Another amazing episode for you to summarize and review very neatly, havoc! ... I keep wondering about Starbuck's reaction to the news that Caprica!Boomer is pregnant. Was it just a freak-out over the idea that a Cylon can be pregnant? Was she somehow thinking that this meant Caprica!Boomer is the "real" Boomer - a human Boomer - and that only the other Sharon is a Cylon? Which brings me to a question I've been wondering for a while. Are the human Cylons just created, or are they "copies" of some human original? ... Lola I'm way behind in discussions but two things in your post twigged a response to the above paragraph: 1. "I keep wondering about Starbuck's reaction to the news that Caprica!Boomer is pregnant. Was it just a freak-out over the idea that a Cylon can be pregnant? Was she somehow thinking that this meant Caprica!Boomer is the "real" Boomer - a human Boomer - and that only the other Sharon is a Cylon?"That's what I thought when I first saw it but now that you mention it, it could be that Starbuck thought the Caprica!Boomer was the real one and Starbuck was consequently freaking at the idea that the one on the Galactica is the cylon and she's not there to do anything about it. 2. "Which brings me to a question I've been wondering for a while. Are the human Cylons just created, or are they "copies" of some human original?"My assumption was that they were clones of the original humans with cyborg modifications and the attendant programming. I watched the episode last night where Boomer first starts "phasing" (Ep 1x02 "Water") and realizes that the G-4 explosives are missing...The scene where she sees the "water contact" message on her screen and can't announce it...was pretty harrowing for me, having seen all the subsequent episodes to the end of the first series. It really made me much more sympathetic with Galactica!Boomer. Moreso even than the pregnant Caprica!Boomer, for whom, even here at the end of the series, I feel surprisingly little concern.

The idea of the human cylons being clones of actual individuals brings to mind another question, of course. What happened to these original humans? If they still exist, will we one day encounter them? And, if so, how odd will that be for both them and the human cylon based on them?

But I assumed that the original Boomer was killed in the first Cylon attack. I haven't really thought about the rest, except maybe #6.
