Rae, that is a neat picture - and don't worry about the one the tide washed away - all the sand grains are still around somewhere, forming little spin-offs...

Dave has been abused WAY worse than that, Rob! And he's still here. A good trait in man or vampire.

I meant to say "especially when I was running from everyone FEELING lost and naked".
No... contrary to any news reports you may see, I wasn't running around on Pompano Beach naked
Well. The whole story is ruined now.

My brother lives in Florida...
Ok, that has nothing to do with anything, I just wanted to take part...

Hi, I have been lurking for a looong time and thought I should extend my salutations before ScoopMe is no more. I generally don't have too much to say, as by the time I get there all the intelligent stuff has already been said. But I like you guys, and would like to stay, if you'll have me. < Rob-- my husband and I think your writing is better than buttered toast! Lastly, I feel honored to be topping the eppy board (which I no longer bother to read, as you all talk so much I couldn't possibly fit it in!) by a third post! Whew-- de-lurking makes me nervous... Welcome. We love it when new blood decloaks, especially Vlad. He REALLY loves fresh blood. Anyhow, not to worrry -- if you like playing with the S'Cubies already, know that we already have plans to continue long after ScoopMe is no more. Invite your friends! Check out www.geocities.com/scubiefan/ for all the sordid details; peruse the new board (just a toy we're playing with really, until ScoopMe is disabled and it or something like it becomes the real deal), and while you're there, e-mail Vlad for a profile sheet. And don't mind if we get too fast -- some of us have to go back and answer big blocks of posts all at once ... right Patti?

Patti: Your two part question to JM was inspired (was he satisfied with resolution of character and was Spike satisfied? - paraphrasing you of course). Brilliant query. All in all I would say you should be incredibly satisfied with your JM 0 degrees of separation encounters. Lord knows I am thrilled by your fabulously detailed report. You put an enormous amount of time and effort into sharing your experience with us and I truly appreciate it.
Thanks, it was a labour of love!
BTW, where did you get the B&W head shot he signed for you? (on the internet somewhere.) If it's the shot that got him the role of Spike that means that he'd dyed his hair before the audition so the call must have been for bleached hair, no? (Not exactly. He read for the part brunette and curly (natural), Joss said he needed to be blonde, the makeup folk on set went further and made him peroxide blond instead, which also changed his hair texture and when Joss saw the pic he then thought James was right for the part. I believe James meant that if Joss had not liked him blonde he would have been killed off as was initially planned, in the first couple of episodes. Drusilla was supposed to be the focus...)

The Last Unicorn by Peter S Beagle.
I have read it, and loved it. I'd also put Wind in the Willows on any list. It is magical.

I'll be the no-underwear lady getting a ticket from the cop. But can we expand the scene a little, to where the cop takes me up on my implicit offer? BTW, who is playing the cop?
Spring, as the no-underwear-lady, it will be your responsibility to expand the scene with the cop...and who would you LIKE to play the cop?

That must have been a tough choice, Spike or Dru. As interesting as I find Spike, I also have always loved Drusilla, but then I'm not sure she'd have been as much fun with a chip in her head. I would definitely have loved to see more of her over the years.
Maybe if Spike continues on Angel, Dru can make an appearance or two, and not just in flashback. She's already made at least one trip to Los Angeles, when she sired her "grandmother", and then she and Darla went on that oh-so-memorable Thelma & Louise tear.

Half the time I don't get to post stuff just because 10,000 posts have come on after the post I wanted to respond to.
That never stops me...

David, our official late night greeter, has already presented you with a fine S'cubie welcome. Allow me to offer the official S'cubie Spike salute, which is index and fourth finger proudly upraised.
Good you've been lurking, Nagaem, so you know what kind of wild insanity you're getting into. Be sure to post early and often, so we can get to know you...and request a profile form from Vlad, who's recovering in his crypt at scubiefan@yahoo.com and may not get back to you right away. If somebody doesn't tell you about the supersecret S'cubie e-mail listing, remember to ask one of us about it once we (collectively, if not individually) have your e-mail address for reference. Sometimes we forget about this. Forgive us: we're young (as a board, at least).
All well-behaved newcomers who don't object to occasional Spike idolatry and random silliness are warmly welcome.
Nan
