Actually, I noticed last night, during Yoko Factor, how Buffy's "I can see why there is no ancient prophecy about a Slayer and her friends" reminded me of recent Buffy outbursts. And I wondered if we are not going to see a very similar "COMBO" ending to Season 7. Not exactly the same, by any means, but I am thinking that it will be very important for each and every member to there, and at full strength.

Hey there all, In going over my printout of Buffy episodes last night I realized that Riley didn't take off until "Where the Wild Things Are" (if I've got that right). This means that instead of just four more episode reviews/postings left for me to review (till the end of Season 4) I actually have another fourteen to go if I want to track the response to Riley during his entire time on the show. So, just to let you know, the end of this week is definitely out. Sorry I can't work on this at home- no computer of my own. And I know you'll excuse me if my *spare* time at work during mid-week is consumed by keeping up with and contributing to the postings about the new episodes. Oh, btw, I enjoyed reading all the recent analyses people have posted about power as related to gender on Buffy. They made for fascinating and illuminating reading. You guys are amazing. deborah

I just looked at the site for the first time in a week or so. My, how it's growing! I see there are many of Spring's analyses to catch up on. And I love the balance between the quite good, haunting poetry and the goofy poetry. Way to go people! I am aware still that I owe Vlad a small contribution to the site -- and I promise not to blow it off. Been busy, starting a new job in a couple of weeks (yay me) -- one that will have me working at home full time with no one looking over my shoulder. Looking forward to a new episode tonight before the long drought with no new ones for awhile...

Athene, How do you know there's not going to be anymore new episodes for a while after tonight? Are you *spoiled*? And how long is ''a while''? Color me pouting. deborah

1. Alex - *hug* Darlin', you were so close... it looks like you simply left off the less-than sign that goes before the /a. Look at hte intro you posted once more and what I jsut said may make sense to you. If you sent me a "stock" Soulful Spike Society intro, I'd be happy to code it for you, and then all you'd have to do is change the "part number" (ie. Part 9, Part 10, etc.) and paste it into the intro posting. This is probably best handled by email. If its any consolation, you DID make a link to the site, it's just not a pretty one. *wink* 2. Ellie - At the end of Part 10 you said that "Vlad and Spring really impress them." Wow! That's really sweet of you to say. However, Spring is the one with all the talent. I jsut post her analyses. I am really proud that our collective effort here has maybe opened some eyes and minds to a wonderful show that they have been missing out on. The fact that FX airs Buffy like it does, it's twice as nice, because these folks are getting in on the end of the series (most likely) yet have a cheap and easy avenue to get all caught up and enjoy it all, jsut as we have. Although when it comes to web design, I am a self taught hack, I do really make an effort to design a quality page for us. One that's easy to peruse, and I am always open to criticism and ideas. Many of you have already made comments and suggestions and I have really tried to implement the best of them. I consider this EVERYONE'S page. We all have our jobs to do, and mine just happens to be collating all the creativity and putting it in an accessible format. Is it easy? No! *L* Occasionally, when all of you get on a real creative jag, I get a little overwhelmed, but I slog thru it. The job has gotten easier because all the groundwork has been laid. Now, usually, I jsut have to "add" to what is already there. Again, tho' thanks Ellie. It makes me feel good as it does anyone to be praised and have my efforts aknowledged. Kinda recharges my batteries a bit, you know. *wink* 3. Athene - Hon, yes, you do owe that contribution. *taps his toe* Just kidding!! Really, I know how hard it is. Sometimes there is just not enough time in the day, or the week to accomplish all the things that you want to do, or even HAVE to do. You'll get to it when you get to it. No problem. Nothing here at S3 should ever feel like a job or an obligation. A couple times during the last month, I felt like: "Oh man, why did I volunteer to do this?" But you know what? Each time I feel that way, I remind myself: "Hey, are you having fun? Are you enjoying the end result? Is everyone else basically happy with what you are doing?" and it reminds me that is why I am doing it at all. So I take my time, get things done, try not to make any promises I can't keep and amazingly, most everything falls right into place. When I open up the S3 page (multiple daily times for me!) and see all the work EVERYONE has done, the fan fiction, Spring's analyses, the astounding poetry both funny and serious, and the other things too hard to define, it just amazes me. It's been what? A month or so? In a month, look at all that's been created...just plucked from the ether. Simply amazing! *** *** *** And that all brings me to here. I apologize if I haven't been quite as accessible as I was at first. A very dear friend of mine came into town about two weeks ago and he is going thru the initial difficulties of a divorce. I have known him for over 20 years and he is like my brother. Much of my time has been devoted to spending time with him and helping him thru it and out in general. My time spent working on the site has diminished as has the time spent actually posting to ScoopMe. It's not because I don't want to, but because, as I told Athene, sometimes time jsut isn't cooperative. This is a temporary thing and I really really try to get things done as soon as possible. I hope no one has been upset because their submissions to the site haven't been posted as fast as they are used to, or that I haven't replied to a question quite as fast. Know that I am here, and am just as willing to do anything for you guys. It's jsut a little slower going now. Vlad, TA, tp Edited By Vlad I at 2/25/2003 1:12:00 PM.

I read ahead in TV Guide online for next week. Someone posted the airing schedule somewhere online. They do this to us every March. I mean, with 6 eps left after tonight, and with May being the end of the line, there have to be some weeks of filler/reruns in the mix. And I'm afraid it's gonna be soon. I don't consider prior knowledge of the air dates to be spoiling. Rather, now you know you'll have a couple of Tuesday evenings to not watch TV or watch Gilmore Girls instead! I *think* the next new ep after tonight comes in the last week of March. Then another little break. Then the final 5.

Everyone here is bloody brilliant. I have never heard so many well presented, thought out and heart felt arguments in my life. Very interesting. I think it's amazing how instead of an argument or even a debate about contrasting view points, the discussion was...synergetic. Ideas came together and built on top of one another. And Vlad, you did a great job putting it on the site (I always felt little things like the Gigi and Buffy icons were what gave pages there character, but they are always such a pain to find, crop, etc), your hard work is appreciated. Robert - your Xandercentric (is there any topic you can't fit him into?) is especially intereting in regards to this season. He is the bastion of traditional feminine qualities on this show, and he is being grossly over looked and under used. I am starting to think that altough she regreted it later, Buffy learned something when she refused the demon heart shadow thing. Maybe she actually realized what not fighting evil with evil meant. And that some things are two high a price. The way she got out of the season 5 situation walks a fine line between bull**** (had her cake and ate it to) and some sort of Kierkergard-esque trans-morality thing, but it was also her finest moment. Love brought her to her gift, and she gave away herself. I wonder if the writers always planned for that swan dive to cost her more than death. It's also cost her at least a little bit of her life every moment she has lived since the beginning of last season. I am thinking this season she might actually have to choose between the world saving, and the friend saving, and she is too worn down now to find a third option.

Rusty - I wrote a poem, it's angsty and vague just the way I like it, but I'd feel easy, dirty for entering a poetry contest with no other competitors. Since Explorer has no edit button, I will forever be known as the man who wrote "two" instead of "too" in my last post. Probably lots of other mistakes AS WELL. Stupid internet...grumble, grumble...

Joshua, I think I was vague (and now am angsty) regarding where to post the poem. Since its not on the thread lower down, I think my directions must have made you think you were to send it to the s'cubie board. I moved the topic itself to the top of the Misc. board because the original one was lost in all the Ep transfers. Could you repost your poem there so everybody can see it? Vlad, did any other poems come directly to S3 site?

You can hear snippets of James reading the first Harry Dresden book on: Mediafans.com/Buffy If the page with the audio choices doesn't come right up, keep looking.
