Oh - there's a 'HIM'. And that guy with Ethan was the bearded 'Other'. Do you suppose the woman Claire keeps seeing is the CFL's "Alex"?"Catch a falling star and put it in your pocket...." Creepy - with a capital "C". Now that Claire's specified she's a teenage girl, I think you nailed it Karen--good call. Why, thank you. It must've been the Cosmos I drank tonight. Seriously, when we saw the flashback that showed us she was trying to help Claire escape, it made sense. Ahh, and now I feel all sorts of sympathy for Danielle. Alex looks a lot like her - very pretty.

Oh my God, the airplanes!. First you make a list? For the ones who are "good" enough? Ethan was cherry picking Claire? **nods** Sounds like it to me.

Creepy - with a capital "C". The dark haired woman being Alex would be logical and cool, storywise. Very very creepy!

Abandoned hatch?
Costumes.
Medicine vial. no glasses, couldn't read it.
This brunette saving her is Alex?
Men-Henry project. Women-Claire project.
Does this mean Rousseau is bona fide?

I like that it's Girl's Night Out, though it's been a very unexciting ep so far. Um.....the scene of Mr. Eko cutting down a tree was pretty exciting. I had a girl's night out tonight, too. It wasn't that exciting either, but it was nice. Made a couple of bracelets, ate pizza and cheese cake and had a few laughs.

Oh - how I hate these commercials for Barbara Walters' upcoming interviews with 3 or 4 actors.
That baby is so little, he must still be nursing - and getting very little else. I wonder what the little guy is eating.
I like domestic Locke.

"She's not like the Others: she's good." Wow, what a gift Claire just gave Danielle.
Huh. Eyes are all watery--my allergies must be acting up...

What a cute little baby. What a not cute prisioner. But a smart prisoner.

infection --> evil baby? Rousseau was ominious.
Ooh, the anticipation...
Like Eko giving food to the guy in the pit.
What did Eko just do?
Eko vs Sayid's treatment of Henry.
Aaron and Claire. Aw....
He heard through the door? Really?
So, which one are you?
Henry's getting to Locke! Spooky!!!!!! He's definitely up to no good.

Yep, saved her pretty much the same way: like mother, like daughter: knocked her ass out. "Know what must be done" Yeah, Rousseau. "Well, there you go" is about all you can say. "What is it for?" (The alarm) "Treating well" is relative. Objectively, yes. He has a certain majesty to his voice: "Please stop talking, Henry" I thought he'd bit the throat out of one of them. (The others. Eko, I thought, had blood all over his face) The hell? Yeah, Henry, I'm with you. Why is he telling him this? Some sort of penitence/penance lock? Substitute for confession, since there are no priests handy? Sure, Claire, trust the doctor when you can't find the wonder medicine that would probably turn him into a demon zombie psychic monster critter. Oh yeah, she was ready to give up the baby before she had him: keep forgetting that. "You have good ears" "You have thin doors" He's Hemstoevsky. Locke, be aware that this is A PSYCHOLOGICAL WEAPON he is using. Doesn't matter if he knows it or not, if he believes it, too, I guess. Next Week!! "MY" hatch!! Woohoo! Sun's breeding!!!!

What a cute little baby. What a not cute prisioner. But a smart prisoner. Yup. And Locke's a complete idiot for letting a guy he doesn't even trust get to him so easily.

Henry is very very dangerous. What did CFL tell Sayid? "Don't believe anything he says."

She helped me. She wasn't like the others. She was good. They keep hitting the theme of "good" here. So, Rousseau thinks they'll need to kill some people? Heeeee! "Don't tell him what it's for." "What is it for?" #rofl1# Perfect, Eko, perfect!! "Are they treating you well?" #rofl2# "Please stop talking." Woah!! Mr Eko! I didn't expect that! "I need you to know I am sorry." Cuts off the two little beard thingees - two for the two guys he killed? And baby got better on its own. Awwwww. Cute little scene with the little booty. "I wanted them to take you." So, she was talked/drugged into thinking it was like giving the baby up for adoption. Huh. "You have good ears." "Bull fighting isn't everything." Ooooh. BalloonMan tries out the pyschoanalysis stuff. And trying to manipulate Locke. "Which one are you?" And "I'm surprised you let the doctor call the shots." Damn, Locke! You let him get to you wiht something so obvious? Oooo. Scenes from next ep. "My hatch." And Sun!

Yeah. I mean, all the literary and cultural references mean something, so why this particular comparison? I think I could tease out the meaning of the reference if I knew more about Hemingway and Dostoevsky, but I meant the in story reason. I mean, Locke just starts spouting off to Jack and doesn't really come to any sort of point. Though maybe seeing to the end of the episode, Locke's always been trying to make himself seem larger than life. Hunting and profound advice and whatnot, when his life has been really mundane. So maybe all this literature stuff was part of that.
