Ellie: The way I understood it, Andrew was making the statement: "Hey, vampire's show up on video! That's surprising because I thought they wouldn't because in pictures they turn out all blurry." I think this was the writing staff's attempt to cut off all the cries from the audience of: "Hey if you can't take a good picture of a vampire, why is Andrew bothering to tape Buffy's fights and why is he taping Spike at all?"
I have to admit that this episode wasn't all that noteworthy to me other than in the "Let's tie up loose ends" department. The main points I retained are:
1- With Andrew voicing all of Anya's lines in the Xander/Anya make-up scene: Andrew is besoted with Xander. (Isn't that so cute!) Andrew obviously set out to arrange a make-up scene and was prepared to tape it is secret
2- Andrew's fantasy view of Buffy pouring cereal: She is a vision of the unattainable perfect woman.
3- Then, immediately after #2, Spike enters the scene, shirtless. That was classic! I laughed so hard. So, Andrew loves Xander, but Spike definitely is his "unattainable love interest on a pedestal." Andrew should join the S'cubies.
4- Spike's "bad-boy" video in the basement: Andrew was trying to draw out the "bad-boy we all love" from en-souled Spike. Andrew loves the bad-boy image too it seems. He should definitely be made an honourary S'cubie. Does anyone second that?
5- Kennedy and Willow are only of passing interest to him. He is far more interested in Xander's handywork (i.e. the window.)
6- Dawn, where was Dawn?
7- Spike is more than happy to be helpful any way he can. Even if that means holding the rear-line along with the Principal he isn't all that fond of.
8- Principal Wood is prepared to stake Spike, as long as he can make Buffy believe he wasn't the one who killed him. Note he only attacked Spike when he could plausibly have blamed the dusting on the rampaging students and there where no non-crazed witnesses about.
9- I think Anya is certain her relationship with Xander is over. Xander wouldn't mind if it continued, but isn't willing to fight for it. Until I get further info, I say X/A are over.
10- I don't think that until that moment over the seal of Dantazar (or whatever it is called) Andrew really took responsibility for killing Jonathan. His road to redemption has begun (This really is the theme of the season isn't it?).
11- The "last-year-in-Mexico" scene was so cute, like two little boys at a sleepover. *smirk*
I'm sure I'll think of more later, but until then, let the disscussion and disagreements begin.
Watergal =^..^=
