I have a bad feeling we won't be seeing Wallace for a while.
I want to be wrong, but they clearly set that up. It'll create more room to develop Jackie's character independently (which is clearly on the way), AND move Logan to center stage. RT might have the best problem a writer can have: too many great characters, too little screen-time to develop them all at once.

Can I both pity and hate Jackie at the same time? She's a seriously messed-up, insecure and spoiled girl, but I have to hand it to her drug-addled brain...she had it dead-on at the end. Veronica would've been outraged and protective of Wallace either way, but Logan as the other guy surely cranked things up a few notches. There were...layers, and Jackie picked up on them immediately. That was very well done. Yup. That's one of the excellent things about VM. No one is just a one-dimensional character.

And what the hell was Duncan thinking telling Veronica to let Wallace go? How the hell does he know Wallace will be "all right?" He doesn't have a clue what's going on. Don't tell me Duncan is jealous of Wallace. That would be ridiculous. I think Duncan was just being typical Duncan; non-action guy. Just sit there and don't engage with things guy.

Because I really like Wallace.

You know what I loved most about this episode? How well it depicted people who care deeply for one another, but don't always express that feeling properly. The best BTVS episodes did the same exact thing...showing us a character's inner words, then having them do a less-than stellar job with the outer actions.
The best example is that (incredibly painful) argument toward the end; Wallace was being a little unfair with Veronica, but he would have no way of knowing it. She WAS a little short with him when they discussed it...but she wasn't necessarily wrong, either. There's something fishy about his biological father waiting so many years to seek him out.
I never realized just how invested I was in Veronica and Wallace's friendship until I saw them seriously fight for the first time. They were both so hurt...it's kind of messing me up, like whenever Buffy and Xander quarreled back in the day.
Even worse, I see a serious downward spiral for both of them...especially Veronica. When things go to hell with Duncan (which they will), she won't have anyone to turn to.
Man, this one really got to me.
I suppose that means this was a great episode.

May I plagarize you in my review? Well, I better stop reading before I get too many ideas from other people. But I need to rewatch and probably do an outline/recap just for myself so I can figure out all the different things that were going on!!! My head is still spinning. ========== At first I was afraid that Keith was giving Lamb the CD that had Lamb's blackmailing on it. Then I realized that he would simply assume it really was a Homecoming mix CD and there's no way he would give that to Lamb. Hmm....there's a moral dilemna: If Veronica wants to out Lamb as a blackmailer----a far more acceptable way to defeat him than using the bus crash phone call---she also has to out Mr. Cook----which she really can't do without crushing Jackie which will in turn hurt Wallace.

May I plagarize you in my review? Not sure what's worth copying, but feel free. Mi Pluma Es Su Pluma. Or something. So...if Jackie is telling the truth with regard to Lily, just what in hell was that supposed to be? The phony psychic actually picked up on something, even though Jackie paid her off to reveal Veronica's once-slathered boobs? Hold on, I just lost focus for a sec... I keep going back to that kitchen scene. That's where Veronica made Wallace secret snickerdoodles. Which wasn't my original point. This episode showed us something very different from the norm. Wallace was always cute, funny, loyal and fundamentally decent. Just what Veronica - and thereby the show itself - needed. I might just be speaking for myself here, but whenever Wallace was in a scene, it was a refreshing respite from the layers of high emotion and mystery. No matter how ugly things got, Wallace didn't change. Tonight, his own pain went to the forefront for the first time...and it was severely jarring. From an acting perspective, this is also the first episode where RT asks Percy Daggs to bring a lot of intensity...and whoa, did he bring it. You have to be pretty damned good to hang with Kristen Bell in an emotional scene; up to now, Jason Dohring and Rico Colantoni were the only ones who have done it believably - and on an equal footing, IMO. Maybe I was just caught up in the shock at the raw emotion Wallace displayed when Veronica snarled at him to "pick a side," but...in that moment, Percy shifted into a gear I didn't realize he possessed. Talk about intensity... I'm about to watch it a 2nd time, which is when I generally analyze things more critically, so perhaps I'm overstating it...but I don't think so. Did you see Veronica's face when Wallace really started going off? Kristen Bell can give so much to her fellow actors just by her reactions. So far, that was one of the best-acted scenes of the year.

Mom, you got some 'splainin' to do.
That was your DADDY, dumbass.
This is why my cousin got out of the undercover squad. "We are who we pretend to be, so we should be careful who we pretend to be" He didn't like who he was becoming as he pretended.
Heh, she knows Keith's been snooping.
She ran from while she was pregnant? Understandable.
"Much like the plague"
"Bueller?"
Snortle! Logan still has a thing for her. Jackie is not gonna like all this Veronica-loving going on.
Oh my god, they're gonna be the homecoming couple.
At least she's making the moves on him...
Heh.. "biodad" I like that.
BITCH!!!
"I better go take care o' that" Ya think?
"Gravy train with biscuit wheels"?
I like happy Keith...
Huh..
Now THAT's unusual. I'm hoping Wallace clued her in on what was up with biodad.

Cora.. was she the chick who she was hanging with?
Huh.. wow... I like that aspect: "I want to prove that she didn't"
Yes, you stole them, Keith. Own up to it.
Ouch..
"You are giving me parenting advice?"
"All ya did was postpone it!" yep.
Wallace has a pretty good voice. And nice selection of song.
Huh... lies within lies...
Nice parellel. No Veronica, though.
Logan, you hitting on Wallace's girl?
I'm hoping Cora's innocent..
Duncan's making the effort.
"Gang Violence bugs me"
Snortle! "The Exterminator"
Oh, shit... that's some dirty fighting.

Okay, the Dentyne commercial is cute.
Cora has gotta be aware that having Veronica hanging with you isn't always the best..
"Oh Boyo Pollo" ?
Ah, she works. I'm glad.
Now THAT's a come-on line....
Duncan, you big assumer.
"Kane software stationary" huh.
I bet it's a different kind of bug.
He's got a right to be mad. But he WAS a bit of a psychopath.
"The one who sticks with you is the one who cares"
HEE!!!!!
So is it camera and sound, or sound only?
Huh.. what? Oh, the palm reader palmed the card?
God, that much vanilla would kill me.
I kinda like that song in the commercial. And presumably, later on in this show.

Aw!!! She admits it! They're bonding!!
Oh, this is just sick and sad.
I'm SO with you.
Sound only, then.
Uh oh. This isn't gonna be good....
How is he extorting that much out of him?
Holy crap.
Is this real, or B.S.?
Holy moly....
What was that explosion?
I'm presuming she forwarded it to herself.
Depends on what kind of "ass-waxing" you mean, big boy.
Heh.. Lily... this is gonna scare shit out of her.
The HELL?

Oh..... DAMN. That BITCH.
That's some FRICKIN' dirty fighting.
That's a lot to let go, Wallace.
She deliberately set her up and humiliated her.
My ASS she feels terrible.
TATTLING on her for having coffee with Dave?
Aw, man, Wallace...
Wonder what the pill bottle is.
This is why I like Keith. He's good. GOOD.
Say no.
I love you, Veronica.
And yep, here it is. Cute chick band...
Jackie's stoned out of her gourd, isn't she?
Yeah, she's smashed.
"He'll be allright" my ass. Go AFTER him.
Aw, dammit, why did he lift the bug?
Wallace has run away?
Ah, he saw that as a betrayal, but he hadn't bothered telling her that he'd broken up with Jackie either.
Aw damn. Wonder how long he's gonna be gone for. And they were just starting to give his character some REAL good stuff.

Keith is allgood sides. ;D Hmmmmm. Wallace as homecoming king, Veronica as homecoming queen. I can see it, totally!! Alicia's answer to Wallace is plausible. I have empathy for her, provided there are no more surprises. But Wallace is definitely hurt. Seeing a different side to Jackie now, asking for help and saying she has no friends. Oooh, ouch! Alicia and Keith dissing each other's parenting skills?! That's not good. And she's right to be mad he took stuff from her, acting too detective-y. But then again, she kinda asked him to be detective-y for her and didn't give him the full story. Mmmmm. Wallace has a nice singing voice. And oooh, ouch. Nice choice of song. Hmmmmm. V hasn't been asked to homecoming. Logan and Duncan making up, sorta. Awwwww. And Veronica is being a bit more cautious in her detecting - perhaps she learned something from last week. Debate! And Lamb comes out with damaging info . . . Oh oh . . . Huh... Lola stole my brain today during the show. That explains why I was feeling all logey and stuff around eight. I think I'll go delete my posts..
