Can someone please recap the first 15 minutes of the episode? I missed it! Suns' eye this time. Definite flirtage between Jack & Kate about his tat. Charley said they were "verbally copulating." Sun lookde sad. Jin was a waiter at a party. He's poor, she's NOT. Can I just say that I NEW the "lessons" were English.

So we learned a bit about our Korean couple - interesting that he was the pauper going after the princess. I do think they truly love each other, though things have gotten all screwed up between them, due to the sort of . . . deal with the devil that Jin made to win Sun's hand. These two actors do a wonderful job.
I did think that Sun's English was way too good for a Korean who had only been taking lessons, but didn't seem to otherwise have any exposure.
They are certainly hitting the "black/white" theme again (as with the backgammon pieces) with those two stones found in the skeleton's little bag. Seemed very Yin-Yang. Our characters have all exhibited marked duality and so has the island.
Overall, I'm getting a"your life is what you make it" theme for this series right now, with life on an island that literally responds to what you really want, providing the metaphor.

Patti - what was the first scene you saw? The we can be sure we tell you everything up til then. Lola

I just kept thinking that the diamond doesn't mean much on that island or in the marriage. Much better to get a flower from a nice, decent guy who treats you good. Like Sawyer and Sayid working together. I kept wondering if the water would still be there. I see they didn't cut up ALL the water bottles. I'm just glad Charley stepped on bees, not snakes. Bees and dead bodies don't bother me, but snakes. AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH Anybody else think how much cheaper this show will be to produce if they spend a lot of time in those "caves"? Were those gemstones that Jack found in the pouch? I really liked the scenes with Locke and Charley. "Just 'cause I'm over 40 doesn't mean I'm deaf." Locke is definitely making himself the shaman. "have faith" "give something to the island" "look up" Sun had some spirit once. She definitely has the abused wife vibe--I'll do whatever my husband wants in order to avoid the abuse. Was Jin ever the nice, sweet guy he seemed or was it doing his father-in-law's obviously very dirty work what made him mean? Can he be redeemed? Did Sun think so when she stayed with him or do she feel, like many abused woman, that she deserves what she gets? Does anyone else think Kate might have moved to the caves if Jack hadn't just assumed she'd be moving? I'm glad they're making some serious plans, but it would make sense to have a rotating look-out on the beach. "C's actually" Looking down and comparing they look more like A's. ;D

Can someone please recap the first 15 minutes of the episode? I missed it! Erin, I'll probably go too far into it, but Jack, Kate, Locke, and Charlie go to get the water Jack found last week. They get there, there's a nice cool cave, shelter, etc. Jack says they need to gather supplies from the wreck of the old plane - which is as it turns out, not part of their plane. Charlie slips away to have some of his drug but Locke stops him by telling him he's standing on a huge beehive. The beehive breaks they all run and Kate discovers an old body - there are two - male and female, at least 50 years old (in the sheltered area- no signs of violence). Meanwhile back on the beach we see flashbacks of Sun and Jin - She was the daughter of a Korean Mafia guy apparently - he was a waiter. I think that should get you up to where you were. Maybe.

I knew she spoke English when she asked Jin if she could go try to explain things to the others and he asked her 'and how could you do that'.

I tried to fill her in - but probably left out important parts. She's gone ...hope she'll be back soon!

Lola yes, Locke is sure the god figure on this island, isn't he? And he's with Jack. I would have definitely gone to the caves and the waterfall myself. I don't understand the reasoning behind all those people who wouldn't go. Would have been so easy to just take turns being on watch at the beach. Two people a day spend the day on the beach, keeping the fire going...next day someone else's turn. I guess they just can't stand to face things yet. Captain falafel.....I was disappointed in him. dang Sawyer's dimples are cute.... And Kate was SO disappointed that Jack's attention wasn't on her behind! LOL!!! Hurley must be using Energizer batteries....again with the cd player! But it was a very apropos song.

I did notice that, and I don't think it was coincidence either. I like getting to know all our main characters better, and part of me is anxious for when they do the Hurley flashbacks, and the Claire flashbacks, and they show Sayid's and Sawyer's backs flashing - uh - I mean, flashbacks . . .etc. But part of me is anxious to get that "background" part over with, and begin learning about the island proper.
ERIN: Jin fishes; Sun watches Kate and Jack flirt, then watches a bunch go off to get water. Jin kills a fish. Flashback to Korea. We learn that Sun is from a wealthy family, but she is sneaking around with Jin, who is working at her father's party as a waiter in the flashback. They meet secretly and talk marriage. Jin promises her that he will talk her father into letting them get married. Back at the island, Jin attacks Michael viciously, for no apparent reason. Sawyer and Sayid step in to get Jin off Michael. Sawyer and Sayid get all wet and look MAHVELOUS! Back in the jungle, they find the caves and water. Charlie sneaks away for a fix, and accidentally stands on a bee hive. Locke sees this and tells him to be very still. Back on the beach, they handcuff Jin to part of the plane to control him. Michael claims he's done nothing to deserve the attack. Flashback to Korea. Jin has gotten Sun's father to agree to marriage, but he has had to agree to work for the father for at least a year. Back at the cave site, Charlie breaks through the hive and they all run for the cave. Kate sees the skeletons. ----------------------------

I temporarily interupt this posting thread for a public service anouncement.
Something wonderous is occuring:
The moon is going away.
Thank you very much.
That is all.
