You're the First. And it never occurred to any of us that the First would actually be a S'cubie. But now that I think of it, it does make sense.

If I am always the first, why is everyone always so thrilled to be second? Totally confused now...

David said: "Being the first is one thing, but does anyone really want to be The First?" I don't know, I just know I'm always the LAST! Dang it, I was still over on the last part posting things nobody will ever read now. Oh well. I'll just repeat them here... Dave, I'm going to read your essay(s) tomorrow. After all, you are your favorite author and I value your opinion of yourself... Dave, in your profile you said "And I've been wrestling with God for a while now about entering the ministry (seriously), mostly because I like the work I'm already doing" So, Dave, you didn't LIE about liking your work did you? Alex, thanks for the complement on identifying posters in my replies. I try harder because in my heart I'm the worst offender. And now I'm caught up!

Patti -- I peeked back and saw the posts on the old board and answered them all there. Well, most, I think, if not all. Bared my soul even.

Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers here on the S'Cubie board. Some might say that includes me, but that's mostly people who've worked for me. Anyhow ... I sent an e-mail I thought the ladies might appreciate, to those who's addresses were on the super-secret e-mail list. Don't be afraid to open it, and I hope you think it's as funny as I did.

I went back and read your responses. Dave, this is such a frustrating time for people's careers, and it is so clear that you have a wonderful gift for communication. I am going to pray each day that you will find a job you love in your field. Another gift you have is that of making me go to bed with a smile. ;-) Sweet dreams Dave. Or swell ones, even.

Folks, I received the following in the mail today: I am touched. Extremely. I jsut do not know what to say! I never expected something like this! My work put into setting up and maintaining the Website was never done for anything like this. I truly enjoy doing it, much as many of you enjoy writing essays or fiction, or poetry or whatever. All the S'cubies (and especially every single person on the list above), has become a friend of mine. I enjoy being with you guys! Probably too much, as like all of you, I find myself neglecting real life. Se la vi! *L* There is a quote and I don't remember who said it or the exact wording but it goes something like: "At the end of your days, you will have regrets, we all will...but never will they be the day you didn't go to work or the day you didn't work the extra overtime; instead they will be the time not spent with your loved ones doing the things you want to do. " My favorite uncle passed away a couple years ago and not too long before he died, he and I were talking about my desire to sometime take a trip on my motorcycle out west. Already ill, he looked me in the eye and said "Mitch, just go do it. Life's too short. If you want it, buy it; if you desire doing it, do it. You only have a few years alotted to you. Make them happy ones. I know I wish I had done more." Ever since then, those words ring in my ears. So, know then, that all the things I do for us on the website is because I enjoy doing them. I enjoy being with you guys and I enjoy the challenge of making it work. If I didn't, I wouldn't, plain as that. I guess that is what makes your gift of appreciation that much more touching; I never expected it. Just like none of you guys expect anything more than compliments or a good discussion over the wonderful things you write for us. *Gives them all a huge, huge hug* You guys are the best! Vlad (aka Mitchel) ps. Patti, trust me, my huevos are perfectly fine...and as far as the military goes...I rarely let them go "commando." *G* V. (aka M.) Edited By Vlad I at 5/11/2003 5:08:00 AM.
