I just noticed that the next scheduled new episode is March 29th!
Now we get the mother & daughter reunion and we have to wait to see what it means!!
Personally, I was disappointed in AH's cameo-like appearance. I was hoping for more character use. If this was only to introduce Trina, perhaps AH will be back again. Anybody hear anything about a repeat appearance? If hope this wasn't just sweeps stunt-casting. I hate that. (NBC's stupid tie in lst week of one of my favorite shows Third Watch with the annoyingly forgetable Medical Investigations made for 2 hours of boring tv instead of 1 good & 1 skipped.)
I agree about the strangeness of Trina & the credit card. The same car, same clothes. Something does not add up. Was Trina involved in either the jump/dump or step-mom going on the lam? Could there be a kidnapping involved? But so far no ransom demand, so probably not - unless the kidnappping was somehow botched up. Hopefully we will see AH again when they tie this whole disappearance/death plotline up.
And eetah about the non-logic of someone hiding out getting with a casting agent. One published photo & he's a deadman.

She was faxed pics of him with his new name. This is the part I don't understand. Why would a guy trying to hide be registered with talent agencies and such? The way it seemed to me was that Veronica asked for possible talent to fill the bill. The agency sent her pics of "Gregory," actually Tom Cruz. Veronica did not follow up in any way - she didn't ask the agency to have him call or anything . . . she used the info she had to track him there. I don't feel 100% clear on it, but no matter how I look at it, I can't understand "Tom" wanting to get acting work - or why he would be with an agency, with his new name, if he wasn't wanting acting work. It's a minor, insignificant point. I loved the ep! I see your point. I will have to re-watch the episode at some point. I remember her getting faxed headshots of balding men. I remember the headshot of "Gregory Edgar." But I didn't recognize any of the headshots as Tom Cruz. And in fact, we later learned that Tom Cruz was going by the name John Frampton. The only picture I recall Veronica and Wallace referring to was the original dog/master shot handed over by our Russian mobstress. As you and Vlad remember it differently, I will defer to your views.

OK - so you're saying that Veronica never got anything useful from the talent agency. The pics came from "Catarina." I thought the dog pics came from the talent agency. But definitely, I could be remembering that all wrong, though - 'cause it makes no sense. You're right those faxed pics said "Gregory." And Tom's new name was John. So . . . that makes sense those Gregory pics weren't Tom Cruz. So the talent agency thing was a dead end, and Veronica just went back to pics that she had from Catarina. I didn't understand /remember that she had the dog pics from Catarina. OK. Thanks, Bluesman. That clears things up a bit for me.

Thanks, Bluesman. That clears things up a bit for me. I'm glad. Ideally, I may also be correct. I will download the episode soon. I want to watch the interaction between Logan and Veronica when he breaks down again. Such an amazing performance on both Jason's and Kristen's part, but I really focused on Logan during that scene. I have this memory, though, of Veronica's eyes having this haunted, slightly lost look as she tried to comfort Logan.

Off topic/on topic.
So--no comments on the commercials for Michelle Trachtenberg's Ice Princess movie on the Disney channel?

The dog pic comes from Catarina. I watched Logan's breakdown scene several times - Jason D is just wonderful in it, and Kristen is really good too. She makes this little "uh" sound when she realizes that Logan is falling apart, and just seems overwhelmed and not quite sure what to do. But she does her best for him - she lets him lean on her, even though it's hard and painful for her. That's the feel I got from it. Just really well done by both actors.

Actually, surfed around and the madonna thing is correct, but apparently it's supposed to be her in "Desperately Seeking Susan." Oh, yep - I can totally see that. And that was actually a pretty good movie.

The Trina/Logan dichotomy fascinates me. I was oldest. Growing up, my dad was tough. He used a belt when I was younger. After I hit fourteen, he once popped me across the mouth with all that entails. As the oldest, I knew how to minimize my dad's anger. My sister was the middle child and I think she may have got spanked once. I pretty much moved out of the house for my last year of high school, got married after graduation and joined the service. My brother was nine years younger. And he was just as tough as my dad. I know what happened to my brother went beyond anything that ever happened to me. He never cried. And I think my parents got scared eventually, because they had gone pretty far with him. Anyway, I didn't know most of this until later, because I was gone. But my relationship with my brother had ended. We literally didn't speak for over ten years. I'm not sure why as we never had a fight. Just, he didn't pick up the phone and I didn't pick up the phone. We talk now. We started talking about two years ago. He even sent me his autobiography. I remember bouncing him off the walls as a kid and he has all these positive memories of me. So I find this Trina/Logan relationship so interesting, because it echoes my own relationship with my younger brother in some ways. By the way, we allow no spanking or any kind of physical punishment in my own household. I know some feel differently on the issue, but for my wife and I, we will never allow it. I'm so sorry to hear about your own experiences, Bluesman. (And happy to hear about the ruling on no physical punishment in your house. I know others have different feelings about spankin, for example, but I myself lean toward the "never hit in any way, because what is that really teaching" idea myself.) I am also going to be very interested in what we learn about the relationship between Trina and Logan and daddy Echolls and all. Just in my own circle of friends and over the years I have seen such different examples of how families work. As Spring and others have mentioned, one child may be abused while others are not. Or there may be different levels and types of hurt meted out. It can vary by the age or gender of the child, how they react, the improving or deteriorating situation of the parent(s) - so many different things. But something is up with Trina. She's got a snarky false front just like Logan does. Lola

I needed to delurk for this, actually, because unlike some TV shows, I suspect Veronica Mars's writers are smart enough to use this kind of foreshadowing. It should be mentioned the name "Lianne" is apparently an Americanized corruption of the name "Susan", if you trace it back far enough. Any other show, I wouldn't think the writers would necessarily have thought that deeply about it, but this isn't just any show when it comes to literary and filmic references, so I think it's a very, very obscure hint about the surprise ending and Veronica finding her mother.

Spring - another delightful, insighful review. I find it a wonderful correlation/juxtposition in a week when several scub'ies were commenting about love, past love, taking a chance on new love that Veronica Mars would focus on taking a chance on love. I enjoyed the car insights - something I did not note when watching.
I become so mesmerized in the story and the acting in front of me. I'm swept along. Then reading the comments and in-depth analysis I sit and think well of course, why didn't I see that?
Thanks again.
