Okay, the Dentyne commercial is cute. Cora has gotta be aware that having Veronica hanging with you isn't always the best.. Yeah, I mean, don't all the kids at Neptune High have the heads up about V yet. Yeah, I thought that was interesting too . . . Yup on both counts! ;D

Aw!!! She admits it! They're bonding!! Oh, this is just sick and sad. I'm SO with you. Sound only, then. Uh oh. This isn't gonna be good.... How is he extorting that much out of him? Holy crap. Is this real, or B.S.? Holy moly.... What was that explosion? **nods a lot!!** I loved the expressions on both Veronica and her dad when they listened to it. You could just see how sick it made them feel. My reaction exactly!

Oh..... DAMN. That BITCH. That's some FRICKIN' dirty fighting. That's a lot to let go, Wallace. She deliberately set her up and humiliated her. My ASS she feels terrible. TATTLING on her for having coffee with Dave? Aw, man, Wallace... Was saying that sooooo much last night!! Yes! A truly decent man!! I know!! I was yelling at the TV, "go after him, Veronica"! I'm thinking to protect Veronica? She really has trouble sometimes seeing how things could . . . well, bite her later. Really a very strong theme all episode lone of miscommunication and what goes horribly wrong when you don't tell people things, eh? I knoooooowwwwww!

Keith is allgood sides. ;D Hmmmmm. Wallace as homecoming king, Veronica as homecoming queen. I can see it, totally!! Alicia's answer to Wallace is plausible. I have empathy for her, provided there are no more surprises. But Wallace is definitely hurt. Seeing a different side to Jackie now, asking for help and saying she has no friends. Oooh, ouch! Alicia and Keith dissing each other's parenting skills?! That's not good. And she's right to be mad he took stuff from her, acting too detective-y. But then again, she kinda asked him to be detective-y for her and didn't give him the full story. Mmmmm. Wallace has a nice singing voice. And oooh, ouch. Nice choice of song. Hmmmmm. V hasn't been asked to homecoming. Logan and Duncan making up, sorta. Awwwww. And Veronica is being a bit more cautious in her detecting - perhaps she learned something from last week. Debate! And Lamb comes out with damaging info . . . Oh oh . . . Huh... Lola stole my brain today during the show. That explains why I was feeling all logey and stuff around eight. I think I'll go delete my posts.. **snortle**

I think Duncan was just being typical Duncan; non-action guy. Just sit there and don't engage with things guy. Oh I so agree. Veronica should not have listened to Duncan though. I think Rob is right - Wallace is offstage for awhile now. Veronica should soooo not have listened to him.

Interesting episode. Again I want to echo Rob and say wonderful job Percy. Wallace completely sold me on his hurt and great, great confrontation with Veronica. Everything he said was spot on and rang with hurt, pain and confusion. And I loved how it built during the episode. We (and all the other characters) are so used to Wallace being the calm guy, it was hard to see how hurt he was and it not really being noticed until he snapped. ;D The Keith and Alicia fight was just so painfully true and owie to watch. Both lashing out with what they know will hurt. And even if they forgive each other, the words are out now - never to be completely forgotten. Because you know for them to have said them, they each actually do feel that way, at least a little. Lots of simultaneous Jackie love and hate tonight. She's so messed up, you have to feel sorry for her. And when she's a bitch, she sure is a magnificent one. But also . . . . man! Lots of blasts from the past, eh? Not just plot-wise, with Lily "speaking from the grave" and Alicia's and Jackie's dad's pasts coming back to haunt them. Loved that moment! We so needed to see it after the scene in the previous ep where they talked about the problems between them. Sounded like gun shots to me too. Much agreement on the powerful acting last night. Woot!

<snip> Jackie's stoned out of her gourd, isn't she? Yeah, she's smashed. <snip> I'm with Matthew--I think Jackie was most definitely on something when she went to the dance, whether it was pot or something stronger (as that brief scene of her holding a pill bottle would imply). Not that it excuses her behavior--just making the observation. Oh, yeah. She was totally baked, and I'm guessing the pills along with liquor. One messed up kid, for sure.

OK, now I'm scared for Wallace...and next week is a rerun! Damn it! Poor Wallace, man. The boy's got massive integrity...and Jackie is so messed up... Yes, that's my take on Wallace too: Integrity is one of his most basic and noticeable qualities. But he's also very caring and loyal and it's hard for him to deal with the fact that some of his loved ones aren't nearly as trustworthy as he is, himself. I loved how straightforward he was with everyone, and how he stood up for himself. I don't really trust his dad though, so I am worried about him. I do think he'll be back fairly soon - Alicia isn't going to just let this ride. She & Keith will go full blast at trying to find him and get him back. Agreement with all of this, including the worry. Wallace is reacting to all the things that happened and is not behaving with his usual good sense. It's made him take a leap that I think he is going to regret . . .

Interesting episode. Again I want to echo Rob and say wonderful job Percy. Wallace completely sold me on his hurt and great, great confrontation with Veronica. Everything he said was spot on and rang with hurt, pain and confusion. I haven't really processed all my thoughts about this episode yet. But briefly my things I liked list: Lamb - Oh how I love Lamb. Michael Muhvey rocked his scenes. Evil, evil debate comeback, blackmail, snark - more Lamb please. Keith - EC does so much with his eyes in his reactions. Oh God I hurt for both him and Alicia during this fight. I was spoiled in a general sense for this episode in that I knew there would be two breakups. The writer - Cathy Belben posted it in her writer's blog - before the PTB found out she was leaking info and shut her down. Many people speculated that Keith and Alicia would be one of the breakups so I was expecting this after last week's revelations but this was so sad. I hurt for both of them. And how great was Keith to do the right thing and not use his knowledge to score political points. I love you Keith. Jackie - can I both hate and love her at the same time? I'm still meh on her acting (it goes up and down) but this was, as Erin said (hi Erin - new name I see, should I bow?) deliciously evil. But um Jackie - get your hands off of Logan this minute. Got it? Okay - moving on then. Still - the mammomax (hee, hee) was wonderfully humiliating. Corny/Mandy/Mr. Wu/Backup - continuity I love you. Nice to see you guys. How is your dog doing Mandy? And Backup - where the heck have you been? Loved the line Veronica gave to Duncan that you're just here for the pretty. My thoughts exactly although - yech, I just don't see the pretty. Loved Veronica's list of things she needed for Homecoming that included Kane software stationary. And the Bug! And the Exterminator! Hee, hee. Loved Duncan and Logan making up. I was also spoiled for this scene and I must say there was general confusion everywhere over the ass waxing line. But they are just cute together. Everyone needs a friend. Loved the out of nowhere Lilly line. Wow! And everyone's face. Loved the kicking up the bus mystery. It sounded like gunshots to me - not an explosion but I'm not techy that way so what do I know. But yikes - nice! Loved Percy's voice. Bravo! Now you and Kristen need to have a duet. Let's have a MOTW during the school musical. Okay - I'm sure there's more but these are my initial loves. I really felt that this episode was well-acted. Everyone brought their acting chops to this one. I've felt that KB has been phoning it in a few times this season but she did a terrific job last night. And - I have heard in a general way by those who are spoiled that when we get back from the rerun episode - that the November sweeps episodes are going to blow us away. Agree! Really nice ep, well done on all levels. I am not such a Duncan-disliker as you though - I don't think he's right for Veronica (chemistry is non-existent, for one thing), but he - and the whole "keeps it all inside" thing he has gong - creates some good tension and contrast. It's easy to see how he and Logan would become friends. Duncan has a kind of cool and competence that Logan lacks and I'm guessing, admires - and Logan has the fire and fearlessness that Duncan lacks, and probably admires and is attracted to. Well said.

So, here's something that occured to me last night. In "Normal is the Watchword," Dick keeps complaining about the "smell" of the bus, which is easy to dismiss as Dick just being a, well, dick. But...what if he wasn't? What if the bus really did smell off? Could that "smell" be related to whatever time-bomb substance made it explode and crash? Oohhh. Good clue spottage.

Concerning Keith pocketing the "Bug bug", I think he was protecting Veronica and himself and everyone in Neptune.
If Keith truly believes (as do I) that the town needs him as sheriff, besides what it might have done to Veronica it would have sent his chances to win the election right over a cliff like a bus-full of high school students.

I've seen the episode a couple of times now. Still pretty devastating stuff at the end.
An element to the kitchen argument that I missed the first time out; when Veronica opens the door, Wallace is holding his arms out to hug her...and she leaves him hanging. No wonder he was so hurt.
I understand her anger - boy, DO I - but transferring blame to him was the worst possible thing to do. She follows this up by dropping an ultimatum ("pick a side" I believe it was...is it me, or does that sound vaguely Loganish?).
Of course he's going to defend Jackie initially; it's in his makeup to believe only the best of people. Unfortunately that's the absolute last thing Veronica wanted to hear at that moment...and so the downward spiral begins.
One other slightly less-depressing thought: Logan and Jackie had better be careful about making fun of Mandy. She'll taze their asses.
Oh, and the worst thing of all: Jackie had her filthy, deceiving hands all over Backup!! Leave him out of your evil plans, witch!

Great episode for the character interactions: Wallace/Mom, Wallace/V, Keith/Lamb, and on & on ...
But.... i found some things puzzling. Maybe I was just tired. Did the credit card get stolen at all? Was this all part of the prank Jackie pulled on V? If so why the card being denied, and denied in plain sight for the tv audience? If not, then why did Jackie go back to the palm reader for the mamomax set up? What am I missing?
Then there's the stack of letters: from what I could see on my screen, they were all to an address in Chicago, IL. Probably, Alicia's mom. Nathan said he did not know Alicia's whereabouts and her mom would not tell him. According to Wallace, the return to sender was in Alicia's handwriting. Did she stick around Chicago long enough for hand delivery of that thick stack of mail before moving to Cleveland? "Veronica Mars" is usually so good in setting up the plausability of the MOTW and the characters backstories that I'm a bit surprised at this confusion.

Some thoughts:
Keith's encounter with a dui Doyle occurred in 1989. From a screen cap of Curley's record, he was arrested several times beginning in 1982 until 1986 when he was incarcerated for 3 years ( til 1989). Then he was off the books until 1997, with 2 more citations. What happened in between 1989 and 1997 for Curley? This quiet period is unusual for him. And any coincidence with the new tidbit about dui Doyle in 1989, just when Curley is back on the streets?
