Nagaem MC and James: Welcome to the S'cubies! I am sorry for the delay in welcoming you but please know that I am very glad you have joined us! Nagaem MC - I am very glad you decided to de-lurk and start posting. As you can probably already tell, we are a group that posts (a lot), disagrees (sometimes, just ask Dave) but sticks up for one another (again, just ask Dave). To quote Watergal: "Welcome a-board!" James - I am very glad that you drifted on over from the episode board. I have appreciated your posts over there - yes, I may not have agreed with you on some issues but isn't that what makes it fun? If everyone agreed with everyone, it would be quite a boring world! Welcome, welcome, welcome! Have you two gotten profiles from Vlad? If you want one, just email him at scubiefan@yahoo.com. Sorry if this has already been mentioned - I was away from the board for most of the day yesterday and I haven't caught up yet! Again, welcome Nagaem MC and James!! Oh, by the way, I have this song I like to perform sometimes - "Lee's Laugh Song" - you may have heard of it. It's extremely popular and well-liked, at least in my opinion (and maybe that's the only opinion that thinks that!). ;-) Anyway, one day you too may receive "Lee's Laugh Song". And I just realized this had no point whatsoever. As you'll quickly notice, I have a tendency to ramble about really nothing in particular! Ahh....the joys of being a S'cubie! -L :-) Lee Hollins

Having written 6 chapters, I'm going to take a bit of a break with the episode this evening and all. Have no fear I'll abandon it at this point. It's coming quite quickly. When Vlad feels well enough to check is in-box, I assume he'll put them up. Nan Dibble

I'm sorry Diane, I seem to be completely unable to come up with anything AT ALL for the Nerd Alert. Darn it! I know you work so hard to put these things together. (And they rock!) Completely at a loss for inspiration, (it has been a long day at work, blah!) Watergal

How in bleedin' heck do you write so fast??? Grrrr.... People, this is the different between a pro and an amateur (or at least that's what I'm telling myself!). And with a new ep and my usual post-ep chat of 4 hours or so, I won't even be able to get to them 'til sometime tomorrow! Waaa...

Mary, it's not hard to be prolific if you do NOTHING else. I've needed to do a wash for three days now. You know what happened to that. As I think I said before, I believe one of the reasons I've been dry on writing for the longest period in my life is that I either couldn't, or didn't THINK I could, go all single-focus, 24/7 on anything, which is the only way I seem to work. Complete monomania, that does not play well with others in real life. But I live alone (apologies to my two fine cats) and currently have no job and after a month's unemployment, have some real hope of a permanent job for the first time in nearly a year. I've bene told I'm the top candidate, but they have to arrange the funding. So there's nothing else, at the moment, I have to do but obsess over Spike. And a very enjoyable thing that is, as we all know. Nan

Do NOT go there, Mary. That way, madness lies. The rule (according to me) is, if somebody else can contrive to figure it out (and everybody is wonderfully creative about that here), that's good enough, especially considering the post not being the same size, shape, or color as you write it as it is when you post it, the lack of an edit button for most of us, and the incredible volume most of us crank out. If somebody else can figure it out, that's fine. Don't worry about your spelling, please. Otherwise I may have to commit seppuku for my innumerable typos. Nan

//OK, Dave, I'm sure we can both be suitably professional about it all. And I hope you understand that I can't make any promises about how big your part will end up being. // Ok, let me get this straight -- you'll be performing sans-underwear, and you're wondering how big my part will be? I'm not sure how to take that.

I started the whole thing about Jasmine is Joss and the blood infection, with post #352 of part 23. But you also have to understand what's been happening on Angel to get it, too.

Thanks for the forgiveness, my brain is fried. I spent all morning going over a patent application looking for errors in it. That's what this phase of training is all about. I just couldn't find any and was going nutso. I then decided to check an accompanying file and discovered that this application has gone to patent. Which means there is nothing wrong with it. Which explains why I couldn't find any. The trainer tells me it was an oversight and this application number shouldn't have been included. GAH!
Yup, braindead.

*hacks and wheezes, coughs and sneezes*
Yep, I am still alive...or undead..or something. Man, I just ache all over. I am currently still running a 101F fever and have now for the last 3 days(and yes, that IS with taking fever reducers). Fortunately the sore throat is mostly gone. The head congestion is much worse tho'. Let's all hear a hallelujah for Dimetap.
I have mostly caught up on all your posts.
Lee, I am so sorry to hear about your grandmother. I am glad to hear that she is recovering. *hug*
Anyway, this is to let you all know that I am indeed undead and kicking. It appears I have some work ahead of me. I'll try to get Nan's story installments posted before BtVS airs tonight.
I'll post more soon.

Nan, what's seppuku?

Vlad, if your fever hasn't gone down after 3 days on fever reducers (Tylenol TM), you should consider going to visit your local walk-in clinic or friendly GP. (Or alternately, take a soak in a lukewarm tub, that is truly torturous I tell you!)
Take care, cool yourself off, and drink lots of clear liquids. (Sorry, no blood for you.)
Sending happy Get-Well thoughts,
Watergal

Michelle,
I should probably let Mary answer, but I THINK seppuku is ritual suicide. It was common(?) in dynastic Japan several centuries ago. If a warrior somehow incured shame he would take his sword and ritually disembowel himself. (Everything I know about this is from reading Shogun 20 years ago.)
