I noticed the not starting with an eye thing. But that's mostly because when I went to dinner with two friends and we were all talking about the show (OMG, everyone is watching this - we've gone mainstream!) I pointed out the eye thing. They were all impressed and I totally didn't tell them that I got the idea from a board I visit. ;D Lola but they might be YEARNING for a place to discuss the show!

Yes - also - butterfly vs moth comparison by Locke (butterfly gets the attention, but moth is actually stronger and swifter - something like that) And Charlie's "brother" saying he was the pretty one out front who would get the attention, but Charlie was the one who had the song-writing/musical talent. By the way: Did everyone think they were actually brothers? I had this feeling they were just calling themselves brothers, thought of themselves as brothers - but weren't actually brothers. And how about Charlie being so religious? Nice touch and nice depth added to the character. That confession scene was great. Wow. Hadn't noticed all the "brother" comparisons. Neat! I think they really were brothers. Something about the way he said "little brother" and then the stuff about looking out for him. Seemed very "real" brother to me. Doesn't have to mean blood kin, but I'd bet at least raised as brothers. Lola

Adding to Patti's reason: We also do it as a reminder to folks that haven't seen the show yet because they taped it and maybe are "late" by a day or two to catching up on the board, that there is a good chance of spoilers being in that particular thread for the latest episode. While we ask folk to come to this thread for the ontopic discussion after the airing, we also don't wanna stop them from talking in the Main thread about it. Admittedly, it's sorta vestigial, but it does serve a purpose, much like our tonsils: Don't need 'em, can actually cause a problem, but they DO do something and we are better off leavin' them alone until they cause one.. Vlad Uh . . . well, if I were Queen of S'cubieland, I would order a tonsilectomy immediately!

Is it from some show or book? It's kinda a fan fic phrase. I tend to see it at fic sites or on LJ's when people are posting stories and so on. Like, "my OTP is Spuffy" or "A/B is my OTP". I myself am fond of saying "Spike/Concrete Block is my OTP!" ;D Lola

You and Patti are scaring me. Have good good friends in RL possibly read my posts here!? **flees in terror, hides under bed with pillow over head** ;D ;D Lola (Actually, with both of them I have in the past casually mentioned the idea of posting on a BB about a show they like and got one "OMG I would never have the guts or the time to do that" and one "OMG that's so nerdy/geeky/lame". I'll let you guess which is the one who is a closer friend. ;D )

Vlad I want more bees, only this time sending folks diving into the pool. Or another fight with several folks wrestling in the surf . . with, like the tearing of shirts and so on. Or perhaps the accidental eating of halucinogenic island plants leading to a wild island orgy and . . . . um. Oops. Network TV, right? Well. Never mind. ;D Lola

The other person actually sounds like they would enjoy it and if you were clsoer to them, you would probably try to drag them along. Vlad, the wise
