That sounds like a brilliant idea and you are a brave lady for undertaking such a task, what with having to wade through all those demented postings. Could you manage to make it brief I wonder?
Waiting in awe for the results.

Of course I have listed my birth date in vampire years.
Had I known about the Sacto gig I might have been tempted, but felt demographically challenged about actually going.

(This is an historic post.) ( and another urging to Alexandra *waves hoping she'll see him and post* ) I have already reserved the web site.It is: www.geocities.com/scubiefan/Mind you, the page posted there is merely temporary, a place holder if you will. The actual site would appear much nicer. If the idea is nixed by Alexandra or the group in general, I will let the page fade. I also have an official email that could be used to send things in for posting to the site: scubiefan@yahoo.com (I tried for just "scubie" folks, but it was already reserved.) This would be great. We've all posted links to things we thought the group might be interested in, maybe we could archieve them on the website. Have video clips, fic etc. I don't know the possibilities or limitations.Plus we don't want to over burden our Techno Pagan.
The only thing I would question is the wisdom of having a posting thread there. We have exposure here, and Scoopme attracts people with coherent thought processes, (if not all S'Cubie lovers), and that's an advantage. Thoughts?

Rusty, if you do this, I would love to also place it on the potential S'cubie website and credit you as it's creator.
*is jsut smiling* I love the way this place is growing! Everyone seems so enthused and is having such a wonderful time.

I agree with you on the posting thread concept and that is why I am hesitant. However, we (I) do need a way of contacting individuals privately if they are to be involved in the creation of this site. And I want everyone involved. While I can provide my technical expertise in it's creation, it's going totake the creative talent of all of us to make it the fun and interesting place I would want it to be.
I do want it to be a "supplementary site", primarily holding permanent data for the discussions. I believe this will help ease folks to catch up on things and reference things. I only want it to add to the chats we have, and in no way take anything away from them.

I mosey-ed on over to the site, looking good for a not yet started site!
Just wanted to clear something up. Isn't S'cubie pronounced Skew-bee as in a skewed line or the first sylable of cubed? Just wanted to know whether we had reached at concensus on this.
Great job so far vlad!

I live in a University area, so it is very multicultural and the local grocery sells Wheatabix. It caught my eye one day and I looked at the box and thought it just looked awful - like Shredded Wheat's emaciated English cousin. I was curious about it, but not curious enough to buy it.
I do not doubt "soggy" is a feature. My exposure to the cooking of the British Isles has been minimal, but still almost more than this poor Italian-American's palate could handle (all 4 grandparents from the old country!). There is a reason you don't see "British" restaurants on every street corner.

An engineer nitpicking on a linguistic matter? Hrummph! *laughing* Yes, I suppose it should. It is being amended as we speak.

Thank you. I kind of like the lilt the skew gives. I've also just indoctrinated a new e-mail address. waterscubie@yahoo.ca should anyone feel the need to get in touch. I have not been able to change my user profile, so maybe we can just post the addresses on the new site.

I lived in San Francisco for 19 years until I had a very bad year and returned to Chicago, my home town, at a time when I was particularly vulnerable to my family's urgings. But I really loved living there and miss it very much. I've only been back to visit twice since I left in 1995 because it is so bittersweet. As it happens I was just there last month staying with my friend in Sonoma. The torrential rain storms kept me out of the City though except for two days of my visit.

vlad - I like the idea. It would allow us to just put a "link" in Alexandra's opening message in the Misc board, as far as any info on VHIN or S'cubies goes. And I like the idea of some email privacy. I have a job where I have to be careful of that, so I've been more reluctant than I'd like to give details about myself.
And we could get back to concentrating on discussing BtVS - particularly Spike/JM on this board.
Also, I would love to do Spike-centric reviews of the episodes. Of course, we've probably only got what . . . 10 left? I could use the FX schedule to do some on old shows.
I guess we just have to be OK with an uncertain future for now.

Vlad, how very grand! Technopagen Extrordinaire is right. I've always wondered where websites come from. Who is the Websight Fairy who grants them to worthy seekers? How are they created. It's all a magical mystery to me.
Anyway, this is all very exciting. Can I just make a wee suggestion? This is really quite petty but when I was reading the text an extra word for the following sentence popped into my head.
Instead of saying:
"Probably about the first time a certain blonde vampire appeared at the beginning of BTVS, season 2."
What do you think about saying:
"Probably about the first time a certain bottle-blonde vampire appeared at the beginning of BTVS, season 2."
All I did was add the word "bottle" before "blonde". Actually, maybe "peroxide blonde" would sound better.
This feeble and petty suggestion is all I have to contribute, I'm afraid.
Thanks for all your creative efforts on our behalf.
