WOW!!! That's all I can say after reading Spring's analysis of "Innocence" - one of my fave Buffy episodes ever for its gut-wrenching portrayal of love, betrayal and all the stuff Spring covered (only I could never express my thoughts as eloquently as Spring did).
Spring, I congratulate you on another wonderful analysis. As always, you bring up so many interesting ideas that it makes want to rush home and re-watch the episodes (which I do when I get off work). You really get to the heart of the episdoe and explore all its hidden meanings, themes, implications, etc. I absolutely love them!
Please, please keep them coming!!!

In the Very Special Selections on the S'cubie Website, I have added the Gigi/Buffy Empowerment thread. Take a look if you haven't already read them all. Heck, take a look anyway. After all, I did go to the effort *L*
Hope you enjoy!

Lee, how did you find Spring's review of Innocence? When I go to the S'cubie site and to Spring's analyses, the last ep listed is Surprise. No Innocence. I sent Vlad a post wondering if perhaps he'd failed to post a link when listing it, but if you found it, HOW did you do it?

Nan -
How I found Spring's analysis. Go the main page of the 'Scubies website (the What's New section) and click on the Spikecentricity button. That will take you to Spring's analyses. Scroll down and "Innocence" should be listed. I just tried it again and was able to get to it. Good luck!! It's a great review!

Nan, I replied to your email almost immediately. And I jsut now was scanning hte board and see that hours later you still seem to be unable to find Innocence. I assure you it is there. I just went to look. It's posted just as all the rest of them are. I really don't know what may be wrong. Please folks, if anyone else is having problems with viewing Spring's Innocence analysis, please post here or email me at scubiefan@yahoo.com
The only solution I can think of , is that your browser isn't refreshing the page. Try hitting reload/refresh on your browser while viewing the analyses page.

Please put me on the list of people who want to borrow that andromeda tape... I can be contacted at juliescubie@yahoo.com. And is anyone here planning to go to the screening of Chance in Sacramento on March 25? I really want to go, although I'm not sure if that's a valid enough reason to miss work. Julie A

I think a spin off without Spike would be an incredibly bad idea. Has ME checked the ratings of their shows lately? Bufy and Angel are both down, and Firefly was flat out cancelled. I know that they sort of pride themselves on doing things regardless of ratings, but TV is not a medium where a creator really has that luxury. And I can't think of a character that would be as good at guarunteeing at least some audience as Spike. I know I would watch any spin off that had Spike in it, no matter who else was in it, where it was, what else was happening, whatever form Spike showed up in. I would watch him in a show with Faith as the slayer and most of the rest of the scoobies, and I would watch him in a show set five hundred years from now (vampires don't age!) as the captain of a space ship with Buffy and Dawn's descendents as crew. I mean, really. Anything! And I'm sure there are a lot of other loyal spike fans out there. What kind of a draw that can be counted on does Andrew or Kennedy have?

Alexandra, we're so far down now that the editors cleaned the Ep Board (thanks for finding out what was going on Watergal)should we move so we're higher up for Tuesday posts?

I loved your review of Innocence. Being Xander-centric I was particularly impressed with the way you drew his relationship with Cordy. Their attraction was physical and nothing more, and they pretty much used each other. Cordy was honest enough to recognize it for what it was...at least in this episode. I also have a sense of relief that Xander didn't pursue anything like this with Willow right on the heels of Buffy's rejection. He didn't really notice Willow in that way until he began working his way toward acceptance of Buffy's decision to remain friends.
Cordy, however, was disposable to him and he to her. When I look back at Xander and Cordy's pseudo-relationship now, I look back at it fondly because they verrry slowly developed respectful feelings toward one another, no matter how much they pain they caused. They parted friends, and did a lot to help each other grow up.

Hey all, Yep, it was little old me who moved the posts -- it's sooo hard to keep up with the boards because I've been in the middle of my move to L.A., so I haven't been able to tidy up the Episode Board as much as I used to. I had some time yesterday, and took up the task of cleaning up the place a bit. There's a larger learning curve than we anticipated with our readership with keeping posts in the appropriate places, hence me moving things. I would like to commend each and every one of you for doing such an an amazing job of keeping your area tidy here. You're the reason ScoopMe is the place to be! And congrats on the great research, watergal! Kara Editor

Thanks, Vlad--I found the review of Innocence this time. Don't know why it wouldn't appear for me before.
A particularly good one, with the references to Shakespeare's As You Like It! Thanks, Vlad! Thanks, Spring!

Well, isn't that a nice note! And your research re views of Riley was noticed, Watergal! We're not only present and tolerated, we're tidy and NOTICED!
I'm just all a-tingle!

Lee, I tried to reply to your off-board post, but somehow my reply bounced as undeliverable.
Since all I said was: *Yes, we'll take it under advisement and see how things work out later,* it's not worth trying to resend it. I assume that's OK with you.

If I had an edit button, I'd use it (often!).
I see that I mistook: the research Kara was referencing was Watergal's investigation into the explosion of posts on the Miscellaneous board. Admirable and praiseworthy, but different from the Riley research.
My bad.

I got tangled. The Riley reserach was Diane's, not Watergal's. Please, Diane, do not have hurt feelings that I forgot who did what. I would claim advancing age, except that I've always had trouble keeping track of which belongs to who.
Apologies,
Nan
