So, apparently their captors provided Kate with the appropriate foundation garment for that shirt. 'Cause she was wearing a bra...and not one you could see. And here I was just figuring she was braless. On a serious note...I'm sitting here thinking, "Why would they want to kill Sawyer? Makes no sense." You know, from an experiment standpoint. The answer I came up with was - they don't. They keep forcing them to tell one another how they feel. Or how they (the Others) think they feel. "You got anything to say to your girl," etc. Plus, you KNOW they have surveillance on those cages, and yet no one stops Kate wandering about. Clearly it's just another experiment. Doesn't mean they won't kill him.... I don't think that the Others in general want to kill Sawyer: they are having too much fun screwing around with his brain. I think Danny wants to kill Sawyer to get revenge for the death of his wife, Colleen, who Sun shot while Colleen was committing piracy. Danny don't see it that way, and wants to kill SOMEONE, and Sawyer's it. I think he would have died if the radio call from Mr. Friendly hadn't come. **nods to this too** Yeah, Danny has . . . fixated on Sawyer as the point of focus for his anger. Probably because Sawyer is just so snarky and attention drawing. Even though, really, the more deadly one is Kate.

Oh, and hey - this ep was exciting. Even if the plot moved only minutely. I'm cranky about the three-month hiatus, though. Tell me about it. They're gonna get this thing going in high gear completely next week, (based on the previews) and then . . . looooong wait. Actually, I think this was the last episode until February 2007. Anne, sorry to be the bearer of bad news...

Like Alex? Do you think she's Benry and Danielle's child? He seemed very concerned if she had asked about him. Wasn't Danielle pregnant before she came to the island? Hmmmm. I don't remember enough of Danielle's story to recall . . . Benry may also just have a daddy-like feeling toward her, if she was grabbed by their group as a kid and has been raised by the Others ever since.

Shirtless Nathan, shirtless Sawyer... this is the best episode EVER! I thought of the Scubies during this ep. All the drool. Hee! I must say this was the sexiest Sawyer has ever been to me. And I really enjoyed this episode. It really was a damn . . . exciting . . . ep, wasn't it? #smirk#

I loved the episode. Usually I'm not as vested in the flashbacks, except as knowledge gained about how the info impacts "today" but I was really hooked on Kate's backstory last night. Not sure if Cap'n Tightpants had anything to do with that. <wink> I did have a horrible moment there when whats'isname had the gun to Sawyer's head. For a moment I thought, nonononono...oh they're gonna kill Sawyer off! (I'm spoiler free.) And I made a vow that I would stop watching-totally. Gotta have Sawyer. Jack, not so much. They really are rather successfully making me afraid that any character could be killed - no one is safe. It was a scary moment for Sawyer fans, that's for sure!

Huh. Well. Jack, I didn't know you had it in you. Not sure how I feel about knowing....And ABC is on Sci Fi seasons now? If nothing else it's an interesting parallel with Firefly, when we saw Simon use someone else's life as leverage to get what he wanted. What I find interesting is that, based on the little bit of reaction on the 'net I've seen this morning, people don't have nearly the issue with Jack using his life-and-death power over Ben for his own reasons as they did with Juliet asking the same thing of him. I realize there are many differences, not the least of which is Juliet asked Jack to kill Ben outright, but in both cases it boils down to Jack betraying his oath as a doctor to "do no harm" for personal gain. So, like I said, interesting... Well, I'm not having a big problem because I don't really believe that Jack will let any patient die. I think this is poker-playing Jack pulling off a very excellent bluff. One that he has pretty good odds of winning with, because he's seen so much evidence that the Others think he is capable of letting a patient die/killing a patient. Otherwise, there wouldn't be so many "please operate" "please kill him" messages. Of course, I may be insane, but, then again, what else is new?

I actually like the split season, unless the option of 24 episodes in a row becomes available. **nods** It's frustrating to wait, but not quite as crazy-making as being continually interupted.

I guess with Simon, I didn't know him yet, so over time I forgave that egregious violation. I'm...confused about how I feel about Jack. I definitely think he's a different person now that I did before, but then I'm all, "Well, yeah, but you gotta do what it takes to get out," and then I'm all, "And you don't like that sort of moral simplicity in people, anyway." And then I bounce back to it not being about personal morals, it's about an oath that doctors take...then I go back to doctors all still being human, and Ben should frankly have suspected something like this might happen.... Exactly. I'm finding it really hard to know exactly how to feel about Jack's actions. As the seasons have progressed, we've seen his clear-cut sense of right and wrong get seriously vagued up--I think it started with his participation in torturing Sawyer, myself. And standing by for so long while Sayid tortured Benry didn't help matters either. He's also learned to place trust in Kate, when in RL he'd have never even considered believing a fugitive from the law could be a good person, and been utterly betrayed by someone he thought of as principled and honest (Michael). So his moral compass certainly isn't what it used to be. However, we also know Jack's a damn good poker player. So who's to say he wasn't lying about the kidney sac and only having an hour to save Ben, faked making the little nick for the benefit of those he knew were watching, and instead screwed around with the heart monitor to make it seem as if Ben's life is in danger? Now that would be the mother of all bluffs... **nods** I think it is at least an exaggeration and that, push comes to shove, he will act to save his patient. He just waited for enough evidence that his bluff would be believed.

Oh, and am I the only one who wondered who Jacob was and why Jack wasn't on his list? I'm thinking Jacob is One-eyed Hatch Guy. Intriguing . . . So, he's maybe the guy keeping an eye (literally) over all the island happenings?

I posted this on the main board, but I'm putting it here too, 'cause I can. And did anybody else notice how unusually pretty Lost was last night? I mean in addition to the "Hawaii Pretty" we've all come to know and love, Eko's funeral with the sunbeams streaming down, Jack lying asleep on the table, Jack when Kate came in to talk to him green on blue, the filming of Sawyer and Kate getting it on. Wow. **nods** Yes, it was visually stunning on at least several occasions in this ep.

I think you've got Lola's vote. And mine. ;D It's the most logical thing to do. Truly, logic must rule in this situation. #smirk#

So why does Kate call Marshall Edward Marsh on religious holidays (he references that it's the Feast of the Ascencion, and implies she's done it before)? Because theirs is a very twisted Marshall/Fugitive dance of love and hate. ;D

I'm thinking Jacob is One-eyed Hatch Guy. I'm thinking "One-Eyed Hatch Guy" could be the next great penile euphemism. Which is why I should probably avoid thinking.

I was actually thinking this way last week and mistakenly repeated the "one more ep" part this time.
