I cried but that's not all that astounding as I'd cry for a character who stubbed his/her toe too hard I agree with you about Locke. I'd stay with the people under the hatch if I were him! Emotionally intense. (And I also cried for the entire last 10 minutes of West Wing! Intense idealism gets me in the gut.)

They are really setting us up for a Jack vs. Locke clash of the titons thing. When he said that line, I actually got a little baby shiver down my spine. yeah. Jack doesn't realize that the accident wasn't Locke's fault. Boone climbed up into the plane and it fell down. Still, he did hear Boone whisper, "Locke said not to tell."

I hadn't really thought about who would die.
Boone would probably have been on my short list, but I might also have included Jin and Shannon.
And....I don't think I'm ever going to get Sayid/Shannon. I don't see the attraction (of either one to the other) and I also don't see any chemistry between them. Maybe it's just me.

I thought the actor playing Jack did an excellent job tonight...
Otherwise, I was slightly underwhelmed by the ep. I'd imagined that the episode with the birth of Claire's child would be mind-blowing. And it wasn't, at least not to me.
And when I heard, weeks or months ago, that one character would be killed off, my first thought was Boone, poor guy.
Favorite moment - Charlie and Jin hugging in utter joy over the successful birth.
But the ending and coming attractions, with a war brewing between Jack and Locke (with perhaps Sayid doing the dirty work), is great stuff.
GAIL The Charlie and Jin hug was just so sweet! And I'm really looking forward to the next episode. There's gonna be fireworks!

I wonder what happened..with the wedding. How he angsted that up. Boone with a compound fracture? And Great timing, Claire!! Woohoo!! Yeah, my thoughts, too - weeks and weeks with no medical emergencies, and she chooses NOW to go into labor? Silly girl. And also - Jack had a serious asshole moment with the condescension over the "herbal remedies" thing.

Liking Jin more and more...immediately responds to the cries for help. As does Sawyer. Guess crisis brings out the best in people sometimes. I was really impressed with Sawyer immediately handing over his alcohol supply, myself - no argument, no demands for explanation. Has he changed?

I always thought Sawyer would be right with everyone else in an emergency situation. Most of his talk is just that. Plus, a few people worked together to help him out last week, which might have helped.

Well, he understands the tone if not the words.. and now he's gonna get LOST too.. Oh, for... Cross type him with a donor or nine.. Oh! he knows it! huh. I could donate.. but I'm a zillion miles away. Oh, is SOOO lost!! heeee!! Oh!! heee! Sweet! And yeah, leave it to Sun to find a hypo on an uninhabited island...
Cross-clot test him with the ones who don't know.. Thus showing Jack that he should be less of an asshole, and... Does that determine Rh status, though? I know you can do A, B, O compatability that way, but I'm unsure of Rh status.

I agree Jack got the wrong impression...generally speaking. Still, Locke is somewhat to blame for not sharing his knowledge of the hatch. Who knows how different things might have been if more members of the group had been along? I wish I could say I'll miss Boone more.

Oh, no no no - he's gonna die anyway, don't cut his leg off! I hate having them torture someone I'm just sure they're gonna kill in 20 minutes. First the leg setting, then the apparently amputation.... Don't know if I can watch. I mean, he HAS to die...Shannon off somewhere else, starting her new life, baby being born, Jack's whole speech about how "you're not gonna die" - he's been right at least twice, it's time for him to learn by being wrong.... Oh, jeez. ETA: hiding now. Can't look. Sun's right...he's dying anyway. Won't help. It's wrong. First, do no harm, you son of a bitch.... Oh, good. Relieved. On one level. Although I worry, still, about Jack - 'cause he'd have unnecessarily amputated a leg, knowing it wouldn't help, if left to his own devices. Can't let go, indeed. And...oh, I feel worst for Shannon. She'll get back from her romantic interlude to find that something horrible happened, and she didn't even get to say goodbye. And...what were the boys hugging about? And shaking hands? What, exactly, did they do? Other than run an errand? (And, um, Claire? The baby will deliver itself, most of the time. Quit being so wussy.) And newborns are always so very LARGE on television, aren't they?

And...anyone else notice that Locke's legs might have been traded for Boone's? Still wishing for - other - from Jack. Instead of really dealing, he's off to commit vengeance without knowing the entire story? Maybe. Or maybe he just wants to talk about it? Finally - so, Boone was unredeemable? Or else his death will aid in the redemption of someone else? Oh, and really finally - y'all can have Sawyer, and Sayid, and even Jack, if you want him. I gotta get me some of that Jin action.

Sun can find anything! I think she's secretly helping Shannon and Kate make new clothes and make-up out of secret island ingredients. Actually, the spines were a very clever idea. And she was also the smart "put on the brakes, you can't save him, quit torturing him and yourself" woman. You go, Sun! Glad to see her and Jin managing to be civil to each other to help in the emergency. This may be the start of them starting to communicate again. Sun is developing into another sort of archetypal character - she's all about the Earth Mother. Knows her herbs, no nonsense about what needs to be done and what should NOT be done, can take control of a crisis even from the strongest male figure around, when it's warranted.

Now I'm trying to put a timeline to it all. I figure the wedding had to happen before the big fight and legal stuff with his dad, right? 'Cuz, other than worrying that dad wouldn't make it to the wedding, Jack and him seemed to be getting along OK. And Jack didn't freak about dad having a drink by the pool. So I wonder what went horribly wrong with the marriage? Or is he actually still married and is just stringing poor Sawyer Kate along? Lola Dude, where's the ring? I never saw a ring.
