Yes, you said it, there is something we are really close to and not seeing. BUFFY CHOOSING. BUFFY HAVING TO MAKE A TOUGH CHOICE. I don't know. Maybe in the coming empty re-run weeks, I'll rewatch some of my Season 7 tapes and try to find the answer. You just KNOW the clues are all in there. You just know it! We'll look back and we'll see that we should have figured it all out weeks ago! I can't figure out how Dawn is going to fit in, but . . . might Dawn be killed off? That would be a heart breaker. Maybe Buffy will die. I hate to see it, but it makes sense.

There was a lot of foreshadowing in that episode. I watched it again last night on FX (only part, since I got in late). So, naturally I kept looking for a hint of the series finale. Anybody got ideas? Also, still looking for that email, Ellie.

Remember early season 4 when Riley was getting info from Willow on how to win over Buffy? And Willow said, "Cheese. Buffy likes cheese." Anyway...file under "random thoughts".

I like to think of the cheese guy as being about, well . . . cheesiness. He represents the powers that be behind the show (basically, Joss) making sure we get just enough cheese! Yes, it's a totally unsupportable idea, but then really, the thing about the cheese man is we don't see enough of him to do anything but speculate wildly - I guess he can represent whatever we want him to. ATHENE: I posted another comment for you on the spoilers board - I found that Season 5 quote I mentioned.

I'm not totally sure what that means in context, but you're not the third person who's accused me of that over the last few years. I'm not criticizing anybody else's opinion, just voicing my frustration and disappointment. ME is better than this even if they're just marking time until it's over. I haven't been to the Ep Board except to read Hunter's review, but look at our thread - only four pages. We can't even think of much to say about the last Ep. However, (again, the context), Angel was replaced this week by such a piece of execrable gopher doo that my shriek of repulsion set off every car alarm in a three mile radius. 90210 on horseback, with costumes from the new Cowboys and Indians line by Versace. I had to soothe myself with Buffy tapes and Two Buck Chuck.

So there was no solace for me except for Law & Order *sigh*. Clayton Moore must be rolling over in his grave.

Diane, If you can get to the MSN internet access page, at the top of the left hand column (next to a glass of wine) is a teaser for an article on 'The Secret Vice of Power Women'. It's all about Law and Order reruns. Check it out.

I don't know about anybody else, but I have gotten a life...I just don't like it very much. I'm unemployed (and depressed about that while required to be madly busy and resouceful looking for work in all possible places [footnote: I once served as a college president and delivered phone books in the same year, in that order: you can tell I'm the definition of flexible when it comes to work!]) while I'm running out of everything and the bills aren't getting paid and I'm told it takes 4-6 weeks to start getting the pittance that passes for unemployment. And on top of that, my health insurance has raised its rates, so I'm I'm gonna have to give that up, having no job=no income, and still somehow buy my high blood pressure medicine, which is of course exhorbitantly expensive without prescription drug coverage. And on top of that, it looks like I'll have to sell my car for eating/mortgage money if I don't find a job in the next week. And on top of that, there's no new Buffy for a month! And on top of that, I have to go this afternoon and take a civil service exam for a job I've applied for when I feel I have all the creativity and intelligence of your basic mollusc! So I couldn't generate much to say about this week's episode of Buffy. I'm severly brain impaired right now, and it's not getting better. This is not a rant. This is an EXPLOSION! Fortunately not related to Buffy, this board, or any of you. Somehow I can't believe that all this is good for my high blood pressure.... Yours in adversity, Nan

University of Florida needs a president, maybe you should make a bid for it, or.... Move to lovely South Carolina! Everything's dirt cheap! Except of course for decent property, but who needs that! Don't want to be drafted for war in Iraq? No problem, we'd rather secede from the Union than have those damn Yankees tell us what to do. Yes sir, everything's cheap, and since we rank 48th in education among all other states, I am sure we could use someone with your background. Did I mention everything here is way cheaper than in the West or Northeast? CHEAP!

Greenville, South Carolina was one of my favorite places to go visit when I traveled there for work. Really. Nice people, nice little town, fun bar/restaurant called Soby's across the street from my hotel...sigh. And the property seemed kinda cheap compared to where I come from. Hey, is all of this WAY off topic getting-to-know you stuff allowed? I really enjoy it. Nan, I'm sorry to hear you're having a rough time of it now. But it was nice to get a little insight into your day-to-day, even if it isn't so hot right now.

I am sorry to hear what you are going thru Nan. It will get better. And maybe the Buffyless month is actually a blessing. It will allow you to concentrate on finding a job. I think maybe Principal Wood might be hiring a new guidance counselor. *wink* Seriously, I am sorry. And Athene, sure you can...we can talk about ANYTHING here. No banishing to the Misc board..ohh..wait.. we ARE ON THE MISC board... In fact..til this recent flurry of moving hte "interesting" conversations away from the impressionable people manning the Episode Board, we WERE the Misc. Board *L* So chat away.. we like to know the people behind the snark. *wink* Vlad

Rusty - my "loose cannon rocking the boat" was just meant to respond to your comment on mixing metaphors. Just trying to be silly. I am not always successful in getting such things across in postings.

Nan - It's good to share! I made everyone listen to my "UPN is out and I'm stuck in the driveway" trauma, and hey, it made me feel better. You seem like such a talented sort, surely someone will snap you up. I lived in Cincy years ago. My oldest son was born in Jewish Hospital. The Carolinas do sound tempting to us Midwesterners, though, when the snow has been on the ground and up to our knees for two weeks. Edited By Spring Summers at 2/27/2003 3:36:00 PM.

Nan - Seeing Athene and Vlad's posts, I am left to wonder if my response wasn't a bit too flippant in relation to your situation. I suppose I coupled sound advice (the South is a growing economic sector in need of skilled labor and educational adminsitrators are in constant demand) with sarcastic enthusiasm for my "homeland" out of my own fears exasperations about what I am going to do this summer in order to somehow feed myself. And provide lodging, as I have grown accustomed to sleeping indoors. Actually I think it may just be dawning on me how desperate I really am for an Internship or job. I don't suppose there are any exhorbantly wealthy S'Cubies willing to pay someone to watch and catalouge their Buffy DVD's, are there? To Athene - Greenville is quite lovely: all of northern South Carolina reminds me of the northeast. It's very Virginiaish. As far as South Carolina land value, I was thinking of the beachfront poperty in coastal Carolina, and the larger wooded estates surrounding Columbia when I said it wasn't cheap.
