I mentioned this in the WIP thread a week or so ago; it's finished now, four very silly parts of girly behavior and infantilization played for maximum laughs by two damned good Spander writers, Ladycat and Secondverse, ex Yindagger. "Out of Character" S/X, G/A, W/T, Buffy and Dawn drunk and disorderly, and Angel has a cameo by telephone at the very end: www.livejournal.com/users/ladycat777/576047.html?#cutid1Julia, not badfic; goodfic deconstructing some badfic memes

I've been posting updates for this fic in the WIP thread for the past ten days or so, and when it was finished yesterday I wasn't ready to let go of it, although since it goes through the end of NFA and a bit beyond, that is a silly way to feel. In the comments to the last chapter, I called this fic "meta hurt/comfort," where the hurt was done by ME and Uberaeryn is providing the comfort. It has some moments where a little rethinking of expression couldn't hurt, but is, on the whole, well-written, and convincingly expressive. And it is balm for the wounded soul, with some giggles along the way. Uberaeryn, "This One Does", Giles/Spike with mostly Giles POV, reaching NC-17 in occassional patches, covering the time period from "Pangs" to safe harbor post NFA. www.livejournal.com/tools/memories.bml?user=uberaeryn&keyword=this&filter=allJulia, and "He thinks I'm fat?" may be this weeks funniest moment

This is a Giles/Spike from Lostgirlslair which may be a follow-up to another fic of hers dealing with Giles, already Spike's lover, vamped and then resouled (posted 4/4/05 in "Two Englishmen":http://www.livejournal.com/users/lostgirlslair/49569.html); this is a sad little piece where Spike is trying to get Giles to accept what he is, and move on: www.silpent.com/slightlyfixated/efiction/viewstory.php?sid=165Julia, will investigate further and get back to this post

"The Power of Persuasion" is a Giles/Ethan fic set in the spring between "Tabula Rasa" and "Two to Go"; Giles is in England, making a living by freelance translations of spells and prophecies, and Etha's been cut loose by The INitiative after they've given him... a lot to think about, to say the least. NC-17, as one would expect from a collaboration between Jane Davitt and Wesleysgirl, and as well plotted and written as is also to be expected from these writers. www.livejournal.com/tools/memories.bml?user=janedavitt&keyword=PowerofPersuasionG/E&filter=allThese writers are also very good at moving their fics to their personal archives as they are finished; I'll add those links to this post as they become available. To whit: home.comcast.net/~wesleysgirl/fanfiction/power.htmlJulia, very satisfying read

Eloise Bright is a well regarded but rather repetitive writer of mostly Giles, Wesley, and Giles/Wesley fic; I read most of what she writes but find it rarely rises to the level of making me want to share it with everyone. This piece, for the Happy Wes Ficathon (the masterlist to which I have yet to find) is a divertissmant in three parts called "Benighted". It is mildly amusing but I feel need of being mildly amused tonight, so, here it is: www.livejournal.com/tools/memories.bml?user=eloise_bright&keyword=Happy+Wes+ficathon&filter=allJulia, wishing she'd find a cowriter with a strong sense of plot and a more dynamic grasp of character to share here undeniable mechanical and descriptive skills with

From DoyleSB4: Wes/Gunn, barely PG, for the Happy Wes Ficathon. "Domination", whereby a game of Risk in the doldrums after they're all fired by Angel leads to some very funny arguing, and so on: www.livejournal.com/users/doyle_sb4/341651.html?#cutid1Julia, was fearing there'd be no fic at all today!

I really like this. I have no idea how to describe it, except to say it's S/X/We, Dr/E, L/Fa, Wi/O, C/D(ghost), Gu/Fr, with appearances by Angel, Connor, Anya, Buffy and Giles, and the name makes a lot of sense if you don't think about it too hard. Sorrell, "Tautology" PG-13 or very soft R www.livejournal.com/community/btvs_slash/148158.html#cutid1Julia, nice pencil-sketch sort of fic

Glossing has a very light touch with dialogue and description which, in this NC-17 Giles/Xander, starting immediately after "Grave" leaves much unsaid, although everything essential left clearly apparent: www.livejournal.com/users/glossing/159564.html?view=3240268Julia, and having been interrupted about thirty times while writing this, I've forgotten the title

Wesleysgirl is playing in the "Reality Bends" verse today- not that you have to know that long RP to appreciate this ficlet. Just to know that Spike and Wes are together, living in New York, after a very AU AtS s5, in touch with both Angel and the Slayers and Watchers. "Attraction": www.livejournal.com/users/wesleysgirl/350862.html?view=4886158Julia, nice bit of rescue/h/c

Estepheia has a particular affinity for Ethan- which is appropriate, as she must be channeling all sorts of mystical power to write as well as she does, in a second language (her first is German). This is for the Ethan ficathon, Ethan/Spike, and a kiss: www.livejournal.com/users/estepheia/452318.html?view=3475934 (two parts, link to part one in the Author's Notes) Julia, there are not words of praise sufficient to describe this

"Make You Hurt" by killerweasel. Lyndsey AU after "Reunion". Rated by the author as at least an R. This fic was rec'ed by Karen on the LJ Communities thread. It's now complete and can be found in killerweasel's memories here: www.livejournal.com/tools/memories.bml?user=killerweasel&keyword=Make+You+Hurt&filter=all I haven't read this fic myself, but in the author's notes it does say that it contains slash. I thought that this would be the appropriate place for it.

This came across my Flist Sunday, and I've been trying to find it since; thanks be for The Sunnydale Herald. Stoptocheer, "The Beginning, and Another Beginning, and some stuff that happened in the Middle" Xander/Giles, R, barely, all Xanderbabble and entirely lovable. www.livejournal.com/users/stoptocheer/387556.htmlJulia, and may I just say how much I appreciate slash fics where both parties act like guys?
