( Chapter 23...The Conclusion! (Clarification) )
I am an incoherent idiot!
For those of you who were confused the first two words of my last post were for Vlad. The rest was for Rob.
Now, hopefully, I can sit down to watch TV without thinking of any other errors.

What you should know about Renaissance Faires? How many hours do you have? This is a multi page subject(s). Like, costuming, character development and presentation, camping gear, weatherproofing, speech/dialect, history vs. fantasy, superstitions, social order and customs. 'Way more stuff than we can accomodate here. However, please feel free to email me privately (I'm on the Super Secret Scubie page) and I'll be glad to answer all your questions.

Even though we're short of 500 posts, we're close. It was suggested earlier that we move up the board before the ep tonight airs, to begin the new discussion. I think that's a good idea.
When will the last of us have had a chance to see the ep? When can we legitimately begin posting about it (translated into EDT?). Please advise.

Your story doesn't tell if/how the Scoobies reached Xander, and how he came out of the coma. I think it needs that for full closure. A chapter 22, or an epilogue, would seem indicated. One last push, you think?

(don't read if you haven't finished "Truths" yet--spoilers) Rob,
Far be it for me to tell a storyteller how to tell his story, BUT I'm greedy so I agree with Nan. I want to read the "happily ever part" with Xander all well and okay with Faith again. Plus do they tell Dawn she killed the guy and how do(es) Buffy/Dawn handle that?

Last night while channel surfacing I stumbled upon Seth Green featuring in some MTV version of Candid Camera (or so it appeared to me). He was set-up by a friend at some bogus, illegal gambling party. At the party he is called aside by someone who tells him that because his daughter is a big fan he's warning him that in 30 - 40 minutes the game twill be raided and that he should calmly, without arousing suspicion, cash out and leave. He also mentions the name of the guy that's supposedly running the game.
Before Seth has left the bogus Cal Gaming Commission raiding party makes a rather spectacular entrance through the plate glass window, rifles raised, and orders everyone down on the ground. After a while Seth is pulled aside and told that he had been the one to give up the name of the guy running the illegal game. So the idea, I guess, is that Seth is accused of 'narcing' to the police in front of his friends and peers and how he reacted to it.
Anyway, the details are not important. Significant was Seth's characteristic utter cool and composure under pressure throughout. Just like Oz, how 'bout that?
He looked great and it was gratifying to see how he so totally kept his cool (I so admire that ability) even though he seemed to be genuinely taken in by the rouse(sp?), but I couldn't help thinking how alike he was to his character Oz. That role was obviously no great stretch for him. Unlike JM who appears to be so utterly different from Spike, well, it just goes to underscore yet again JM's tremendous talent in bringing Spike so vividly to life.

(don't read if you haven't finished) Count me as a vote for the Epilogue (or maybe a sequel? Huh? Huh?) so we know how Xander's doing and whether Dawn is ever told what happened. Me, I think the Dawnster can handle it.

This is a theory I first posted on the Episode board (can't remember which ep, even tho I was just looking at it, but I've included the date). Just wanted to move it over here in case any small part of it is even close to what really happens. Since we've heard the rumor that Spike may show up on Angel, I like this theory even better because it gives us an unchipped, unsouled Spike who may still be aligning himself with Angel's forces for good, but would clearly be on the razor's edge when it came to moral decisions.
#319 Far Out Chip Theory Posted on 2/6/2003 4:46:09 PM By Sue P
Okay, continuing from my "Random Observations" post.
5. I'm with those who believe Buffy will decide to have the chip removed--whatever her reasons. Here's my bizarre, season ending, theory on why. Beljoxa's eye said the FE could take advantage of the opportunity presenting itself because "the mystical forces surrounding the Chosen line have become irrevocably altered--unstable, vulnerable." (Giles asked what caused the alteration): "The Slayer." As I see it there are 3 mystical forces surrounding Buffy. 1. Her magical resurrection. 2. Her mystical-key sister. 3. (Her) mystically ensouled vampire.
Let's assume (for discussion) that the current manifestation of the FE can be thwarted (even if it can't be defeated) by getting rid of at least one of these circumstances. #2: We all know Buffy "won't chose Dawn." Didn't in Season 5, isn't going to now. #1: I don't think Buffy will sacrifice herself--been there done that--when there is an alternate choice: #3: The mystically ensouled vampire. Isn't this the greatest fear of all of us B/S shippers--that Spike will "get" to sacrifice himself to save Buffy (and the world)? However, he doesn't have to DIE----just become UN-mystically ensouled--GIVE UP THE SOUL--which becomes a much bigger issue if Spike is de-chipped. And wouldn't we all love to see what a de-chipped, de-souled Spike would do--not turn into "Spike-eaus" (whatever the Angelus version of Spike is) I'm thinking.

I jsut came on to check my mail at lunch so I cant stay but I had to check the board.
*ahem* Folks, when I read Rob's story last night, the first thing I thought of was...well its was "Wow." *L* But after that, my very first impression was "Oh kewl! He left it open for a sequel."
Am I right Rob, because I found nothing wrong with the story ending as it had. You told the tale you wanted to tell. I loved Spike strolling off into the night, duster flapping with all of New York laying silent witness to the Million and second story happening beneath our very noses. He's the Big Bad again... he simply has changed sides. 'Bout time, me thinks.
Anyway...I can see Xander being pulled out of his coma with buffy and willows help and then the 7 of them (B,R,F,W,X,S,D) are off to hunt Watchers.
Rob, i loved the story. You took me up and safely landed me and made me do the all important thing....you made me ask "That was great! Let's do it again!"
Vlad.

She obviously made a mistake in choosing Freddie Prinze, Jr. over you. His charisma quotient is the equal of a cardboard cutout. A question - SMG is 5'3". Does that mean you are 4'11"? Alexandra K.

Diane said: SMG is 5'3" ?? She looks so tiny next to everyone else on the show! What'd they do, cast giants?? Diane (5'2") At one time I know I read somewhere that JM was 5ft 10in tall. But the other men on the show are so much taller than he that for the longest time I was convinced that they must all be giants. Finally my wall of denial that allows me to deny the evidence of my own senses cracked just enough to question that 5ft 10in height I'd once read. It took a long time though. In a fanfiction I read recently Xander describes Spike as not being a big guy but sometimes larger than life. I would say that sums him up nicely. So, does anyone one know his true height? deborah cohen
