Hawaii still very very pretty. Sawyer still very very pretty. With his adorable little ponytail. Hurley still very very much my favorite. "There's been chatter." All casual "pretend I'm not talking to you" and giving him a heads up about what's coming. ;D Dude, they so totally could banish you. Maybe it's time you started thinking about how you can "get more" with honey than vinegar, Sawyer darlin'. Put those con man skills to work! WTF? Tear gas or something? But if it's just in the building they are holding Kate in, why all put on masks and why leave? Just a mind-game show for Kate or something more? Flash!Kate. Kate tells new gal all about her life. Huh. So she really is still very early on in her travels if she's just letting that kind of info out. Is con-gal gonna be the one who teaches her how to get along? She's not totally unaware of how to survive if she knew the jewelry con. Ah, they share "bad guy" empathy. Heeee! Bonding over Sawyer, just separated by a lot of time between experiences. Ha! They've dumped Kate in the jungle like a puppy you hope doesn't keep finding its way back! ;D Well, maybe more like two puppies that you've paw-cuffed together . . . 1) I actually don't want to know whether or not such things exist, and 2) I don't want to know how you know about them, if they do. That is all.

Ah - hiding in the bamboo. Good idea! It's saved folks from the polar bear before. What, the Island Monster's into flash photography now? Hurley wants Sawyer to secure Claire's vote by bonding over the baby? "I know you can do it, dude." This should be fascinating to watch. "Hey there, little baby." (waaaah!) "He's not as wrinkly as he was a couple of weeks ago." Priceless!! "Are we safe?" "Are you serious?". Heh! In it's own way, the Kate and Juliette show is almost as amusing as the Hurley and Sawyer review! Well, funny with a side of ouch. Juliette tells Kate that Jack saw her and Sawyer. "You broke his heart." Oh, I don't know. Jack's a big boy. Somehow I don't think that that was his only motivating factor. Very ouchy bit with getting her mad enough to snap the shoulder back in. But the hand over the mouth was a nice touch. ;D

AWESOME! Hurley conned Sawyer!
Huh. Hurley is wise and subtil. "If you're gonna be our leader, you need to do some damage control"
"When Nikki and Paulo died, we all looked to you. Then you tried to steal the diamonds, but we all wanted to look to you"
"Just for today, they can laugh, eat boar, and forget that they're totally screwed" ;D
"I don't think Jack wanted it, either. Sucks for you, dude."
Wise shaman Hurley. Even if he lied through his arse to do it.
Looks like they wanted Jack to go and he didn't want to. Or something...
Welll, it's more because of Locke that he can't go, but close enough.
Apology.
Well, Jack, you weren't much part of their tribe.
"Even Juliet?" and we see Kate's heart break a tiny touch there, and her eyes turn greenish: "You know her better than I do"
"Now we go back"
Cassidy..
Yep, it was her that he set up the blind trust for. So she doesn't tell her Sawyer's name.
One of the things I love, that they've NEVER let up on, are the neat freaky coincidences.
Did you raid the houses for useful tools?
Yay! Jack suggests the "take what we can find" thingie!
Sayid is suspicious, thinking that Juliet is left behind as a plant.
Dammit. and now I'm wondering about it too.
Huh! Juliet flashbacks next week! And more Sayid in Torture mood!!!

Hurley is quite the manipulator. Thankfully, he uses that power for good.
Sun is not going to make it easy for Sawyer to come to the light side, tho.
And just as she doesn't trust Sawyer, Sayid doesn't trust Juliet. Neither do I.
Sawyer holding little Aaron, while the mother of his baby is talking about him was a nice parallel.
Kate is not a very good person.
How many of the Losties have now proved to be murderers? I'm sensing a theme here.

Now Sawyer's boar hunting with Desmond. Working all the angles, eh? Yep. Bribery. Give peopel what they like, and people like meat. I wonder if this whole vote thing is actually true or if Hurley just said it to get Sawyer to act nicer. Ah, they're gonna get to mom at the diner. "Can't help who you love. " Murdered him in cold blood. Hmmmm. I'd say more like in hot blood, but that's just me. So, tonight's themes are love and betrayal, eh? Juliette is doing the patented smug!Other "we know all about you guys" thing. I am so not amused by that, Juliette. What does Kate (or, for that matter, any of the plane folk) know about Jack? Well, she knows he wouldn't kill a patient and so she wouldn't have asked him to do so. Aha!! Juliette did have a key and was faking it!! Ha! I knew it I knew it I knew it! And she did know about the monster! Ha! They all do and they're curious as hell about it. And a bit scared 'cuz they can't figure it out. We've seen that with Benry already. Interesting. They're using their pylons like a dog's electric fence. Nice effect with the smoke. "If I could make you think we were in it together, maybe I wouldn't get left behind again." Um. Wrong. Huh. So, was this was the necklace con-woman was thinking too? And was she also just as wrong? Or was it the other way 'round and Kate got left?

Dammit. and now I'm wondering about it too. Huh! Juliet flashbacks next week! And more Sayid in Torture mood!!! You weren't wondering that before? It'll be interesting to see how well Juliet makes it through a conversation with the human lie detector. Myself, and I know I'm in a wee little minority here, I think she's ultimately going to turn out to be on the Losties side. Mainly because if you consider the kind of person she was when she met the Mittelos Corporation and who she is now, I'm thinking the Others did something that hurt Juliet pretty badly. Yet it's not like she had the option to leave, either. Meaning I suspect it was in order to survive living with the Others that she became more cold, calculating and manipulative. And then she started interacting with Jack, who never had a hidden agenda and was honest with her about where she stood with him and why—not to mention how, even though he didn't particularly like her, he both lied in recanting what he'd said about her wanting to kill Ben and brokered a deal that saved her life simply because he thought it was the right thing to do. Not to mention his kindness after she'd been branded. In other words, he treated her like a person, not a pawn on a chessboard. And I think that's the kind of world she wants to live in and be part of, not Ben's unforgiving little gated community. So now that she has a choice, I believe she'll choose Jack's world over Ben's—and I think it'll turn out that way even if it's revealed she's beginning her stay there as Ben's mole. Plus there's Kate's flashback to consider. When she first laid eyes on Cassidy, the woman was running a con. I know I was half-expecting Cassidy to double-cross Kate for the reward money, and I've gotta believe the possibility was in the back of Kate's mind as well. Yet in the end, Cassidy ended up being worthy of Kate's trust. Maybe the same will be true of Juliet.

"What meeting?" Heee! Yep, Hurley did sucker him. "Wasn't it nice to be nice?" Lamest con ever. Temporary leader, followed by "what the hell are you smoking?" ;D "You're all we've got." Not very flattering, is it, Sawyer? Made them forget they're totally screwed. Gosh, he does have a way of putting things, doesn't he? And now they just happily picnic in the jungle. Kate wanted to help, but he didn't need her to help. Just like mom feels like she didn't need Kate's help. Or at least not in a murderous way. Kate says because of her now he can't leave. Hmmmm. Not really. More like because of Locke blowing up the sub, but whatever, dude. "Now we go back." But you'll search the place and take whatever you can carry, right? Sweet litte goodbye scene between the con-girls. Ah, what's her name is pregnant. So, there's a little Sawyer running around somewhere? Yep. Ep is all about love and betrayal and what not. "She's not coming with us." "Yes, she is. They left her behind too." Um. Yeah. That's . . . probably not gonna go over so well with the gang back at the beach. Aaaaand judging by the scenes from next week, I may have been optimistic when I said "not gonna go over so well".

Dunno, but in reality Elizabeth Mitchell both boxes and is skilled at karate. So she came by the moves honestly. Didn't we find out in her flashback that she was skilled in the martial arts? (Juliet?) Hurley calling Sawyer to task. Priceless. Oooh, did we? I can't remember, but then there are sooo many facts to keep track of! I loved loved loved the whole thing that Hurley did with Sawyer. Too perfect. ;D

Kate fits that definition. So does Sawyer. Nikki and Paolo did, too.

"Not gonna get the Korean vote..." Well, since you're still alive, Sun hasn't told Jin, so you might still get his... Hee! he has no idea how to gut a fish! Heh, and Hurley asks him about it.. Wow, Juliet really had a grip on her. "You say 'they' like you didn't lock me in a cage and watch me break rocks all day" She makes a good point. Dude! I so totally had the same thought! Yeah, flash!Kate is not always the brightest bulb on the tree. **nods nods nods** Why Kath even thought her mom would be happy about her murdering the guy is beyond me. Oh, I'm sure someone is writing it as we type. I'm thinking bear. But probably . . . . egged on by the Monster?

Nope, it was Smokey. The rattling came in and went to the camera-shutter speed. See, now I'm thinking it was Smokey and the Bear. Oh, come on, you know I wasn't gonna just let that one just lie there. Heee!! I think that was pretty satisfying for Kate, eh?

Hurley is quite the manipulator. Thankfully, he uses that power for good. He makes an excellent man behind the throne. She is very much not happy with him yet. It's gonna take more than a few charming smiles to get her past the kidnapping thing, Sawyer my boy. Neither do I. Not further than I can throw her. Benry is manipulative as hell. And Juliette can match him manip for manip. Oh, nice catch! I didn't even notice that nice bit of editing. No, she really is not. Definite theme. Murder and/or manipulation are the watchwords for just many, but not all, of the island folk, me thinks.

I don't think she started out that bad. But . . . I think it will be harder for her to shed her manipulating ways than she thinks. Plus, I'm not totally convinced that she's not running a very long, very deep-cover con job. Either for Benry, or else to try and unseat him. Now, that is a plausible scenario. And that is a very good point as well. Perhaps Cassidy is our clue to the ultimate outcome for Juliette. On the other hand, I still don't trust her right away. I think she's gonna keep on twisting and coniving for a while.
