Also, I wonder what other consciousness-es have been boxed. Since they have a term for it, it had to have happened before. Has anybody else ever read Anna to the Infinite Power. It's a okay youth fiction book about a girl who discovers that she's part of a cloning experiment. She and the other clones end up growing apart as a result of different experiences. Nature vs Nature debate. We're seeing that here a bit. Right now, most of the cylons are part of a 'collective' - with the same memories. As they branch out - die - come back, etc., they will all still look the same, but we're seeing now that their experiences change them - and like Caprica said - can't remember exact words - the individual isn't welcome in a society priding itself on unity. Something like that. No wonder they want to box up the ones that can't be reassimilated. Although, because they are now 'heroes', the rest of the Cylon collective will probably be disturbed by their 'boxing'. Who (or what) would want to go be a hero if they're going to end up in a box? Also raises the question of what kind of behavior is needed to create a "hero". If you need independent thinking and adaptability to do the kind of actions that will make you a Cylon hero, does that automatically lead you toward the kind of introspection and questioning of the status quo that might get you boxed?

Ah, good question. Also - all the Sharons seemed to be programmed to be very sympathetic to the humans, although only the Galactica Sharon seemed unaware of her Cyloness. There's always a danger that the 'mole' will end up on the 'other' side once they get to know the people they're infiltrating. Especially if those people are good - as most of the Galactica crew seems to be. I mean - Adama was like a father to Sharon.

Hang on. If GalacticaBaltar is a Cylon, that means they had Cylon models of Baltar and never would have needed Six to go in and cozy up to him in order to gain access to the defense mainframe. And good question about how many of the Cylon models we know about for sure. I've been wondering about that for a while. We know about No 6, Sharon, the reporter woman, the reporter man, the one Laura airlocked and the creepy babymaker doctor Starbuck killed. But that's only 6 for sure, even though I suspect Ellen Tigh. Man... Um. I've thought "Baltar is a Cylon" forever, but, for exactly the reasons you list, I keep going back and forth between "he is" and "he can't be". But...explain to me, then, the reciprocal "Baltar in Six's head" effect. If they don't explain that, I'm going to be quite peeved. Plus...as I always argued, that looked like one hell of a nuclear explosion, to me. Six didn't survive...Baltar did? Always seemed unlikely. Right now I'm on the side of "he's not", but that could change at any moment. How about quantum entanglement of their minds? That fanwanky and hand-wavey enough?

Snerk! on Baltar mimicking whatserhead.. Interesting, tho - when Baltar is in 6's head, there is no sex involved. That difference (because a woman would be mainly about spiritual 'love', while a man would have sex and love tied together more tightly) makes me think that the Caprica!Baltar and Galactica!6 constructs are made up primarily in their heads And did y'all notice...the more recalcitrant he's being to her suggestions, the less clothes she wears in his visions/fantasies/hallucinations?

It might have also influence my future career choices a bit. ;D (As did Mrs. Murray in Madelaine L'Engle's "Time" series. I wanted to be the scientist babe of a mom who makes dinner on the Bunsen burner in the lab.)

How is it possible that she would die and not him? The mind reels. She was good shielding for the flying glass shards from his windows? Just. Not. Buying It. I don't believe the physics agree with that interpretation.

Now, she is telling her about Baltar. This is gonna be interesting. I like the reference to us. So, where does Cylon end and human begin then? Is being human just a matter of genetics or a combination of genetics and intellect, ethics, and emotions? If you have blood, tissue and whatnot are you really a machine? What is a machine, then? *head explodes* So, they haven't made any technological advances in bandaids? Someone may have said, but...I think this is the past (our past), not the future. Or possibly the present, in fact. IIR the old series C. So...WE haven't made any technological advances in bandaids.

Whereas I have talked myself back to the "Baltar is some kind of Cylon-thing" position, but only by fanwanking that he is a more secret version - not know about by the larger Cylon group. So, either a sub-set of Cylonia or else some other type of false Baltar that he himself created. Or something like that. **does the fanwank jazzhands thing**

Well, I still have a subscription to the weekly paper version (oddly, in this electronic life I have not switched this to registering online instead). So, unless the subscriber version is different (and sometimes they are), I should definitely be getting it. ;D

Hee! I never made that connection. Now I'll be looking to see what Hallucination!Baltar does as a response to Caprica. There was smoking - maybe in a response to her recalcitrance.

Two more things about the baby plot:
Add Maya's story, losing her baby, to Boomers almost forced abortion, and Rya's almost denied abortion.
The baby swap is a project of sorts that Roslin will retain even if she loses the election.
And another thing:
Boomer and Six know the key piece of information, that Baltar was responsible to allowing the Cylons access to the colonial defenses, which none of the fleet knows. If they meet up with everybody else, that may come out. Would be interesting.
Although, if Six is truly in love with Gaius, she may do something to prevent that from getting out to protect him.
