CHAPTER IV: COLLISION What's in a name? Why are labels so important? How can something be fully explained out of the context of it's entirety? What happens when definitions collide? Join Erin as she identifies the nature of what this episode was about. Erin's review of HEROES: Collision can be found in the HEROES: EMERGENCE area of the S'cubie website. As always, be sure to drop by the discussion thread here and let her (and the rest of us!) know what you thought. It's jsut the right thing to do. Vlad

LATEST UPDATE:
Ian had surgery yesterday to insert a feeding tube into his stomach. Barring complications he will come home tomorrow, Saturday. He doesn't understand why he's in such pain from what he was told was a minor procedure. I told him that it might have been minor for the doctors, but for his body it was major surgery. They might have done it arthroscopically, but it still entailed punching through the many layers of the abdominal wall into the stomach. Ouch.
Anyway, barring complications, he'll be coming home on tomorrow (at last!) I don't know how long he'll have to keep the tube in, but he's going to be trained in how to care for the tube by himself. I hope they train me too. Ian might know all there is to know about mechanical things, but I don't think he believes in bacteria.
I'm so hopeful that he's finally coming home. I miss him a lot.
And, as a plus, he's been in a no-smoking facility for over two weeks. Maybe this is what he needs to quit? Huh?

Well he's had to stay an extra couple of days because of pain and the incision taking longer to heal than expected, but HEsS BEING RELIEASED TOMORROW MORNING! He's not going to have a feeding pump, but will inject his food formula directly, so he'll have complete control over what/how much he takes.
I'm so excited! I missed him so much.

Well, I had him for less than 24 hours and now Ian's back in the hospital. He tried feeding himself through his tube, but threw up everything. He was so weak and faded looking I debated whether to call the ambulance. However, he was able to make it to the car--even though he needed a wheelchair to make it into the hospital.
Anyway, he's become such a regular that the admission took only 15 minutes and the nurses all came running when they heard he was back.
I'm so down I forgot what up looks like.

Okay... let me jsut start out with... Vlad's been a bad, bad lad. Yup, I know you are all shocked. What does this badness entail? Well, let's jsut say it's one of hte seven deadlies. Also known as a really cute South American critter prone to moving really, really slow. Yup, I had a very nice, life-altering vacation and, well, it was jsut hard to get back into the swing of things. But, I am back! And, hopefully, I have corrected this. For today, there is not one, but (yeah, wait for it....wait for it...) THREE... Yup! That's right! Both Erin and Sara were a pair of busy beavers over the holidays and whipped up these wonderful treats for you. You have: Episode 1.5 "Hiros" by Sara Episode 1.6 "Better Halves" by Erin and... Episode 1.8 "Seven Minutes to Midnight by Erin! I mean if I had to include anymore goodness in here I would start feeling like Ron Popeil So drop by the website and the HEROES:Emergence area and check out these puppies. You won't be disappointed. And don't forget to slip on by the discussion threads here on the board and let these wonderful reviewers know what a super job they do. Vlad

Man, has our staff been busy or what? Evidently someone passed out an entire stash of Pixiperk® to our reviewers. What? Saddened you didn't get your own? Well, that doesn't mean you can't delight in the indulgences of others. After all, it is Smutday®. Indulgence is where it's at!
So, here goes... these guys didn't hold a thing back! Read their naked, raw words graphically in view for everyone. Yes, everyone. They are so...brazen!
The super-heroines are back! And faster than you can clink rings and say "Wondertwins," (No Spring, refasten your bra...not those wonder twins. ) these gals got themselves completely caught up with the entire first half of the season. Be sure to check out all their wordy goodness. Review signings coming soon to a Barnes & Noble near you. I heard there may be tights involved.
"Nothing to Hide" by Sara "Homecoming" by Sara "Six Months Ago" by Erin "Fallout" by Sara
All of the above may be found in the HEROES: Emergence area of hte S'cubie website. Don;t forget to stop by the appropriate thread here on the message board and let these freaks...errr....heroes know whatyou think.
But Erin didn't rest on her super achievements. Like any responsible alter ego, she went back to her 9-5 job. And yup, there's a whole new analysis of AtS jsut awaiting your perusal.
REUNION: Shock to the System
The above analysis and many others like it may be found in the Angelphile area of the S'cubie website. Erin takes advice and comments (poorly at times, but she does take them ) on the appropriate threads here on the message board.
And that's about it for now my darlin' S'cubiekins... enjoy your Smutday! Throw caution (an any unnecessary undergarments) to the the wind!
Oh.. and one more thing....GO COLTS! Superbowl Bound! Vlad

Folks, the amazing has been done. The Heroes: Emergence reviews have been caught up. Yup! We are current all the way to the last week! How have these intrepid her... err...writers managed it? Who knows? They are mutants. Freaks. Outcasts. Drop by the HEROES: Emergence area on the S'cubie website to read the latest, "Godsend," by Erin. Then fly on over to the related Board thread and give us your thoughts on her thoughts on what the show's creators are thinking. Or, you know, just tell her good job. She'll appreciate that too...I think. And a reminder... our two wonderful writers, Sara and Erin have caught up the reviews in the last week or so. Make sure you go back and catch any you might have missed. Vlad

Which reminds me: I fixed the smilies, y'all. You can use the #shortcuts# you were used to or check the standard line above when you post. There's a new drop-down thing available that says "View all smilies" where you'll see the majority of the ones you can find on the Big Board o' Smilies. This revelation is courtesy of Onjel, who found the coding and Sara who told me about it. So... Happy posting! P.S. If the #shortcuts# break again, we'll figure something out. Right now, they work. Fingers crossed. Oh, and if anybody contacts PB and asks why the supposedly-deleted #shortcuts# still work, first Erin will mock you mercilessly in public then I will cyber-negate your S'cubiedom and afterward Rachael will lead all us techs in a hunt to find your RL a$$ and despine you. Just sayin.

Sara may be off in Hawaii [ bitca] but that doesn't mean that she is enjoying the warmth while giving you the cold shoulder (and every other part of your anatomy if you are in the upper half of the US.) She left behind a very warming present, indeed... an all-new... Indeed, while she works on her tan and gets the cabana boy to spread lotion on her back as she sips Mai Tais, you can have the distinct thrill of reading her thoughts on the Heroes episode, The Fix. Sara's review may be found in the Heroes: Emergence area of the S'cubie website. Go, read and enjoy! And, afterwards, be sure to slink on over to the discussion thread and make your comments. I am sure that Sara can hardly sleep at night in that 70+ degree temperature, the sounds of the waves crashing on the beach, wondering if you all liked it. Really! And that's it for now. This is Vlad saying: ALOHA!

I have quite belatedly added some Valentine's Day things to the Glamours. The pictures aren't very organized and some of them need to be made smaller, which I am either too stoooopid to accomplish this morning or I haven't got the proper software. Either way, welcome to 'em! Fair warning, though: if anybody puts the stretchy-making bars in their profile, please alter the size or a TP will need do it for you. If you don't know how, please ask! And, as always, feel free to snurch the images for your own Photobucket (or whichever) account.

Hi S'cubies, My daughter goes into hospital on Monday for major bladder surgery (she'll be having the surgery on Wednesday). Any good thoughts from my fellow S'cubies would be appreciated. Thank you. I'll be staying with my daughter in hospital, but I'll let you all know how the surgery goes as soon as I can. I hope that you're all well. Cal I can't believe I'm having to type this, but my daughter's surgery was cancelled at just before midnight last night. She had undergone seven days of preparation at home, followed by two days of invasive and traumatic procedures in the hospital, which she coped with incredibly well. We went to bed last night, with everything planned to go ahead first thing this morning, but were woken up to be told that her surgery had been cancelled because they needed her operating theatre for another patient. I can't even begin to find the words to describe how we're feeling right now. My daughter's surgeon is absolutely livid that this has happened, and we're in the process of making a complaint to the hospital authorities about it. Her surgeon told us that cancelling her surgery when the hospital did is no different than starting an operation and then being told to stop half way through. The emotional and physical trauma that my girl has been through is appalling. Her surgeon has managed to rearrange the surgery for next Wednesday. So she has to go back in on Monday and start the process all over again. So we're back to square one again. Kirsty is an emotional wreck right now. To get so close, only to have it snatched away at the last minute is devastating. Now she's got to go through it all over again. Thanks for all of your messages of support last week. Your continued good thoughts would be appreciated.
