Nobody caught the star wars ref? About "dressing like a wookie?" "Laugh it up?" That was a direct reference to the movie Fanboys that Bell is starring in coming out "soon." BTW, I saw previews for that movie recently on a DVD... it looks absolutely hilarious! I replayed them at least 4 times in a row.
In my opinion this was one of the best (if not the best) Veronica Mars of the season. It felt like an episode from Season one or two.. and not jsut "an" episode, one of the better ones. It was a good case; I really liked the hooker and the term paper client. The banter was fantastic and they did a nice job of carrying along hte arc mystery but concentrating on the one at hand. VM still has it! I laughed outloud so many times. I was moved. And they even surprised me once or twice.

I agree, the last two episodes have been really good. I'm encouraged by the writing and hope they keep it up.

Teaser
Hee Veronica and Logan are cute
Egged.
The lampoon office got egged too.
Weevil mentions how dumb the egging is. Sing it, brother.
Weevil mentions the egging of the Dean's window. Did the authorities and Keith know about this?
They didn't put it in there because they couldn't find a way to make it funny.
Lamb vs Keith.
And Lamb checks out Keith's ass on the way out?
Is this guy who sold exams?
Friends and Family plan.
Whoa, that's a downer.

He doesn't know anything about her, but he's going commit suicide if he doesn't get the girl?
Poughkeepsie
Comic-con.
Wow, the writers really are just a bunch of geeks. I love it.
Is this a whole Graduate scenario?
The Around the World Party.
She's a hooker.

Part II Sexual charity case I do not like these friends. Zagat guide for hookers. Amuse me! Amuse me, dammit! And Keith's response. The Egging question. Hookers at Logan's. Veronica asks the question. Veronica wants to know everything warts and all, Logan wants his romantic notions. Hooker's known for their punctuality? *too many jokes* So it was genuine. Neat, I think.

Part III Awkward. This chick is really familar. Madison. Somebody needs to bitchslap Madison. Stat. He got to keep the Sheriff's uniform? It's her special day. Fern: eggs = vandalism, always has. What statue? Nish. But his car was egged before hand. Nish knows something. Lamb and Keith again. Hee!! Judge Kramer. WTF?

Part IV
Ah, the pimp beat her up. Pimps are bad, yo.
It was a set up?
Blackmail: the go to idea
Cool music.
That's what the preying mantis says before she bites the male's head off.
Blackmailer gets blackmailed.

Coda
So Wendy was genuine and pimp lady did the make up bruises. So she's not abusive, she's just a shrewd business lady.
Weevil recognizes Wendy. So she'll never be able to live it down.
Mindy was at the Dean's office. I'm confuzzled. Unless Landry took her car.
I really don't like these friends.
So she went back to prostitution
When they were broken up over the holidays. Dude, just like Gilmore Girls Logan.

I don't know when I'll have some time to write the review for this ep, but in the meantime, I urge you to go read The Royal Anna's post about the relationship between Logan and Veronica, and her other thoughts regarding Season 3 so far. An excerpt: "One of the things I love about Veronica and Logan is that on the surface they're not that compatible. On a day-to-day level they don't have much in common. It's on a deeper emotional level they're profoundly connected; they've been through things, together and apart, that no-one else can understand. We've seen that before, but what we hadn't seen until this season was how they might make the everyday reality of a relationship work.
Season three has proved me to me that I love Veronica and Logan as a couple. I love watching them negotiate what it means to be in a relationship. If people expected a story that was all passion and angst and epic love I think they missed the point: for Veronica and Logan, that's their starting point. It's the little things that come harder. And for them to see that happiness isn't some great elusive thing out of their grasp, but a tiny, unacknowledged thing found in tiny, unacknowledged moments, is immense. The moments where the two of them have been happy and relaxed together matter immensely, because it's not a place either of them come to easily.
I will always love the fragility of their relationship - they are two people who have every reason in the world not to let themselves get too close to the people they love. And watching them find that easy closeness and hardly dare acknowledge has been as riveting viewing for me as ever it was."

S’cubies! Veronica Mars fans! Yet another review is ready for your reading pleasure! I present to you:
Poughkeepsie, Tramps, and Thieves: Watch Your Step – by Fotada
This was the episode about the nerdy guy and the hooker he met and fell in love with at a sci-fi convention. You can find the review by going to the S3 home page ( www.soulfulspike.com/indexholder.htm), or you can access it directly by clicking on the image below:[/size] Hurry don’t delay! Time’s a’wasting!! And after you’ve read it, drop the bomb (or more likely, the kudos) on Fotada![/b]

Nice work, Fotada! I like the way you pointed out that “Chelsea” really does turn out to be a “Six,” in more ways than one.
And I liked the line about Veronica being “gobsmacked” to learn that “Chelsea” really did like Max after all. She is always expecting the worst, isn’t she?
The landmine imagery was just right for the couples you paralleled – Logan with his “Madison” landmine, and Wendy with the details of her hooker-past and the “no note” lie she told, just waiting to do the nasty work of destroying the relationship.
Ker-plooey, indeedy!
Your review was fun to read. Thank you!

Nice Review Fotada. I liked this episode. Loved the BSG reference, Veronica has come a long way since learning what Frak was , to using it a few times in this episode. It was a fun with the sci-fi parts, but heartbreaking with the L/V scenes. That is what makes this show so wonderful, they can make you laugh and be Heartbroken all in the same episode.

Veronica refers to him as "Sir Cheats A Lot" and he happily acknowledges that his business of selling answers to tests is booming. People use him for his skills and pay him for his time and effort, just like they do Wendy. Just another landmine I guess!

I have to say, I really like the BSG references they've been throwing in this season as well. And as Vlad mentioned, I think there was also a shout-out to KB's movie coming out soon. This was a tight, enjoyable ep that held up on the re-watch.

Very much enjoyed the review. Loved the foreshadowing of prostitution in Veronica's comments when Max hires her. Completely did NOT catch that when viewing.
LOL--the title of this episode always puts Cher in my head, no fail.
