"He needs glasses" HEEEEEEE!!!!! Too. Perfect. And handy-man Sayid is right there to slap together the cutest little pair of eyeglasses that island has ever seen. I mean, we already knew he looked good in the sparkly cat's eye shades, but now - what a hunk! ;D

They're just killing me with the whole hit-by-a-car, nope, hunting-accident, nope, paralysed-by-the-surgery, nope, got-up-and-moved-around-too-soon-after-the-surgery, nope, shot-or-injured-while-trying-to-get-inside-dad's-house-again, nope, car-accident-due-to-driving-while-upset, nope, oh-I-guess-we-won't-get-to-explaining-it-in-this-ep thing!!!!!! Yeah. I actually really liked that. I mean, it was fun getting jerked around like that, plus we got to go along on the ride - I mean, thinking we knew what we didn't know, thinking we had answers we didn't have.

Hey, Lola . . . when did you pick up that avatar with that caption? Getting ready for your big James encounter? Remember that you promised to mention me and slip him my address and phone number and key to my house. And to make this relevant to the ep: Yes, loved the glasses on Sawyer. The whole Jack & Sawyer thing was just too cute. And Jack, for the first time, seemed to be clearly expressing a reciprocal interest in Kate.

You shoulda seen that coming? Hell, Locke saw it coming and he still sent Boone up that cliff! EXACTAMUNDO. Locke calls Boone "son" and says "you have to do it for us." Underneath it all he is repeating, in a less conscious and slimy way, exactly what his father did to him, with Boone.

Now why do you have to lie like that Locke?? Yeah? I mean, he wouldn't have had to tell about his secret alien space craft metal hatch in the jungle. All he'd have had to say is "we saw this plane up on a cliff and Boone climbed up to look in it and it went boom". Unless Locke wants his own hidden stash of heroin to console him when the alien mutants hiding underground hatch still won't open even though it is now apparently lighting up for him. Lola

You shoulda seen that coming? Hell, Locke saw it coming and he still sent Boone up that cliff! heh. Yeah but he didn't figure it out until he realized how the shaky the plane was... but I had completely forgotten about Boone's bloodiness even with my obsession with all the red and clues (the folder, the car... the person falling from up high to set off the mouse trap) in Locke's flashback.

WOW and WOW!!! astoundingly good episode! Rae, you lucky dog you... and no, I don't want to change... Scary good! So, are Locke's legs improving again? He sure managed to carry Boone back to camp.

See - that was your first clue that Locke's dream was a dream - Boone was being way, way too ballsy. **snortle**

Welcome to this week’s edition of Lost in Spring’s brain!
[/li][li]Oh my gosh, what a great ep! [/li][li]Immaculate Conception, Virgin Mary full of heroine – what’s inside? Seeing clearly. Putting on the right glasses. The truth is seen. The light comes on. [/li][li]Finding out what’s wrong. Finding out what the real trouble is, what’s underneath it all: What’s wrong with Sawyer? What’s wrong with Locke’s father? What’s wrong with Emily Locke? Facing up to the fact that something is wrong (with your eyes, with your legs, with your perceptions of reality.) [/li][li]Finding something to have faith in again, after such a horrible betrayal. Afraid he’s been betrayed again. But the light comes on? What does it mean? [/li][li]Locke, getting Boone to risk his life so Locke could achieve his end, then leaving his “son,” Boone, just lying there injured, just as his father left him. [/li][li]Better or worse? What is meant to be? What is worth doing, what isn’t? Will it make things better or worse? [/li][li]Loved the funny lines in the ep – Michael learning how to say “faster and idiot.” Sawyer and Jack – Jack getting his licks in. Sawyer – no insurance. See, that’s the thing – there’s never any insurance that your efforts will pay off, that you’re doing the right thing, that you’re faith is correctly placed, that you won’t get hurt. Is it what it seems to be, or is it a mouse trap? Are you being baited, hooked like a fish? [/li][li]Do it for me. Do it for us. Didn’t do it for him. Doing things for others (like everyone helping Sawyer), as opposed to the absolute selfishness of Locke’s parents. Wow. Just so much stuff. LOVED IT! My favorite ep yet.[/quote] Your brain is a wonderful and intriguing place to be. **wanders around in Spring's brain again, looking for Spike footprints and Sawyer fingerprints** I keep wondering what the Deus Ex Machina was, though. The island itself - giving and taking away? The plane - hanging from the cliff and then crashing down like a machine being lowered from the Gods? The general theme or thread of Locke's life? The "fate" (con - hmmmm, another con job) that brought him into his father's life in time for the transplant? Lola

You live in Minnesota, right? I'll be sure and do that first thing. ;D Jack at least seemed to be actively flirting with Kate, trying to engage her, rather than just . . . lumping along.
