You're unlikely to find anybody much less of a globe-trotter than me, but I nevertheless am the proud possessor of an actual Australian drover's coat. It's canvas, partially lined, and has straps that go around your legs inside to keep the heel-length panels from flapping. There's an extra panel across the shoulders to keep the rain from soaking in. It's divided, front and back, for riding.
With an appropriate snap-sided broad-brimmed canvas hat with a leather thong and slide for under the chin, I wear it when obliged to take my scooter out in a pouring rainstorm. It keeps me all toasty and dry, and I'm extremely fond of it and feel fortunate to have found it and recognized it for what it is.
Not quite as stylish as The Duster, but a creature of somewhat similar lineage, I think. And the only one I've ever seen, anywhere, except in pictures.

Watergal said, "The underwear question has already been answered? When? Did I miss it? I can't believe I missed it! Last I heard was a jokingly answered "No." but nothing else since. I have yet to hear a serious answer. Where can I get a serious answer for this question Alexandra?" Ask and ye shall receive. Great interview with lots of info: netscape.eonline.com/Celebs/Star/Marsters/Enjoy!! I know I did.

Watergal, that's some gallery, even if it's all in French (and unreadable by Frenchless me). The Spikepic you recommended--the only words that come are "devilishly handsome." I think I downloaded about 20 assorted ones. How did you come across it? A link, or did you just go looking for Spike pictures?

Yup, that would be the "Ummm, no." I remember. But was he serious, or just put on the spot I wonder. I have got to give James credit though, the guy field difficult and amazingly personal questions with great aplomb.
And Nan, aren't useful clothes the best kind? I now would really like one of those drover's coats.
Oh, ummm... Could someone please tell me what Red Bull is? (Other than a ruminant with auburn fur.)

Nan, that was part of my homework for the "to boldly go where no S'cubie has gone before" mission. I decided I should check out the French sites for good pics. This one is amazing, but many of the pics can't be linked to, that's why I haven't linked to more (see my link fest on part fifteen for some of these pics.)
Oh, and Nan, you may want to wander over to the Giles section. There are some really lovely Giles pics I wasn't able to link to either.

Re the interview, my reaction was that JM's answer was honest, if a bit embarrassed.
The practice of wearing underwear seems not to be universal. Is that a person's true preference or just the disinclination to do laundry very often? It would be an interesting sociological study to do a survey on the 'wearing' or 'not wearing', and correlate it to whether the 'wearer' does his/her own laundry or if he/she has someone else who does it. Both Spike and JM seem to do their own laundry (if the interview on the Craig Kilborn show is an indicator).
If only JM knew that there are probably a lot of people who would happily do his laundry. It is probably just as well if he *doesn't* have underwear, because anyone who would *happily* do his laundry for him might steal the underwear anyway (rather like Spike stole Buffy's underwear). Okay, I'm ending the discussion here instead of pursuing that thought any further.

Rob said, "I wouldn't know an edit button from a panic button."
Neither would we, Rob, neither would we. (Major sarcasm over the edit button mystery.)

Red Bull is an annoyingly prolific "energy boosting" canned drink. Tastes sort of like a citrus flavored soda, only it's not carbonated. It's real popular with the youth for mixing with alcohol so that we can not pass out as early and therefore drink more and end up puking on the dance floor of trendy clubs or dead in an ER.

Well, I've got a couple of questions jotted down in case I get to ask a question at the 2 Q&As, but they are character related - Josh suggested one of them 'Has playing the character of Spike through his growth and development inspired you in your own emotional or spiritual life' (goodie, yes?) and one I thought of: 'I read that you said a couple of years ago that you thought Spike's attitude might stem from lack of enough mother love. I think you were joking, but after LMPTM, I'm wondering if you had anything to do with bringing that insight into the story arc this season?'
I jotted down your football question. I didn't realize you really wanted to KNOW that...see how absolutely not into football I am? But now I know, so if I can slip it into the conversation at my totally might-not-happen dinner chat with James, I will! :-)

I don't even know what the underwear question IS, much less know the answer. Unless you are talking about the fact that he has said on multiple occasions that he doesn't wear underwear as Spike because Spike wouldn't.
