It's Monday, so we have a whole undiscovered week ahead of us. In that vein. . . Welcome to Part 1088 of the Soulful Spike Society Main Thread! In space, no one can hear you. . . wait, wrong movie. No matter, we have plenty of room to seek out new frontiers. Come explore the not-so-undiscovered country that is our website and wander around it's essays, analyses and awesome fiction. If you are interested in taking names, but not calling names, while talking about politics, religion and ethics take the journey to the perimeter of the galaxy where you'll find the kingdom of forbidden topics. Want to skirt the edges of reality through television-worship? Then warp on over to the I Love, Love, LOVE TV thread where there is plenty of erudite company explore with. Before you set off for the hinterlands however, (especially if you don't want to watch us age gracefully by kicking your butt) make sure you read the rules, play nice and don't post spoilers anywhere but here or beneath the ghost button above. ;D We're still flying after all these years so get out there and go where no one has gone before! ;D Star Trek Inspirational Posters

Um, a small plane just crashed in a subdivision about 1/4 mile down the road from where I work. Holy hell. Not that that's really all that surprising, given that the airport is about 2 1/2 miles from here, but still. That was a close one. They're saying the two people on board didn't survive. Sorry to hear about the fatalities, but very glad it wasn't any closer to you.

Sorry guys. Didn't mean to go all MIA for nearly 3 days. My computer got infected and shut down. A church friend who is a professional IT person came today and got me back online for now.
But now I have to go fix dinner as everything I've touched today has taken 3 times as long to compete as expected -- in other words, life as usual.
And, Monday night TV to look forward to!
It is amazing how totally cut off one feels when one's computer is down (and no branch libraries open on Sunday or MLK day even so really no alternatives). On the other hand -- lots of household and paperwork chores got done!

*sigh*
Connectivity is great stuff, isn't it!
Julia, about thirty seconds since I saw four green lights on the router for the first time today.

Thank you, I needed that. Heh. Two inches of rain so far, and more on the way. Altadena got three, but then, they're near the foothills. I hope the forecast for tomorrow is correct, and there won't be much rain in the morning. I have cats to drag to the veterinary dentist.

Those are just exotic to me; it rarely gets cold enough here to freeze still water, let alone flowing streams, and up in the mountains there's waterfalls rather than brooks, because things are mostly vertical. Julia, so this is like the coolest thing ever, something I almost never see in real life.

We mostly got wind here; a big chunk of the peach tree broke off and is currently blocked up on some lumber until Tobey can get here to take it down. There's still lights off all over the county; luckily that part we missed. It was still and open all day, but the windis picking up again. Julia, need to go look at the satellite photos today
