Battenkill? Did we have Dutch settlers early on in Vermont? Some New Yorkers whose asses Ethan and Ira Allen didn't kick?

Um, a small plane just crashed in a subdivision about 1/4 mile down the road from where I work. Holy hell. Not that that's really all that surprising, given that the airport is about 2 1/2 miles from here, but still. That was a close one. They're saying the two people on board didn't survive. ETA: News station websiteEep! That is very close!

Thank you, I needed that. Heh. Two inches of rain so far, and more on the way. Altadena got three, but then, they're near the foothills. I hope the forecast for tomorrow is correct, and there won't be much rain in the morning. I have cats to drag to the veterinary dentist. We mostly got wind here; a big chunk of the peach tree broke off and is currently blocked up on some lumber until Tobey can get here to take it down. There's still lights off all over the county; luckily that part we missed. It was still and open all day, but the windis picking up again. Julia, need to go look at the satellite photos today Julia Ooooh! I should find you some pictures of frozen Minnehaha Falls sometime. Although, I don't know if I actually have ever taken any of it when frozen . . .

Although, I don't know if I actually have ever taken any of it when frozen . . . Mom took the train to Minnesota once, and made Uncle Frank take her back to Minnehaha Falls three times. My nearest falls (the ones in Tumwater) freeze maybe once every four or five years; there's a big shallow basin in a south-facing valley right before the falls, and the water warms up a little there- it's one of the few big non-glacial streams near me. Julia, spent a while grocery shopping today, and none photographing anything, darn.

"Percussive maintenance." Hee! "24". There's a bit of funny in it this year. I missed last year, but I don't think it's all that necessary to have watched it to follow the story this year. Onjel/Matthew/anyone else watching? Katie Sackoff, Chris Diamantopoulos and Anil Kapoor (from Slumdog Millionaire - love his accent!)

Onjel/Matthew/anyone else watching? Katie Sackoff, Chris Diamantopoulos and Anil Kapoor (from Slumdog Millionaire - love his accent!) I'm watching half-heartedly. I was a bit bored last night. Maybe I have to watch a few episodes to get into it. I do love me some Katie Sackoff, though. And, isn't that SMG's husband playing young Ortiz? He's grown into his face.
