that image out of my head, for some reason. Thanks for writing such a lovely, funny story, Rob.

Bored - I loved this story. There is absolutely nothing wrong with a little feel good fun once in a while. It was sweet. I loved Spike as Santa, too. Dawn definitely called that one. I'll be re-reading this for an uplifting moment as needed.
Thanks,
Anna
Also - quit picking on yourself! I'd give (almost) anything to be able to write like you do.
