Rob,
While the formation and encouragement of the Soulful Spike Society might have pushed and prodded you to your current success, it is you and you alone that has bloomed as the marvelous writer that you are. I, too, am proud of ALL our little group, and would like to take this moment to applaud us all. *claps loudly*
However, when it comes to your writing... sure, in the very beginning I did some basic editing for you, and yes, I remember well the days when you submitted without "paragraphs." *just laughing* However, that day has long since passed. You do a wonderful job of self-editing now, and other than tweaking a few things simply to match the format already presented on the website, your submissions are virtually edit-free. Long gone are the days of my reading you once for enjoyment, then once again to "paragraph", and then once more for punctuation, grammar and spelling corrections. Now, jsut like the rest of the group, I simply read your submission to the site and shake my head in amazement. I then change the font and some spacing; it's almost a complete routine now.
If you feel that without us, you wouldn't have ever made the endeavor to write then perhaps we do deserve some credit, because it is my opinion you are going to take this new found skill of yours and make plenty of other happy now.
Much mention has been made recently of you posting your work to other sites. I say "Go for it!" While it saddens my heart to know that you will be snatched up and we will eventually lose you, I too think that there is a vaster audience awaiting you out there. I will miss using that little proud phrase "Only on the S'cubie Website, Rob Sorenson's...." however. *G* I jsut hope you stay with us and toss us a bone now and then *wink*

Great work, Rob. I'm dying to read the last chapter. I hope it is the last - I don't think I could stand any more suspense.

VLAD: Your brush with greatness photo is fantastic. I had no idea you had gotten to "zero degrees" of separation with SMG. What was she like? Were there any hidden depths? She looks kinda two-dimensional.
ROBERT: I am curious to see how you wrap up your story! Again, nice action and "in-character" dialogue and portrayals.
I completed my obligations to the IRS, and hope to have my Harsh Light of Day analysis in to Vlad tonight.
My UPN channel continues to go in and out, though it was back (not pretty, but back) last night. A repeat of SchoolHard was on, which was fun to see again, despite the graininess and the wavery lines.

Patti says: "I don't even know what the underwear question IS, much less know the answer. Unless you are talking about the fact that he has said on multiple occasions that he doesn't wear underwear as Spike because Spike wouldn't."
I thought it was the other way around - Spike didn't wear underwear because James didn't. If he went through a poverty-stricken, rebellious artist stage, it's easy to believe he just got in the habit of not wearing underwear. My oldest son (turned 18!!) does that kind of stuff. Underwear is optional, he goes from shaving his head to having a huge poodle-head of hair, he's very artsy and likes to shop at the GoodWill, and there's no telling what he will - or won't - wear.
Patti, please ask James to tell you all the details of his underwear history, and if he claims to be wearing them now, don't just take him at his word. I would suggest this wording: "James, what about your underwear? I'd like the full, inside story."

Alexandra said... //In "Conversations with Dead People", when the house is becoming completely trashed around Dawn, writing appears in red on the living room wall, "Mother's milk is red today". I never knew what that meant. So maybe that will have some meaning in the finale. Possibly that some female will become a vampire? Don't know. //
So I know that Dawn was the one who saw the writing on the wall, so to speak, however, how chilling is the whole "Mother's milk" line, given the history between Spike and his mum?

I just want to say, Adam Busch's band is really really good. The energy they bring to their live show is something like I haven't seen since I used to go see Barenaked Ladies perform in very small clubs back in 1994-95.
Adam himself is kinda skinny. And he can sing! And the band is so much fun to watch and listen to! And there are a couple of hotties in the band as well. We were sitting at a table right by Adam's family, including his grandma.
If any of you ever get the chance to see these guys live, don't pass it up. This isn't some kind of actor-wannabe-rock-star deal -- this band completely rocks. Actually, I think Adam was singing with them before he became an actor, if I remember correctly.

ROB: I'm sorry if what I posted about NB's future plans spoiled you at all - I truly am sorry if you didn't want to know ANYTHING and I ruined it. I haven't had a chance to read your newest chapters but I am looking forward to them!!
ALL THE S'CUBIES: Acutally, I apologize to everyone for posting that. This weekend I thought about it and realized that it probably made a couple of people mad at me for spoiling things for them. I humbly apologize. My only rationalization (not that this is a good one at all) was that...umm...was that...OK, there is NO rationalization. I really, really, really am sorry. Forgive me?
SPRING: check your email.
I probably won't be posting much this week considering this is going to be the WEEK FROM HELL for me at work!! Pray that I make it through - and no, I'm not kidding.
Oh yeah, one last thing:
The S'cubies made me laugh, the S'cubies made me laugh, la la la la....the S'cubies made me laugh!

Having converted the temperatures, I got curious about time zones and went to timeanddate.com (or timeandate?) and found that at 11:30 AM EDT --right now(Eastern seaboard daylight savings time, the time listed on our postings) it is 1:00 AM on Tuesday in Adelaide.
So Kerrie is 13 and a half hours ahead of New York City. Kerrie--what's up with the half hour?
Also, when does Buffy air in Australia? It airs on Tuesdays in the states, so will you see it tonight (your time?)--13.5 hours ahead of most of the rest of us?
We need a new ep. We are discussing weather! (Altho, one of the things I love about this board is the getting to know stuff). So, to add to your climate knowledge:
In Nashville you need the same wardrobe as Watergal needs in Canada--something for everything--but probably reversed in frequency. Lots of summerwear (May-Sept temps run in the 80's and LOTS of 90's). But every winter we get at least a few really really cold days (single digits, records are below 0 (degrees F) and some snow, but the biggest problem is ice--which I defy even Yankees to drive on! The strangest times are early spring and late fall when (Feb/Mar and Nov) when temps might be lows in teh 20's one day and highs in the 80's 36 hours later (which is why we are big on tornadoes). One Christmas it was 73 degrees and we ran the air conditioning, one year we had a snow day on May 3--so both wardrobes stay out nearly year round.
This lesson brought to you by "I'm going to go crazy before 7 PM Tuesday night!"

Did everybody already see (and did somebody already post) on the time on the main ScoopMe page about Jane Espenson being hire to write for the Gilmore Girls' spinoff and possibly for GG as well

Bring your camera. See if you can get visuals. Vlad can post them. Also tape measure. Ebulgeometrics will apppreciate. Tape recorder. We'll want to hear his own words. (Vlad, can we do audio?)

Hi everyone.
Never made it into the office this weekend so fell more behind than usual on the board. Very busy at work too.
Patti: Had an Email from Miss Pamela this morning. She coming to the Chicago Convention as a GOLD Package ticket holder, no less; courtesy of a very generous and thoughtful husband. I am sorry to hear she has been ill am very excited to be meeting up with another (albeit recently estranged) S'cubie. Months ago she and I were discussing the possibly of her coming to the convention and I'm delighted she will make it here after all.
Also meeting up with me/us there will be a S3 lurker, one Kathy Groth, who found out I was going from reviewing our old postings and Emailed me a week or so ago. She sounds very interesting and really nice. She's early 40s, in the nursing profession, is a fencer and participates in medival reinactments. She will be accompanyied by her 12 yr old son Sam who is also a huge fan of the show. I have invited Kathy to take the plunge and join in our post new episode discussions this week. I hope she will take me up on it.
Oh, Miss Pamela and Kathy are both doing the (costly) photo sessions with JM and ASH. I have not responded to the Email that would reserve my spot (but am really chewing my nails up over it. Well, not my nails so much, but my cuticles are a mess).
Um, oh yeah. Alexandra: Thanks for the suggestions about questions. I will keep them in mind but if I can think of any questions that I personally am burning for the answers to then professional football is out (sorry). But your's are my back-ups. Most of the questions I have would be more appropriate for the writers or JW/MN rather than JM. I am mildly curious about his appearance at the original audition for the role;e.g., clothes & hair-I've heard he used both a Southern and a English accent at the audition- and if they gave him a script or if he had to come up with something on his own, and in the case of the latter, what did he choose to do? Also, after the audition could he tell immediately that he'd nailed the part or was there any competition, since I cannot imagine anyone else as Spike. The other thing I'm curious to know is if he and/or any of the other actors ever questioned anything in the script as being inconsistent with their character or with what had happened before (you all know me and my pet-peeves when it comes to inconsistencies and I'm curious if the actors themselves have ever noticed any and brought them to the attention of the writers, etc...But I'm still trying to think up other questions. I'd love to ask if he has any plans on doing any more theatre in Chicago (he used to be in theatre here, I think it was the Goodman Theatre). Gary Sinese was a founding member of Steppenwolf Theatre and he's come back once or twice to star in plays here. God, that would be awesome to see him in a starring role in the theatre. Actually, I could work your Macbeth question into that one, couldn't I?
Must get back to work. deborah cohen

Hey, I tried to do italics by following the instructions Vlad posted some time back. The word I tried to italicize by surrounding with "<>" just disappeared entirely. What did I do wrong? The way I read the instructions I understood "<>" were used to italicize and brackets for bold. Vlad or somebody whose mastered the mysteries of emphasis here, please advise.

Groan. Please forgive my atrocious grammer (lack there of), spelling and absence of paragraph breaks in my preceeding messages. I need a one day work-shop with Nan.
