Best entitle the post New Episode Broadcast Dates or something similar so that those who don't want to know (and I can't think why anyone wouldn't but best to be safe) can avoid it.

My computer totally skipped over your post and it wasn't until I saw we were on page three that I went back and saw yours.
I am so looking forward to seeing this ep. Taking everyone's ideas and watching this new is going to make it so much more meaningful for me.
BTW, Spring I loved the analysis of "Lover's Walk".

deborah: Yes, you're right, ensouled humans rape people every day - but do you think William would have? I don't think so. People have free will - I mean, they can choose to listen to their conscience or not, to "use their soul" or to let it atrophy to the point where they become "Warrens" - willing to rape or kill, etc.
But William definitely did not have an "atrophied" soul. If anything he was TOO sensitive and unable to assert himself. These days, I don't Spike would find himself in the same position he found himself in Buffy's bathroom that evening, if exposed to the same circumstances.
Spike has his soul back, and he's using it very effectively, as we saw when he didn't kill Wood. Soulless Spike (assuming no chip) would have killed Wood without a second thought - unless he thought it might upset Buffy. But that last episode made a point of showing us that he wasn't looking for Buffy's opinion or her approval. He made that decision all on his own.

Just to say a quick thanks Alexandra, for your thoughtful and wonderfully detailed review of the movie. I learned way more about it from you than I had ever heard about it before. All I'd heard before was that it was that AB starred in her own movie and that JM was her leading man. I'm thrilled to hear that he gets plenty of close ups.
Maybe the rest of us will be lucky and have a chance to see it sooner rather than later.

So much to reply to, so little time. I'll just have to go back over the posts tomorrow. But wanted to thank Lee for episode dates.

After totally wasting the morning, this afternoon I must take my smallest minions to the Dr.
Sick minions can be very cranky.

=^..^= Okay, it's official, my local tv station is now airing the new Angel episodes a full 6 days behind the American networks!
But am I bitter? (You bet I am!)
Oh well, good thing I have friends with digital cable who can tape it on Wednesday so I can at least view it before the end of the week (albeit maybe Friday or Saturday.)
Grrrr Arrrgh!

I've long avoided posting on this topic because never having been remotely in this situation I was loathe to speak to a totally foreign experience (esp as on other boards there seem to be people who might be speaking from personal experience). But... It's a horrible scene (and bizarrely everytime they air it it is cut in the middle by a commercial--to help defuse the emotional tension? or to increase it? It just seems out of place.), uncomfortable to watch, you just want it to be over. But... Yes, Spike tries to force himself on Buffy. But as uncomfortable as the scene is, the physical forcing as shown on screen involves him holding her down and trying to kiss her and grope her. He never even reaches for his belt buckle. He might have if she had not forced him off, but it always seemed to me that as abhorrent as the assault was, and it WAS ASSAULT, it did not get near to actual rape. Was that his intent? Would he have? From his words it almost seems more like he wants to force a verbal admission from her, he's just taking the physical route to do so. Or would he have come to his senses before it went further? Don't know. Maybe it doesn't matter what form the physical assault took, it was still forced and unwanted. Want to hear your thoughts.

"The Professions that pay the worst are (not in any order) teacher, writer, and editor. "
Sorry Nan, I'm going to have to put theatre artist in there on the lowest rung. Ever been paid $200 for 6 weeks of full-time work from a reputable, respectable company? Now that is crap pay.

What knee surgery? Is this a Buffy related injury? I know it must have come up in the zillion posts I missed and just don't have time to go back to.

I don't think you're going to want to go to the trouble of finding all these cuts (19). I'll list them and star the best Spikey ones. Except for Shedaisy (and OMWF) they're not current stuff. I've been going back thru my old CDs and gotten hooked on some stuff I haven't heard for awhile. Cut 6 is my all time favorite Spuffy tune, followed by cut 9. (I don't know how posting is going to reconfig. this list.)
1. After Dark - Tito & Tarantula/ *2. Strange face of Love "/ 3. Rest in Peace - OMWF/ 4. Tell me Mama, Tell Me Right Jackie Green/ 5. Walk Thru the Fire - OMWF/ **6. I'm Your Man - Leonard Cohen/ 7. I'm Lit - Shedaisy/ 8. Get Over Yourself - Shedaisy/ *9. One of Us cannot be wrong - L. Cohen/ 10. You're No Good - Linda Ronstadt/ 11. Bye Bye Baby - Janis Joplin/ 12. Repent - Shedaisy/ 13. Where Do We Go From Here - OMWF/ *14. Mine All Mine - Shedaisy/ 15. Cry Yourself Dry - J. Green/ *16. Back to the House that Love Built - T&T/ *17. Dance Me to The End of Love - L. Cohen/ *18. Goodnight Sweet Girl - JM, Mad Brilliant/ *19. As the Years Go Passing By - Geo Thorogood/

Actress. Got paid $725 for 8 weeks work. Sucks even worse than clerk, which allows you to live at the poverty level.

Rob said about the episode "Seeing Red", "At the end, the joy of rediscovery between Willow and Tara is forever destroyed at almost the precise moment Buffy and Xander reaffirm their feelings. It's come full circle as Willow begins her descent into someone less than human while Buffy takes her first full step out of the grave. A terrible beauty of an episode."
I'm so impressed with your analogy and the comparison between Willow and Buffy. I never see these nuances consciously (I keep hoping maybe *sub*consciously they are taking hold). But your post adds another layer to the episode for me that I deeply appreciate.
Thank you.
