I think Supernatural just broke me with awesomeness. What a fantastic show that was. I've already watched it twice and want to watch it again - RIGHT NOW!!!! Oh Kripke - you magnificent bastard! That was sheer perfection!
What did I like? How about freaking everything? This was soooooooooooooooooooo good. I loved the meta. Loved it so much. My favorite things - in no particular order:
1. He is a prophet of the Lord. (Chuck in a robe - a bathrobe, but still a robe. Loved Chuck. Loved him)
2. Simpactico! Sam girls! Dean girls! Slash! Oh dear God that was so funny. I'm full frontal here. Hee, hee, hee, hee, hee.
3. Dean and Castiel. Both scenes - made of wonderful. (though yes The Winchester Gospels is a little over the top but otherwise) Man do these guys have great chemistry. Such awesome casting. And the way Castiel told Dean how to save Sam without telling him? So, so great.
4. Laundry. Brooding and pensive shoulders. Bwah.
5. Crying on the inside scene with the publisher. Hee.
6. "You're not going to like it." "I didn't like Hell".
7. "I am a God. A cruel and capricious god." The bad writing line and mentioning bugs and the ghost ship. Bwah!!!!!!!!
8. The non-fight in the diner. " I am frustrated by . . . . . . Hee!
9. Scarey ending with Zachariah. Eeep. What did Chuck see?
10. Chuck talking to Sam and Sam's rationalizations. Chuck telling Sam that he has to know sucking demon blood is wrong. Great scene.
11. You should have seen Luke. Bwah!!!!!!!!!!
12. Dean praying.
And there's so much more. I could just go on and on and on. I loved this. Period. I loved the way it was both funny and yet it pulled the mytharc into the story (unlike Yellow Fever which I disliked) I want to see more of the Prophet Chuck (so very well played) and I want to go watch this again and again. And I'm completely ignoring that promo which looked awful and I am already hating the idea of next week's episode so la la la about that.
Bravo Kripke and company. Bravo!

The one reaction I read this morning on my f-list was someone who said "we know they're brothers—and we don't care." But this person also loved the episode, so clearly there were no hard feelings there.

I didn't find the scene mean-spirited at all.

It wasn't mean--the fact that they acknowledged them as a fan base legitimizes them, actually, IMO. And it was funny. ;D

Besides, if any Wincest fans don't know on at least some level that what they're 'shipping is very, very wrong and icky... well, I'd say they've got bigger problems than some meta commentary that hurt their feelings.

great list, pixi, and i totally agree with all of it! i thought one of many especially funny moments was that the episodes chuck dissed were the same episodes that kripke has said in interviews that he wishes he could take back. ;D also, i thought it was fascinating that dean said "we" about himself and castiel - i think this is the first time he said it about the two of them, which i thought was interesting in and of itself but i also thought it was interesting that he seemed to be treating their opinion as joint, when not so long ago the "we" probably would have been dean and sam. it also reminded me of how it was bobby that dean went to when he came back out of hell, which i've always thought was a very interesting tidbit in this season. and i know - all of this is likely overly deep for talking about this episode.

This is some fantastic meta. About the show, and about the process of writing and creativity.
And I love with all the discussion about God in the episode before last, how none of the characters (not even the angels) had ever seen God nor heard from him directly. And they all had a certain amount of anger towards him and everything that had gone down. And here they actually get to meet God, in a sense, and he apologizes for everything that he put them through. What Sam and Dean wouldn't give for the actual God of their verse to do the same. ETA: Or I suppose what wouldn't they give to hear these things from God directly.

The Winchester Gospels. You've gotta be kidding me. I am not. Kidding you. I love how Castiel says that like he has no concept of a joke. Which he doesn't.
