Don is a dipball.
Eli is NOT stupid enough to use a stolen credit card for home delivery.
"Koi pond in the corner"
Heh.. both laughing at the "take my word for it"
I'd take it because he's NOT that stupdi.
Tutor. Huh. You're gonna regret this Wallace.
So he knows her how?
Oh. He's a fan?
Yep. He's a big-league fan.
And a big ol' dork, too. ;D
Internet order. Yeah, we got web-pizza here too. It frightens me.
HEE!! She is SO much trouble for the poor kid...
Who's the smart-assed moppet?
"The dog was quite surprised by it"
ADRIAN MONK, building inspector?!?

"It won't be a billable hour"
Dean and his wife, yeah, I'd suspect him. "Unwilling donor" in a public hospital?
Ah. The wife did it with her brother. "I can say half a sentence and get her to yell at me for three hours"
Yeah. Hard to trace fake guns.
What is this silent tableau of Frenchmen?
"Their way of saying "break a leg""
"try the veal, and scene!"
Tutor.
Ah. Crap. No, okay. He's a moderately ethical tutor-type.
Hee! Film of the same people..

Yeah. Stolen truck.
Well, hopefully Wallace will use the answers the RIGHT way.
The pres is keeping Keith busy. Guy thinks quick on his feet. So is he gonna cop to the organlegging?
So Wallace is gonna get busted hardcore?
Ah. The rent-a-cops.
Don't push her. Give her her necklace back or you will get realllllly screwed....
That isn't the right mask in the bag.
Heh!! Sting.
Small price to pay. Makes perfect sense. But how, Keith, can you trust him?
She's not gonna get her necklace back...
Ah. That's the little girl she saw outside the cop's office.
(eyes rolling at the little girl)
Good for you, Veronica. Take it.
So what's Wallace gonna do with the bust (apparently for plagarism) on his record?
Soooo. Why did Claire not point out Wang Yi when she was she saw the picture the first time?

Hey--isn't VM dressed as Tina Majorino's character from "Napoleon Dynamite?" Probably a better guess than my thought, which was "Veronica Lodge."

Sigh. Wallace, Wallace...what are you thinking, man? Is there no one who could've talked some sense into him? Oh yeah...Veronica. Who was a little busy this week. Again, I sigh. On the bright side, I see Veronica/Wallace scenes in the very near future, which I've missed immensely.
This episode was especially fab, by the way. Tons of darkly hilarious snark. Too many good lines to mention, but Lamb and Cliff were especially fun. Gotta love the robot.
Also, lots of Backup! That m'dawg, you know. V should have known Weevil was innocent the moment Backup didn't growl at him.
Lastly, would it be in seriously poor taste to ask about Francis Capra's physical condition? I'm used to the weight already, but...there was something seriously up with his face, no? Or have I really missed something over the last couple of years?

One last thing: if this episode was the key in terms of a full season pickup, couldn't the CW have had the decency to show a new episode of Gilmore Girls as a lead-in? Or did they want to see if the show could hold up on its own?

So, I don't think the final girl was actually raped. She was one of the protesting feministas right? I think she set it up to look like she was raped to keep the heat and PR up on the issue. That's why she lied about the boyfriend. that was my interpretation as well. i wonder if getting the Lampoon in trouble (since it happened just after she appeared on a photoshopped cover of theirs) was a nice bonus for her.

He played Lucky the janitor last season. (Which I only know because someone else pointed it out in episode 1.) He played Lucky? Well - I gotta say, my memory does not agree with that at all, which is not to say that its wrong, as my memory can go very wrong on this stuff . . . but I don't remember Lucky looking much like that TA . . . ETA: Did some Googling, and found that it is the same actor, named "James Jordan." I guess I am just not properly picturing Lucky. Totally agree. Lucky was scrawny and creepy. This guy looks fuller and (I thought) kind of cute. Amazing what a full head of black hair and an air of authority and confidence can do. So I guess the guy should get acting props!

My impressions before reading the thread:
Okay - I loved this episode although I'm a little leery about the final reveal. Still - noir wise and character wise - VM was full on snarky, twisted and corrupted last night. First off Cliff was there. Hello Cliff - we've missed you so much. And Wallace - hi dude. His storyline is a bit cliche and boring and I'm confused as to what actually happened. Did he cheat? Did he just let the professor know right away he cheated? Because I'm sorry if Wallace did indeed cheat how could the Professor open the exam and immediately know this? I think Wallace blew the whistle on the scam. And Wallace wants to be a mechanical engineer? Really? Huh.
Along with Cliff - squee Cliff - we had Weevil and Lamb assuming mainstage positions with Keith back in nonromantic mode playing a prominent role. I just really completely enjoyed the interplay of characters in this. Weevil seemed much more Weevillike - cutting comments (good cut on V when she accused him), snarky comments (snerk on the jail decorating) and playing the "Hey look who Veronica is accusing first now role".
Lamb was his usual ass (your robot is pretty bad dude by the way) but then Lamb works best in smaller, cocky, cutting mode to me. I don't want Lamb to be anything but the corrupt Sheriff because this is what he should be in a noir world. I like the small glimpses we sometimes get of what's behind the mask but that's all I want to see.
And then we have Veronica - in full on snarky, bitch mode. (a little too bitchy? Maybe we need a BFF scene soon Rob) Was it the necklace that had her fur all prickly? Lilly always pushes all her buttons. I had no problem with her accusing Weevil because Weevil has done a lot of grey, borderline things. Hello - Thumper? So this didn't bother me.
As far as the necklace grab - I kind of loved the oh just whatever mode of it. And frankly - that little brat would never have handed the necklace over. I can completely understand Veronica's frustration and anger there. Was it a little harsh? I guess - but as someone who deals with children a lot - some kids are just brats. Handling them with kid gloves doesn't always work.
I loved Veronica taking Logan with her when she confronted the what she thought was the rapist. Sweet. (His wig at the party - bwah. Not your best look Jason.) His "no" at the film geek party and pointing at V - hee. Loved that.
As for the notrape - if that was indeed what it was. We are clearly being left with the impression that Claire faked her rape. So was she acting on her own? Is this a feminist thing? Because if so - I simply can not believe the network would okay this. A woman falsely crying rape? No - just no. Bad move Rob if that's where you are going. And how lame. Hopefully - this was Claire acting on her own to bring more attention to the dangers and not a femininist conspired act.
And I will say that Nish and friend did seem - well as much as that terrible scene could be - surprised by the rape at the radio station.
Random notes:
Loved the fanboy at the pizza place. Hee, hee, hee. And his accent. He did an accent. My improv class will love you for that.
Keith's story was interesting and the audition for the voiceover artist was hysterical. I loved, loved, loved the running the lines scene. Hee! Second time Veronica has used an audition to find someone. (nice memories of Russkie Business).
I actually kind of liked the Dean last night a little. Still not a Begley fan but this was interesting. The play of emotions on Keith's face when he got the phone call about the hospital was so nicely done. Beautiful facework. Nice dark twisted action (kidnapping) with a strong moral reason for it and then the money - payola coming into play.
Loved the title this week.
Loved seeing snarky Logan with Weevil - though the lines weren't quite up to their past performances.
And I'll just finish with I love Cliff. Just seeing him in the credits made me squee with happiness. The show did not feel like noirlite to me last night. I still hate, hate, hate this stupid rape mystery but I did feel much more moral ambiguity, the layers of corruption (nice job having the rent a cops - the authority figures - be guilty) settle in around Hearst and Veronica was again delivering an invested performance (not phoning it in).

Didn't you just love the Snickerdoodle me email from Wallace? I immediately thought of you Rob. He has either really bad acne or some sort of med problem because yeah - all the makeup wasn't hiding it very well last night. Wasn't it a great ep? Nicely twisted and layered and left me wondering and wanting to talk about it. Loved it, my favorite of the season so far. I think having an interesting MOTW combined with an interesting B story really made the difference.

But then I was thrown off a bit because old exams are often fair game, but then during the exam, Wallace, who had been struggling, was the first one to finish by far, indicating that he had seen and memorized those exact questions before. And the look between him and the professor was very significant; the professor knew and Wallace knew what he had done. And I guess Wallace ratted out the "tutor" to mitigate his situation? I thought the whole plotline added a lot of depth to Wallace's character. He's a good guy, but he doesn't always do the right thing, folks.

Yes - I would guess steroid abuse too but since I don't really know I haven't said anything. But it seems classic.
