Did anyone feel like Duncan is trying to recapture his life pre-lilly's death by falling for Meg? Meg seems alot like Veronica pre-change <snip> definitely. i also thought leo's timing, intentional or not, was interesting, both in terms of finding her crying and of helping her finally find out who was making the phone calls: the storyline of the episode setting him up as veronica's knight there to save "the day"(her night).

<snip> oh--minor shrink moment here: Trina was Daddy's little girl until he remarried ("the wicked stepmother"). Lynn dies and Trina bizarrely dresses up like her and drives the same car thinking that it will attract Daddy's attention back to her? <snip> with aaron's track record as a less than stellar parent, i wouldn't be particularly surprised if "daddy's little girl" were the icky way that can be taken -- some sort of incestuous bond, either emotional or physical. it might also help explain the dressing-up.

Weighing in on the Manila/Vanilla whore conundrum: I took that to be a play on Vanilla Ice, as in another blond wannabe (and yes, I know Vanilla Ice was early 90's, not 80's but hey, that's where my mind went).
Logan broke my heart and not just when he cried in the hotel lobby. My take on the dance was that he'd intended to pull off the whole Risky Business, "dance in my underwear," same old Logan thing but can no longer plaster over the cracks in his façade.

Wasn't that the kind of car his mother drove? Red convertible? It does almost seem like Trina was (deliberately) impersonating Lynn. Logan has clearly given up hope but I'm wondering if that's a mislead now. I'm with Spring on this one, tho. Too many complications and dangling ends. I don't think the entire Lynn/Aaron thing should be an on-going focal point. Let her be dead and deal with it. Too strange to have V's mom disappear and then reappear, then do the same thing with Lynn. So was the semi-impersonation thing just a sick joke on Trina's part? Seemed almost like she wanted to get noticed: oh--minor shrink moment here: Trina was Daddy's little girl until he remarried ("the wicked stepmother"). Lynn dies and Trina bizarrely dresses up like her and drives the same car thinking that it will attract Daddy's attention back to her? Far-fetched I know. I'm thinking it's possible that Trina was THERE WITH her stepmomma: they both have issues with Aaron. Suites have more than one bedroom, so maybe she's there to help Lynn stay in hiding. Revenge against Daddy kind of thing.

Revenge against Daddy kind of thing. i don't know if i agree or not, but this theory would provide a pretty good explanation for why she was in lynn's clothes. this way, if anyone saw the real lynn, they would later attribute it to trina-dressed-as-lynn.

Hi Sue! I must admit that thought (dressing up like the stepmom) didn't strike me but good point. I keep going back and forth on this whole is Mommy really dead, is Trina hiding something angle. There are explanations both ways but clearly Logan now thinks she is dead. What did you think of Alyson's performance/character? I think anytime an established television actor takes on a new role there are always echos of the past. There are very few actors that manage to so completely submerge their personality in the parts that you forget their past (meryl streep, daniel day-lewis, etc). Most stars seem to play variations of themselves most of the time. (Tom Cruise for example). I thought AH did a good job at avoiding Willowspeak but I did get a little of the darkwillow vibe from her. I am very interested in seeing what they do with her next time. There simply wasn't enough screen time or dialogue for me to fully judge it. I hope this brought in some boost to the ratings. I haven't been to zap2it yet but plan to check some time today. Please do check on the ratings and report back. I too am curious. Regarding AH's performance, I agree with the bolded: not enough time. Those screen actors get a whole new story, cast, setting, etc andf 2 full hours to completely be someone else. Two extremely brief scenes--no way to form any opinion. This is the same complaint I have about Duncan, and has been mentioned by others: just not enough of him yet to feel for him. Hoping the RT gets the time (several years) to really flesh out and develop not just Duncan but Weevil and Wallace as well. And Keith--tons and tons can be done with Keith. Also, (over time, once some of these already ongoing stories are resolved) wouldn't hurt to have another female on a more recurring basis. Like you I do like pulling in semi-recurring characters. (Allison and Jim were stunned when they said, "who's that, where did she come from?" and I said "Meagan") but wouldn't mind Trina becoming someone more regular, with the right story. Heaven forbid AH be used as window dressing.

Oh, good point! He has kinda fallen from grace with the in-crowd. Much like Veronica. He also didn't get asked to be in that secret society - The Tritons, was it? That has got to hurt.

That's exactly the type of stunt Logan would have pulled--and pulled off well (were there chaperone's there?) in the past. I guess Weevil didn't attend? Wonder what his look would have been? Has the "biker" looked really changed all that much in the past 2 decades? [For the record, Allison immediately said "Vanilla Ice"--but what does she know--she was only born in 87.]

Sadly AH's appearance didn't help the ratings at all. Zap2it says "an indifferent week for UPN which failed to get a boost from guest star Alyson Hannigan". I'm glad they are going to resolve the mystery this year since we may not get another one. The only thing we can hope is that the quality of the show will get it renewed. Perhaps if it weren't up against House which seems to be really hot. But - UPN seldom beats anybody anyway so maybe the demographics will help.

UPN is trying to widen its demographic as well as having a "signature" show, like the WB had with "Buffy." Buffy's ratings weren't exactly top notch in its first season either. I believe we'll get at least another year for VM.

It has been mentioned in Entertainment Weekly several times - making the hot list too. And I hope the quality will keep it on the air. Or perhaps I too live in Erinland.
