Sometimes when I look at that wonderful, loving, beautiful man I can't believe how I could have gotten so lucky. Diane *appreciating*I think he's the lucky one. On the otherhand, I may have the mineral deposit of a paranoid and fluffy nymphomaniac, but I have the beard and lodestone of a table lamp.

So, more than ten inches of new powder atop four inches of Cascade Concrete equals having to cut the collapsed tarp to let Bacchus out of his pen, so he's wandering around in the yard probably eating stuff he shouldn't.
I need to go out and do a lot more work so he has somewhere to sleep dry tonight, but I came in with my feet frozen and am currently resting up before I go out and go at it again.
I hate this. But I would like to point out, here where we're sane, that this weather pattern (and the one that's buried Cordoba Alaska) was predicted early enough that it was one of the things we discussed in seminars about The Greenhouse Effect in 1973. No, it's not a made-up excuse by "global warming apologists" it's a logical and predictable effect.
Julia, unfortunately science and logic doesn't make my feet any warmer.

Stepping on my soapbox: Has anyone checked Wikipedia today? It's blacked out as a protest to the possible passing of SOPA and PIPA, the so-called anti-piracy bills. SOPA and PIPA were written to protect intellectual property, but are written so as to be open to very broad interpretation. These are not my words. This website explains the bills in fairly simple language.
Look it up. Form your own opinion. It's an eye-opener. Wikipedia is entreating everyone to write their Congressional representatives in protest. If you connect to Wikipedia they will redirect you to your Congressperson and Senator's websites. If the idea of opening the web to censorship appalls you as much as it does me you can write to them and let them know that while it is important to protect copywrights, there are other means that don't involve suppressing the Frist Amendment. And that, my friends, is as political as I plan to ever get. Putting soapbox away now.

Copying and file sharing recognized as a religion in SwedenIn the midst of a worldwide debate about Internet piracy, Swedish authorities have granted official religious status to the Church of Kopimism, which claims it considers CTRL+C and CTRL+V (shortcuts for copy and paste) to be sacred symbols, and that information is holy and copying is a sacrament.Interesting premise. Some people who write books/music say that when they offer their works online for free (after, say a year of sales), that there is always a renewed interest in their works - including people who read online and then go on to buy their books/music/etc. Their actual website is 'black' today in SOPA protest, of course. There is a YouTube out there describing their tenets.

But then CTRL+C and CTRL+V never looked so good in leather pants.

It's done. I've told management my plans. Wonder of wonders: The sky didn't fall. I didn't get my head bit off. They plan to lighten my duties between March and the time I leave. I guess it's true that you're never so appreciated as when you aren't going to be there any more. I'm making myself a Short Timer's Calendar. Congrats!!!

It was the reaction of "management" when several of us dared to discuss the Leather Pants, that gave Alexandra the motivation to make us a special thread. Those were nice pants.

My homework assignments for behavioral health have been to watch reality tv. I am subtly reminded why I've never been interested in watching these shows.

To say nothing of bad behavior, infantilism and rampant, unadulterated selfishness. So Liz, you're saying your years of experience on the S'cubie board doesn't count for this stuff? to all my fellow crazies.
